@@mario-oq3pc sure. you know the quest is way less powerful than a PSVR (not talking PC) but i still enjoy VR more on it than on my psvr, screen res, great controller tracking and wireless are way above the psvr, and the immersion is so much better.
My Top 10 places that need to be made in Horizon: 1.Bikini Bottom (Sponge bob) 2.Springfield (Simpsons) 3.Quahog (Family Guy) 4.Hogwarts campus (Harry Potter) 5.Gotham City (Batman) - Inspired by Arkham series 6.The Cul-de-sack ( Ed Edd and Eddy) 7. Castle - Mario 64 8. The Tree House from Code name Kids next door 9.City in Futurama 10. Pokemon
Dude this is bullcrap about grapics look at leis beneath and other carooty style games you can still get emersed if you just don't focus on the graphics and more on the game
This is nothing like VRChat or RecRoom. One: Anyone can create rooms, worlds, games, objects themselves - so it will grow insanely. This will most likely become the start room for Oculus Users. Where they can instantly go into any game together at some point. It will most likely integrate other apps facebook bought into it. They bought beatsaber for instance. This thing will have a version of beatsaber (potentially for free) in it - which would make every new person that wants beatsaber sign up for this - to go to a world to play beatsaber together for free. They will maybe also have in world shopping. And so on... If they are smart they will put the budget behind this - to reach the tipping point where it's normal to do virtual meetups and classes and hangouts on here. They will try to build a monopoly. Then monetize it. This could be huge. Horribly fascinating. One of the great shits that humanity created. I love it :P Or not. Not sure what to think of it.
not sure how much competition it is for vrchat. or rec room, as they're very good at what they do, but vrchat will soon have much more ability to create games inside it. by early next year it's going to get much more complex, and besides that you have the option of role playing your favourite characters, with much more polygons and better texturing. and unity's a much more powerful world-building tool than whatever fb is cooking up. still, having an in-game editor would be nice for users who don't have time to learn some game engine basics.
@@breakbreakbreakbreakbreak Keep in mind that you could import Unity projects (like the airplane game in the trailer) and assets so that might be a game changer, also Facebook has big funding and they can really create a unique metaverse with the right feedback.
@@bakugen699 they've had big funding for years, and are the biggest social network on the planet, by far, and yet they haven't released anything significant so far. i don't have a single friend who uses the ones they've offered to date. it's not nearly wild and free enough. my guess is that it'll be bigger once an older population starts socializing with cheap mobile vr gear and that's years away from being a significant number of people. what they should have done was buy rec room. i mean i like the rec room is independent, but that seems like a smarter play. maybe they'll copy their formula and offer more, but i doubt they can do it as well and also this still won't really compete with vrchat, which i believe is going to grow significantly in the coming year as they roll out some new features. as for that airplane game, it won't look as good as in the trailer, overall they're going super low poly with their graphics, might still be fun and could be better than a lot of other stuff on quest, but if people get a taste of what can be done by plugging into a pc, it might be underwhelming.
? I don’t think they are late as Facebook has the capacity for much more and Vrchat is only chatting so I see Facebook horizon taking the first place if it launches
So I'm brand new to VR and bought a Oculus Go and tried to install Oculus Rooms, once installed i get a message saying Rooms is no longer available and will be replaced with Facebook Horizon?! Is this correct or lies? As i don't see anything official stating the OGO will be getting Horizon yet the message I get from Rooms states it will be replaced with Horizon.
They will most likely add it to the oculus go later on because when you enter Oculus Rooms on the go, it says to wait until Facebook Horizon comes out.
Everyone so happy, all smiles and all, but... You are not the world, i mean, there are latinoamericans too, and there are a lot of apps for the quest that aren't available yet or have restrictions for some south american countries. I hope they make Horizon completely global, give us access to all the content they can offer.
This is a dead end … You need an App Store model where you basically enable creators to creat their own spaces with their own set up that people can ‘visit’ [almost like a RU-vid channel]. Then you charge the creators a 30% fee on any income they make
imagine expecting a person who stays 24/7 in a dark room playing games to be social and have "positive interactions", i think facebook is getting out of touch with their target audience
@@Zephhy Although Rec Room has been released on tons of devices Facebook aims to switch the Oculus Home with Horizons and make it a VR metaverse + they got much more funding and advertising + awesome creators. So it all might change when Horizon officially lunches.
They should have just bought the Rec Room people and gave them a massive budget to do what they're already doing just with a lot more monetary support.
Nope this cant compete with second life, imvu, sansar, avakin etc. It will be taken over by gen Zer's . I dont get the no legs part. So you can only design tshirts. Maybe this is to discourage any sexual activity like other vr experiences or life simulators.
The no legs thing is probably just because they don’t want to animate legs to move and make it feel like you’re actually walking... I wouldn’t take it as far as saying that they’re trying to discourage sex. Besides, how sad are you to meet up with someone in vr and have virtual sex with them?
Trixen the glitching part is probably the main problem because it destroys the immersion so I think if they succeed and they will, they will add legs and stuff
Yeh, it looks like Rec Room.... who cares? I personally think the game looks great and I think it will hold greater possibilities than Rec Room, so look on the bright side! Stop shaming it lol.
They are completely untrackable with common VR tech. Not that the tech to do so doesn't exist, it's just not common. Frankly I am surprised that the body was included: using just hands and head tracking isn't enough to determine good, stable elbow or torso position that even somewhat matches your real elbow and torso positions.
@@breakbreakbreakbreakbreak I agree on the need to have additional hardware to track the legs - hence my emphasis on "common". Most VR systems only ship with the headset and a couple of sticks for the hands, if that. I was one of the poor suckers who supported the Sixense STEM on Kickstarter so that I could get full body tracking. Sadly that was cancelled after MANY years of delay. As to IK, by itself IK goes unstable with the limited inputs given, resulting in jerky elbows as shown in many a tech demo. Not that it isn't solvable with some extra work, such as blended animations or other tricks and a few assumptions, but it still can result in some definite mismatches between the real-life position and the VR position. Hence most games still just use floating hands: less problems to solve = more time spent on core gameplay.
@@kf6kjg well my main point is that legs are totally fine now, vrchat is where most social vr users are hanging out and for most avatars having the full body adds a lot. the ik of some other apps was bad but i think they're all improving. i think the only reason horizons is skipping it is because they're targeting underpowered systems and the kinematics takes some extra processing. however vrc works on quest, at least some of it does, and these worlds and avatars are mostly designed by amateurs.
Not gonna lie I am anticipating Facebook Horizons. I joined to be in the Beta hope I get in! But also boy, FBH has some tough competition. AltSpace, Rec Room and VRchat have already done it really now how can FBH differ from the rest? So far it feels like a combo between Rec Room and Altspace. The playfulness and building of Rec Room and the great social aspect of AltSpace.
Facebook just stop, in the safety trailer Facebook films everything you do, sorry but I don't wanna be watched 24/ and you made oculus headsets NEED A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT, stop trying to relevant and stop watching us, stay with rec room, and don't buy oculus headsets
VR has many uses, but I don't think it's useful as a widespread console that people would use on a day-to-day basis. The science isn't advanced enough to make it worth it. People want VR like Sword Art Online lol, not something that lets you play a game with shitty graphics.
The rooms in it for games and such..its so horrible looking, like recroom but if you fired 8 yr olds to design them. Its pretty disappointing. The avatar creation was good but it seems they focused WAY too much on that.
This looks so so so childish!! AND superficial... You know like the antithesis of reel meet-ups at the pub with a beer or a park with the dogs, etc... You know the real cool meet-ups with your friend on a Friday after work. Anyway; good luck selling this un-human feel-like childish virtual play-mobil looking thing. Haha! It's just too funny actually...
Oh neat. A new PlayStation home. This is stupid. “Magical portals” wow. So basically put away your real Life to focus on a digital one. Lmao. Some of you trolls need this I’m sure.
