I live in Detroit all my life. I’m 16, and I hate how y’all judge a place by what you see on the internet. No it’s not the most Gorgeous place but the city is not that bad either. What these people are doing is enjoying themselves. Detroit have a different way of partying sometimes. And the city isn’t as “dangerous” as y’all think it is. All they promote is the negative. If you hear about the great things you wouldn’t think the same. And I’m a good kid with all A’s and one of the ones who don’t walk the streets. All I’m saying is IF YOU HAVENT BEEN IN DETROIT... Well let's be serious. The downtown area is really nice and really safe. Its' the surrounding neighborhoods that are terrible and will be for a very long time. As soon as you head out of the downtown area it's like a war zone. Blocks with no one living there, dilapidated houses and zombies walking around totally cracked out. The downtown area is great and is really turning in to an area to hang out and visit for tourists. Just don't walk around downtown take a wrong turn and end up in an area where you are going to get robbed and killed or sold in to the sex trade!

The only people who I truly feel sorry for in neighborhoods like that are the children growing up there. The best thing those kids can do for themselves is work hard in school and make good grades, go to college or into a respectable trade, and then leave that neighborhood and never look back.
