I noticed Amik rarely gets mentioned by national media, or even local, when discussing the DBs... it seemed like its always CD, TA, BB and sometimes Rakestraw ...
I love BB in the slot. But the one thing that gets forgotten is the 49ers were running formations to specifically keep HIM off the field. I think BB is our nickel, and shifts to SS in certain formations.
I think Amik, is one tough and talented guy who played well on the outside for the Raiders last year! And agree with Booner , hit it square on the head! They will all be on the field at some point in a game!!!
I don't know who's doubting him and I doubt many people will get a chance to. Our secondary is crowded now, Unless they stop using BB as a nickel I don't think we'll see a ton of Amik Robertson. I don't think there's a way Terrion doesn't start at CB2, to me he's one of the better CB prospects in the last 5 years, Arnold has some of the most fluid movement skills i've seen, he high points it, can break up passes through contact, knows how to evade blocks to get at a ball carrier, I think he has everything you want out of a CB outside of 4.40 speed. I think Amik will be effective but I don't think his usage will merit having doubters.
My guess Amik is the starting Nickel, Ennis is more the depth piece this year. Throw in Branch will be able to float as a traditional safety and have more freedom to be a playmaker. This secondary is exciting to think about how they employ all the pieces.
On a more fun topic my dark horse breakout candidate for 2024 along with Jameson Williams I believe TE James Mitchell to have a break out season as the flex receiver on the offense
