Thought that this video would be on brand for your page and so I went to it and sure enough you guys already made it! I love how you have more subs than the actual Pure Michigan account.
I just recently drove past this and didn't notice it. Maybe they should have covered it in gold and diamonds to both make it stand out more and to let visitors know to lock their doors and roll up their windows.
Not the worst thing, but... most other cities in the world with the "I❤[city name]" signs, put them someplace with a beautiful, iconic (but maybe better than the total location's) surrounding. Knowing that visitors will take photos that will be transmitted around the globe as a sort of advert for their city. Sign looks clean enough, but there's nothing in this that Says "Nice Things About Detroit". Same goes for pithy DTW sign at the airport. Mediocre and bland. Joe Louis Fist in your face? Now's there's some allure... What the city needs is a statue of Kwame with Strawberry at his feet, tugging at his pant leg and Beatty on his arm with banded money and burner phones falling out of every pocket. Pure-fect!
It’s so great to see people excited about the sign. It’s not a huge thing but every upgrade adds some beautification to this once great city and I think it’s great. So happy for the people of Detroit, you guys deserve this and so much more.
Almost half a million bucks for this weak insipid piece of junk? I’m certain that the city had other more genuine needs for that money than this cheesy sign. Uh, last time I looked there were about a jillion potholes. Fix those first you city council maroons.
