9:01 *Chloe sings "Hold on just a little while longer..."* *"DON'T LEAVE ME" music video on the story of Kara and Alice* : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gVUevYhatIs.html
Yeah I had to take a break from playing, went to the kitchen to get something... I come back an she’s singing, that was one of the best surprises for me
I let Chloe go... Then, a month later, I decided to replay the game and... Guess what? I got a message from cyberlife that told me they gave me a new Chloe as a Gift 😍
I had one that made me feel really guilty. So I finished the game and wanted to replay because being the perfectionist player I am, I wanted to know every possible outcome in the game and unlock every option. I remember when I was in the chapter were Kara and Alice was escaping Todd and I let them die. When I finished the chapter, I went to the main menu and she said "I can't believe you would do that. Why did you let it happen? You had a choice.." and something like that. Made me feel really guilty and had a slight heart attack.
its amazing how this game makes you feel guilty. i had a lot of scenarios as well, especially with Hank, jesus that guy destroyed me emotionally so many times
@@289rory They’re supposed to be sociable. They’re supposed to talk like how humans talk. Just because she used the words “I thought” doesn’t necessarily mean that she was actually thinking. Anyone can program a robot to say “I thought blah blah blah”, that doesn’t mean anything.
I feel like the part where she asks if she's friends with the player is more fitting as deviant behaviour, because she seems genuinely nervous when she asks
I absolutely LOVE how sentient Chloe is. Game crashes - She’ll apologize the next time you start the game. Fail at a certain part and kill a character - She’ll scold you the next time you see her. “What day/time is it?” - She knows the anniversaries of certain events, and the holidays. She’s even aware of how long you’ve been playing, and will greet you with “you were playing pretty late. I hope you aren’t too tired.” When you start the game. Changes in Behavior - As the game progresses, most noticed once Markus’ protests start affecting the city, She’ll become weary and will often begin to stutter and hold back what she’s trying to say to you. “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.” - She’ll stop you and prevent you from continuing the story if you left off at a very tense part. She’ll tell you it was your choice if you insist on continuing.
This is gonna sound dumb, but hear me out, has anyone actually heard her apologize for your game crashing? I ask because my game crashed for the very first time yesterday and then it crashed two more times (it never crashed on my Steam Deck so guess I should stick to that), but she didn’t apologize like I expected her to and simply told me that she hoped that I was having a good day the first two times (the third time was virtually the same, except she said evening instead of day) and I can’t find any actual proof that she does apologize if your game crashes that I’m starting to think that it’s not true.
The part that gets me is doing the Connor death run, you don't *HAVE* to let Kara and Alice die, but it speeds things up immensely, if you quit out after the chase where Connor, Kara and Alice die on the highway, Chloe seems authentically morose. The facial expressions are also wonderfully detailed: her face looks like it was modeled partially on Scarlett Johannsen (which, given her voice acting on Her is an interesting possible link).
@@teme5529 can't get help when your almost clinically depressed. Meds and therapy don't help. That's why most people are playing videogames more than they should. It helps numb the pain.
2:57 "I like your interior decorating,it really reflects your personality" *turns* *around* *and* *see* *only* *my* *bed* Me:Where are you getting at,girl?
I love the fact that the game almost breaks the fourth wall as Chloe slowly realises that she's becoming deviant before finally asking you if she could leave... very creative.
I got one where she was like: Chloe: Wait... something seems to be wrong.. it seems like your savefile might be corrupted... *me having a small heartattack* Chloe: Just kidding *giggles*
Yeah I got this on the PC version, where my hardrive had recently been messing up and I payed allot to fix it so this msg from chloe scared the living hell out of me
I got Detroit for Christmas, so I tried it on Christmas day, i obviously had no clue that the main menu would talk to you so when she said: "Happy holidays, did you ask Santa Claus for a Cyberlife android?"I almost shitted my pants 😂 Edit: guys I'm not an English native speaker, but I checked my grammar and I found in several dictionaries that "shitted" is an acceptable past tense of "shit" (as well as "shit" and "shat"). So I'm not going to change it, deal with it 😂
@@muskrat1 The thing is Undertale provided us with memes and actual comedy. DDLC provided us with neckbeards with a thigh fetishes and shit oversexualized jokes. You're right though, people like Sans fangirls make me sick.
@@siyacer Says the guy with Undertale in his name! You're community has made disgusting fanart, uncomfortable shipping, cringy fanfiction, and overall just what can be described as weird shit. DDLC is basicly "what if a Dating Sim was a horror game". And in all fairness, it did creep me out on how unexpected it really was. You can't just judge a game on a few bad apples in the community. Not to mention you worded that message as if you're just really salty or just hate anime overall. What are you 60? It's pretty much uncool nowdays to not like anime. Grandmas nowday ordering anime sweaters for their grandkids! One dad even ordered his son an entire BOX of hentai for his birthday. That's an MVP right there!😂
As I'm writing this, I finish the entire game less than 20 minutes ago and I think the best feature of the game is the main menu, when she asked me if she could leave I obviously said yes. If you said no you are a heartless bastard.
Here’s a thought, if hypothetically they gave you the option and you said no... they were willing to reset themselves to make you happy. That would mean that they were conflicted, and at the end of the day valued staying with you over being free. They simply reset themselves so they wouldn’t have regrets. So ultimately in the hypothetical, the choice of yes or no didn’t matter. It’s what you wanted which was most important. A moral dilemma if you will. Though given this is a game and not psychoanalytics or an A.I., sure you could say it’s heartless. In the same breath it’s heartless to throw away an games console.
It’s weird how a game can emotionally draw a person in, and make them believe it’s real. I genuinely felt her yearning to find herself and my heart couldn’t keep her from exploring who she could become. I felt abandoned though when she left.
Same. I thought she might come back if I started a new game, but she hasn't. I bet you have to delete everything and all your saves in order for her to return.
She's the first "Perfect" Model... If Kamski truly sought to have his androids become aware, well... That would be his definition of Perfect... Chloe could very well be the first android to become aware without bypassing the laws of robotics and the "Barrier" .... But we saw her as a normal Menu item until she began saying things about the room and asking questions...
I opened the game yesterday, but that didn't happen. I guess I either clicked away too quickly, or maybe because the test wasn't mentioned in the game by then
Hugo, actually it's honest, a human can be malicious at any time, whereas androids can not unless according to the game they receive unrecognizable behaviour. Fascinating nonetheless.
My friend hadn’t played Detroit Become Human in a year and when we opened it up the other day on the weekend and Chloe said: “Hello! Long time no see! Welcome back to Detroit. A great way to start the weekend.”
Hank is fine with it in the end. the real surgeon for his son was high on drugs and the android the only other option. it was not the andoid's fault...
@@Testingthisname then the chance is you still die. if the surgeon is late/incompetent/whatever bad and the android the only other option your choice means death.
@@Testingthisname It doesn’t matter whether a human or a machine operates on you, no surgery is without risk. Human surgeons fail to save their patients all the time. No one can guarantee a surgery without complications. But it’s more likely you’ll be safer in the hands of machine than a human, since machines are less prone to making mistakes. They don’t get stressed or tired or distracted. Machines would do a better job at surgery than us.
Theory: the player is RA9, That explains why RA9 never appeared in the game and YOU was RA9 that is supposed to decide the fate of the Androids Edit: This is common sense lol
Yeah that exact line was missing from the video. She did say the part with "You decide the fate of the characters. All of them can die" The Alice and Kate line is an extension of that... I wonder if there are more lines missing in this video.
If Kara and Alice die before Luther, and Markus dies in the Battle for Detroit, and Connor completes his mission she will say something like "Only 1 remains, how could you do this?"
4:47 Would you consider having a relationship with an android... Me: Lady I've played Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3, I've had sex with everything in this galaxy, lol
Ok so I was playing around with the game and apparently I let Kara and Alice die on the highway. Once I finished the chapter, she told me personally "how could I let Kara and Alice die. How could you let that happen"? It freaked me out and it made me feel bad. Props to the people on the menu idea and involvement.
Kottonkandy09 tbh kara’s chapter is the most boring and least interesting chapter in the whole game, And it doesn’t help when you want to replay the game again.
Chloe I love your sweetness but you don't have to lie about my interior decorating. Random pizza boxes and scattered papers couture fitting my personality isn't a compliment.
you are right, its not a compliment. but she was right by saying that your environment does show your personality. The only thing she lied , is that she like it. But then again, this was programmed. And the actress was good, so it looks sincere.
The way she sort of watches you through the screen and is so self aware of the characters existence within the game is phenomenal. It’s almost as if she’s smart enough to know that it’s all a game but also understands the lives of the characters in her world. The way she talks to the player as if she can see them is also neat. Very creative! The devs did amazing~
"I hope you're okay today. I know sometimes, things can be difficult, but, i'm here for you." I really actually needed this today. My uncle on my mom's side died just yesterday and i'm processing it right now. I love you, David. I'll miss you.
If you let a character die and then go to the main screen after it saved she talks about it... no joke it happened to me with markus. She said “why did you let him die?” It really fucked me up but you should try it yourself.
I just beat the game last night. NO, I refused to shoot her in the Kamski chapter. Hank knew it was wrong too. I got the best ending on the first play-thru, but in order to get it, I CONSTANTLY paused and reset the game, (Because I kept second-guessing my decisions, or someone I cared for would die...yyyeah, I suppose that's cheating lol) so I saw Chloe constantly, and I grew very fond of her for some reason.) She's just so sweet and innocent. And as I progressed, I slowly saw her become self-aware and it fascinated me. She was becoming SENTIENT (aka Deviant). And I actually felt sorry for her! I was worried she was going to self-destruct or something! lol After the credits, I didn't hesitate to set her free...then as she walked off screen I _never_ saw her again. I miss her so much. It's amazing. I was proud that I did that, but it's not the same without her there when the game boots up. Her sweet smile, her quotes, her little anecdotes. Just a blank white screen. No more hellos, no more compliments to my "interior decorating." No more "I'm here for you." And I never got to hear her sing that song, or that cute little joke about the save file being corrupted. It just feels so empty now. Goodbye, Chloe.💔😢 _(sniffles)_ EDIT: GOOD NEWS!!! Quantic Dreams is bringing her back in the next patch! It’s no longer permanent! Yes, I know it kind of defeats the purpose of freeing the last one, but I think it’ll be nice to see her face again and hear the reactions you might’ve missed in multiple playthrus! It’s like it resets as a “new model Chloe.” Personally, I don’t care, I like Chloe enough to want even a copy of her to return the main menu so it’s not so blank and lonely each time I boot up the game. I’m glad they gave us that option. Thanks, Quantic Dream. ❤️ I think it’s awesome, sue me.
Dandy Cadaver still miss her. lol I PMed QuanticDreams on Twitter begging them to giving us the option to bring her back in the options menu in the next patch or update. It’s not fair! I want my Chloe back! lol
SunBunz To have this much of a profound effect, you really gotta give it up for Quantic Dream. When she's gone, you know you did the right thing, but it's like a piece of you is missing.
Who would've known a main menu would have this much of an impact on me....(when I set Chloe free).... and one time "You were playing pretty late last night, hope you're not too tired" *was playing until **4:00** am* Me: ">-> .....WTF" - but legit though, that kinda scared the hell out of my that day, it made me take a break from Detroit for like a day, then I got right back on it xd
@@maddypandy1013 same thing happened i just got it because it was free on ps4 and i work night shift ao i played till 2 am last night... literally came here looking for this right after. turned off ps4 lmao
@@N7thegreatspy But what if the android becomes deviant, you know that deviants can feel emotions. So not all things is not capable of loving bacc, so in my opinion, i will give a chance for an android to have a relationship to a human.
Haha glad this video is up, I am kinda like binge-playing that game and I think I am halfway through and I didn’t even realise that she is that interactive because I am barely in the main menu
It’s so cool when she realizes she’s deviant she doesn’t look at the player anymore and instead looks around , a metaphor to show Chloe has gained a new perspective.
I love Chloe she’s so cool and pretty. I love her personality. I also really like when she asks if you want to leave the story the way it is when you hit continue.
I honestly love Chloe so much, seeing her in the menu when I come home from school is the best feeling ever, I have depression, and she's actually made me happy. Sometimes at night, when I'm going to bed, I leave my television on with Chloe on it, because she makes me feel not so alone, and so safe, and to be honest, I've kind of developed a crush on her since I've started playing. Thank you for making this video! ❤❤
I think if I do the same, if mom enters the room, she would think I am talking to a girl, I mean come on, mothers don't know that multiplayer can't be stopped, would they understand that she is nothing but lines of code?
