No commentary full Storyline and playthrough of Markus' storyline, with all companions alive and a full pacifist playthrough. I've got a Kara one coming up soon, and then hopefully something fun and different. Enjoy!
Yes I am aware that it's marketed as a 'Full Pacifist' run and yet Markus pushes Leo (Carl's son). However, if you don't do this, Carl dies and Leo never gets his act together. And I wanted these to be as happy stories as possible. Please stop telling me that it's not a real pacifist run. If you care so much, go watch a different playthrough.
AngelofGrace96 I FULLY AGREE WOTH YOU!! I was scared your run wouldn’t have that because of the pacifist in the title. But this really is the best option! Thank you! You did all the same things as me, so I can send this to my girlfriend happily!
@@wesleyfilms People are not always rattional and, in the end, just react to stimuli. It's easier to treat a car (that offers no social interaction) right, definitely more than an android (that does). For example, when you're upset, you might lash out at people who haven't wronged you (and androids imitate people), but you wouldn't be mean to a vehicle (which is clearly an inanimate object).
If you analyze Markus face at the broadcast room it is revealed that Markus is a gift from Kamski to Carl. Damn, then I thought what if Kamski saw this coming or intentionally create new intelligent species. He even create a hidden exit program in case a deviant got controlled like Connor did. I think Kamski's role in this game is bigger than we thought.
Well you know what my theory is? That hidden exit program.. its not just meant for the way connor used it. I think the emergency exit gets activated when androids get abused like markus or kara and the android can use it. If it successfully uses it, it breaks the "Control Wall" (or however you wanna call it) and becomes a deviant. The Thing with connor was just a little extra i think
@@acay5722 yeah. But still I think Kamski is the man behind everything that happens. I'm surprise there's no secret ending about him or anything. The big clue is that Kamski gave Markus to Carl. It's like he's the one who designed Markus to be this great leader for this new android species.
It isn’t pacifist, but it keeps Carl alive. Without knowing that Carl would be alive, literally anyone would justifiably say “fighting back” is not pacifist
Okay, but seriously I think the interactions between Carl and Markus is just underrated. I mean, look at how Carl actually uses his manners towards Markus in the breakfast scene. He doesn't have to, but he still does. And then not even a few minutes later he tells Markus, "Asking questions that have no answers is part of being human," implying that he believes androids are much more than just machines. I just think Carl is a truly beautiful person in this game, and despite the fact his screen time is very limited (In both timelines when he either lives or dies in the beginning), he's an overlooked character that deserves more than he gets. ❤
To be honest, I see that first choice as Markus learning why one way won't work. If he pushes Leo and thinks he "killed him". It shows him how dangerous it can be to fight back, especially if it comes at the cost of hurting someone close to you or someone else. If he endures, Carl dies and it shows Markus that being a pacifist is not the way. Cause doing so led to the death of someone close. One he could've prevented if he fought back. That first choice if you ask me gives Markus the catalyst for what he decides to do from here on out. Either seeking peace with an open hand or taking freedom with a closed fist.
Kamski actually programmed the androids this way , he purposely gave Markus to Carl the characters are the only models in cyber life while the rest of the androids are the same model . If you see the ending that the revolutionary failed you can see that Kamski is mad and comes back as a CEO after the revolution fails presumably to program the deviant system to revolt again.
i feel like whenever markus says stuff about his master he doesnt really realize hes talking about carl negatively like carl is a chill dude bro he was a w e s o m e
I kind of get the feeling Marcus was free the whole time, Carl was always telling him to be his own man, if he came home and told Carl he was leaving to find his destiny, Carl would say do it, he wanted Marcus to be free, but he was afraid he would die if he defended himself, so I don’t see Carl as a “master”
@@AngelofGrace96 I think Markus is trying to be something FOR those who had masters rather than actually thinking of Carl as a master, or else he's thinking of how HE thought of Carl rather than Carl actually thinking of it that way. You can think of someone as your master and feel like their slave without them agreeing with you.
I’m pretty sure everyone gets their jobs back in the end since I bet you the androids aren’t gonna work for humans again and don’t need money to sustain themselves. So the Androids kinda also fixed the job market.
I think there would need to be worldchanging reforms to the human-centric job market. Money might cease to exist in 1'st world countries considering the way androids can work.
But then again. With the billions of dollars going into the production of androids, the whole United States or at least Detroit would be in major debt because the world’s investment towards android suddenly fell. All the jobs android fulfilled are empty and even though people get their jobs back, it doesn’t fill in the costs for all the androids
"We can't break into a cyberlife warehouse, we don't even know how to fight." In a world where even android hookers can beat up a seasoned veteran of DPD and a state of the art gestapo bot.
I didn’t realise till recently but if Leo gets pushed he only ends up in hospital. So it’s either you hurt Leo and he recovers to return to his father and apologise for everything he’s done wrong, Or let Carl have a heart attack and visit his grave . In conclusion you either hurt his son and he lives, or kill his father and he feels bad Correct me if I’m wrong on this
There were technically some decisions like when he didn't want to risk their lives for the truck at the dock or to even go out there in the first place and when Markus left Simon on the roof I think
Ok people who saved us. Markus: He is the leader of Jericho and making sure that androids and humans live in peace. Connor: He made sure that we get the cyber life androids so we can be tip the balance in our favor. John: He sacrifcied himself to make sure that Markus lives to save all androids.
The part where Markus goes through the junkyard, and he has to get past all the grabby hands is just about the worst feeling I have ever had to witness
Finally someone that actually did an actual pacifist run of the game, I cant tell you how annoying it is when I'm watching a playthrough and they still shoot people and play neutral and they say they want to be pacifist.
I know right!? I was so annoyed I couldn't find a completely pacifist run (INCLUDING KEEPING CARL ALIVE COME ON) So I made one myself. Thanks for the comment!
@@AngelofGrace96 I did as you do too, but you've done better than me Anyway revolution come from words and determination to win it by peace Violence resolve anything
AngelofGrace96 I have to be honest when I saw this I was like I swear if Carl dies I’m going to be VERY upset then I read your comment and was so happy. Thank you!
@@OutCast907 You are wrong, violence is the only way when your enemies are women who thinks that guys should be women slave and they think that guys don't have emotions! You really want to try be peaceful for these girls? Humans in this game are the same.
I don’t know why but this just made me think about how unfair it is to be in a fist fight with an android. Even though they’re made for largely domestic tasks and therefore do not require that much strength (but damn construction androids must hit like a truck) but it’s very easy to make a machine that’s far stronger than a human, because our muscles aren’t bioengineered to squeeze every last bit of potential out of them, but a machine? Efficiency is their game. Plus it’s safe to assume that an android has some plating covering their internal components so that they can take the usual punishment that humans take on a daily basis (slipping, tripping, falling, getting hit by random things, hitting random things, etc.) so in a fight you’re taking some of the weakest bones on the body, basically all of the wrist bones, metacarpals, and the phalanges, and ramming them directly into what is essentially a lightly armored endoskeleton. What are we? We’re an endoskeleton covered in muscle and fat. Granted the fat could act as a cushion and muscle is quite tough. But against a hydraulic press slamming into your sternum? Yeah no. Thats going right through the skin and thin layer of flesh and either shattering your sternum or breaking it straight off your rib cage. Either way that fist is going right into your heart or lungs and even if it missed you’d probably go into pain shock immediately and subsequently die. Yeah I’m surprised that the androids even had a challenge fighting against humans.
I feel like Cyberlife purposefully made the average android as same or weaker than the average person in case of any problems or malfunction and the robots gotta be terminated in possible dangers.
You forgot to mention their basically instant reaction time, analysis of your fighting style to predict you and fast speed, they walk in public to seem more human and not make people uncomfortable but i think if it meant to their full potential they would outspeed most people
Every time I watch a compilation of this game, the junkyard sequence with Markus always impresses me. The shift in the audio from when he reboots to when he repairs his hearing is incredible.
Me: *sees comments about people complaining about people complaining that it’s not pacifist if Markus pushes Leo* Also me: *Cant find comments of people complaining*
See, one of the things that bother me about this "Press X to emancipate" mechanic is that it seems less about "waking up" the androids and more like overriding their programming to follow Markus: I mean, If I suddenly gained Self-Awareness and Free Will I would confused out my mind o.o And certainly not ready to join the Robolution on the spot ._.U
You would have to take into account that the androids can process the situation far faster than a human can. They would not need as long to come to a decision especially if Markus uploaded contextual data on why there is a revolution in the works.
@@robofreak425 I dont know how fast you can process the dilemma of whether or not you are "truly alive": For example, what if a Deviant, out of his own Free Will decides that he wishes to serve the Humans? We assume that the persue of Freedom and Happness are a Self-Evident and imperious need for Humans. But Androids are not Humans. I think one of the misgivings of the Game if to Equate Free Will with Emotion..
@@miguellemir242 robots don't function like a human would. Robots can process information MUCH faster than you can and no robot would be stupid enough to join a human that will eventually get rid of them. Humans are such stupid creatures
"demanding rights for androids and other obscure slogans" 🤔🤔🤔 Hmm, yes, what could Jericho's message possibly be? It's so mysterious, the protestors' demands so impenetrable. If I were Markus, I would be increasingly tired every time a human newscaster spoke. Can't especially blame North for her skepticism and frustration here
I just noticed, with his step towards deviance when Carl told him to paint, and Markus expected to be asked what he needed to paint, before given the choice to create whatever he wanted, made it better
Personally I find his story the least exciting, I feel Connor and Kara were much more interesting and fun to play as. They both go through huge character development.
@@venezuelaanimations3732 I felt like Kara was the most basic story in DBH, considering how interesting (albeit unoriginal) the concept of the game is and how interactive it is. Just my opinion though 🤷
I’m surprised more people chose to just be assaulted by Leo. I think the story works better if Carl is alive to give Markus advice, and I much prefer Leo getting his act together.
Since Carl says not to fight back and the fact he's the only person who was nice to a playable character up to that point people probably thought that listening to him would be the better choice the first time around
3:50 That man was right... But only when Markus is violent 4:08 do you remember Oliver's parents? They are here, and now im not sorry about stealing their tickets
Honestly, I never thought I would like the story of this game. But Heck, I liked it and even watched it from different perspectives, Connor, Markus, and Kara. Love it;D
why tf they added a "bad feeling" background music on connor at the end of markus' speech like is connor gonna be a threat for them because of amanda??
33:27 Is it me or do these short, calm and detailed calls just make me happy? Just a calm and collective person explaining the situation in full and being able to communicate well with the operator.
Honestly, I like it when Carl lives, but I also like the ending where Carl dies. When Markus calls him "dad" I crack a smile. It proves that androids can learn to love.
Have you noticed at 1:53 that there is a barrier saying “WAIT FOR GREEN LIGHT” but when Kara (my example deviant for this comment) is at the street with the shop laundromat and motel she crosses the red light no problem.
Well, I do like this game - visuals, characters, choices, attention to detail, - but there's a deal-breaker: The androids are SO MUCH superior to humans! They have NO obvious weaknesses (that I see at least), they survive where people cannot, and the deviancy spreads so fast you wouldn't believe it. Progression. As a matter of fact, Marcus could scrap the protests and marches at all and still convert every android in Detroit, if he would choose to be covert about it. I'm a disappointed that it's not an option tbh Also, if you've read so far into comments, you should listen to a song "We almost lost Detroit". Hits hard
1:16:38 The female android that is dying on her feet, yet is still polite to her last second of life, then the dumped child at 1:18:04. His people are losing or have lost hope. Madam Lucy is one creepy lady. If she demanded that you cross her palm with silver before a reading you'd give her a 5Kg bar to avoid being cursed. Damn, she was good. Read Markus's recent past with one touch. 2:02 North is one dangerous lady. I'm sure she was the runaway that the owner of the Eden Club mentions. If her life was one of multiple rapes every day no wonder she hates humans. Thank goodness she listens to Markus. On the whole it is the androids who are decent & moral. Yes. You would wonder whether children would miss their android nanny. But who would listen to the opinion of a child anyhow? Disabled elderly adults with android carers who remember the African-American Civil Rights struggle & make the obvious connection. People would listen to someone like Carl Manfred & he has a stash of paintings Markus did.
You know whats the most unrealistic thing in androids? The fact that they can be easily repaired. You would think that a monopolist company like that would make androids absolutely unsalvageable to "prevent ecological damage" but actually to make people just buy a new, more pricey version of already existing ones.
Quantic Dream is better than Telltale Games in every single way. Original stories, better action, stronger characters and choices that ACTUALLY effect the flow of the game
Telltale Games: In our games are choices are important.. Quantic Dream: Don't even say about choices in every fucking episode! I think we all know that Quantic Dream are better.
Carl: One day I wont be here to take care of you Markus Okay but the fact that he respects Markus and treats him so well even though Markus takes care of him is just so cute and amazing 😭😭😍 most of the androids are treated like shit :/
The former founder made a special android only for Carl to help him... Maybe Markus was made solely for this purpose, intelligent life able to manipulate and bypass CyberLife softwares
anyone else think it hilarious how the animators gave up at the finish line? after markus' final speech when they should've all jumped with joy they cheered without so much as a finger twitch.
Even with every peaceful act Markus did if you really look at it, he was corrupting androids with his own logical program each time he made contact with them. So, he is already a living representation of RA9. Markus: Android Rebel and Leader.
I like to think that killing Leo makes you realize that your actions lead to you killing the son of the only human you knew that loved you, therefore giving you a more realistic play through if going pacifist, if you don’t push Leo & carl dies, I like to think that because of the choice you made to endure Leo’s punishment, your beloved human or “dad” dies of a heart attack & his son blames it on you, therefore having anger towards humans leading you to more aggressive actions.
You know? I support androids in this game, but honestly, cyberlife was creepy. If you take a close look, they practically dominated the world, they even had fucking android zoos, and carl had android birds as pets. Awful.
Todd: *beats up and abuses Alice* Hank: A android killed my son so i hate them Carl: Markus i know you pushed my son and became deviant and is now leading a army but..........you still good Markus: !?!?!?! its confusing how Carl isnt mad at Markus while Todd and Hank are
the only quip I have about this game is not the androids but the humans, forgive me for being maybe a bit cliched but as a foreigner if I know one thing about americans is that they'd be rioting before letting the government taking and destroying their property (the androids). add to that the fact that humans are very good at antropomorphizing things and there is no way americans let their government destroy their android waifus without a fight.
