Determination of Sodium in table salt is an important testing parameter. Sodium is a mineral that occurs naturally in foods or is added during manufacturing. Because excessive amount of sodium in any food is poisonous. This video represents the complete procedure of Sodium analysis by using AAS. ______________________________________________________________________

You saved my life, Thanks so much for the video. but if i may ask, how do you come about the "sodium standard of 1000 PPM" in which from which was used to prepare each of the sodium standards? Thanks

please help me!! can we actually get the actual concentration straight away from the generated data from AAS? or we still need to find the concentration from the calibration curve of the standard? basically by using the formula y = mx + c?
@MicroChemsExperiments
@MicroChemsExperiments 5 месяцев назад
You have to put Dilution Factor of the sample preparation into the software to get the final results based on calibration curve

Hi can you please tell me how you used 69.75ml hno3 used for 1N solution ... In my piont of view it should be 64.2ml
@MicroChemsExperiments
@MicroChemsExperiments Год назад
You are right. 64.2 ml is needed. But slight variation in the nitriv acid concentration will not affect your teat result.

Thnks, but I think it is better to input dilution factor during analysis rather than calculating manually

hello, why are we doing the watching process? Why did we dilute a second time and measure both? Finally, how do we calculate ppm concentrations? thank you for the video :)
@MicroChemsExperiments
@MicroChemsExperiments 2 года назад
Ppm calculation and percentage calculation are already given in this video. As the sample have the unknown concentration of Sodium, we diluted second time and measure both to ensure that any of the dilution absorbances falls within the standard curve.

Thanks for video, can u please explain me what am I doing wrong. I prepared 50ppm ZnSO4 7H2O solution and dilute it twice for second an 5 times for 3rd standard. For 50ppm I got 0.260 absorbance but for 25ppm I got 0.220 absorbance which could not be correct. I did this few times and get same results, can you give me advice how I can fix it
@MicroChemsExperiments

Your prepared concentrations are much higher for AAS analysis. Prepare 1ppm, 3ppm & 6ppm

Can you explain me where did that 10000 came from in the formula
@MicroChemsExperiments
@MicroChemsExperiments Год назад
To covert the ppm value to percentage you need to divide the ppm value by 10,000.

Hi 👋🏻 can you explain why is it 100/4,7 and 100/1 please? Thanks a lot and great video ❤️
@MicroChemsExperiments
@MicroChemsExperiments 3 года назад
During the sample preparation, we diluted 1 ml of our first sample solution into 100ml with DI in order to make 2nd dilution. Thats why, 100/1 is used in the calculation.
