Just found this channel. I grew up on that lake. The Navy has taken me many cool places but out of everywhere ive fished St. Clair is by far my favorite. Good luck with the channel and season. Michigan is definitely a sportsman's paradise. I used to go to Lake Michigan every spring and fish for smally's on the rock bar's. Me and my brothers and my nephew have all stayed super close as a result of the bonds we formed. Small mouth Bass hit and fight like no other and they are also delicious.

Good Stuff! See..., a bass man can teach a big man about hook settin'! jk Once Jared cooled down on the bait action a bit (typical of large mouth fishin), ....Boom!! But seriously, to get the hook through a top jaw (typical large mouth) ,gotta swing the bat! For the smallies, I get a bite in the side of the mouth more, so the wrist-flip method works better for me! Not like I'm a smallie fisherman "dahn heeere in the south" or EVER caught a big nugget like the one you did!! Fishing there must be sweet...blue water...small line...big waves...all kinds of fish species! ...and always seem to fight harder on the spinnin rig too!! :)

Come out to st Clair river in April for some good walleye jigging. Got a big crew going.
