Detecting and Correcting Stress in Reptiles

Thank you so much for talking about "aggression", 9/10 when someone tells me their reptile is aggressive I instead notice poor handling techniques or a bad setup for the reptile and I'm like mmm dont think I can blame that reptile for being upset

I agree with everything you said. So much of the time people’s issues come from a lack of knowledge and experience with the species. It is so important to do the research so they know if what the correct husbandry requires. I have two female Red Footed tortoises. They are the best of friends🥰.

Yes from my experience from dealing with wild animals you do really have to gain the trust and when you do ,,,, it works well '

Great topic! I liked what you said about people thinking they have a reptile with aggression issues. Our bearded dragon Sandy (named after the squirrel in spongebob lol) doesn’t like sitting on my hands. Instead She runs up to my shoulder and chills. While I get her food ready. Very informative. I agree having your husbandry on point is key. I got a new boa recently and he is still getting used to me. He was stressed with the move in but tweaking his enclosure here and there has caused him to destress for sure. Still a lil scared noodle but with time he will chill. I think experience with your reptile over time helps allot too. Look forward to the next video.

May be good to get a camera to watch them at night. I have a camera so I can see what my crested gecko does at night. It’s a Wyze camera. Day time he stays in hide but night time he moves around the whole night.

I need help someone! I just got my 4yr crested gecko and he dropped his tail once I brought him home and he continues to run around the cage and jump frantically. I am not touching him just trying to change his food and watch him and he freaks out. Is he okay?? Will he calm down or is this permanently?

So my crested had stuck shed so I was helping him get it off and he bit me for the first time ever. I've had him for 6 years and he's usually pretty chill with me, and I was being very careful, I think he just was annoyed with me.

I got a new baby crested gecko the day it's only 3 months old and I could tell he was stressed out but when I got the crested geckos he did run up my arm after I gave him food

My crestie wouldnt move i knew he wasnt sleeping at first it was in the afternoon for 2 hours then even when night started he was like that i. Tried picking him up and he just stood perched on my finger

He’s buried himself in the ground. Adopted him yesterday and he’s just sitting in the soil

Do you have any tips on handling skittish cresties I try and pick mine up he goes crazy and runs like mad round the Viv and hes bit me once.He's 4 years old and he's been to 2 different homes 🥺 so he hasn't been handled well and the person I was getting him from well my crestie went for.

My crested gecko is active and eats and lets me stroke him but not hold him but his tail is turning darker?? Idk if he’s becoming fired up or if it’s just his breed which it might be but I am kinda scared cuz there’s no vets within where I live .Also he’s kinda dumb and when I get the box of locusts he eats diet because he doesn’t know there’s glass there so please leave comments if there are problems with him (he’s about 30+ weeks old)

I’m very confused so I have a crested gecko and I don’t really hold him because I’m not sure if he stressed or he isn’t. Does “firing up”mean he’she is stressed or he’s not stressed?

Great information nice video I see at puppy loves to play ball that's cute well buddy had been acting funny lately doing a lot of glass dancing I keep him in my bedroom and just got a computer and been spending a lot more time in there do you think he's wanting to get out and sit with me I do try to take him out and he hangs out with me after he gets bathed. And my grandkids love me to bring him out when they come over the two year old will cry if she doesn't get to see him and has to say goodbye to him I think she loves him more than I do but I'm sorry for going on like this but what do you think about him glass dancing great video kiddo thanks
