On April 28, at approximately 11 p.m., Detention Officer Jerome Ulrich was conducting inmate checks in the mental health pod of the Alachua County Jail when he entered the cell of Joseph Combs and struck the inmate.
I used to date a guy who worked in the computer room part of the alachua county jail and I ended up moving in with him at the time he was roommates with Jerome and all the time they'd have these game nights where multiple officers would come over that all worked at the alachua county jail at the time and they'd talk about the things they'd do to the imates which was so horrible. I always wanted to speak out but felt like what could I do I felt like no one would even believe or listen to me about any of it. But believe me this isn't the only instance where he had abused an image there's alot of other stories it's just this time he was caught on Camara doing it. There is tons more instances where he was never caught cuz he wasn't in view of the Camara. I'm glad I am no longer with that guy or even have to associate with any of the guys he was friends with that all worked at the jail. It's so horrible.
