I was in 6th grade when this happened. I still remember vividly Mags walk-off and Polanco going nuts rounding the bases.

Thank you so much for posting this...as a Detroiter and lifelong tiger fan I had this game DVR'd and ended up accidentally erasing it and basically thought I would never see it again in it's entirety but thanks to youtube and people like yourself, I got another chance...again much thanks!

This is the year they should have won it. Loved jim Leyland, he was great, but never could finish.

Tigers had 11 days off because they swept A's. They lost their momentum going into the WS vs St Louis and our pitchers couldn't throw to 3rd base.😑

They had multiple appearances to the WS and in the end, couldn't finish

Edit: Fox fired him in 2020 for controversial comments on a hot mic This is the last MLB playoff game called by Thom Brenneman. He remained Fox’s #2 baseball announcer through 2014 but during that time only Buck/McCarver team got playoff games. Then in 2014 when Fox finally had some playoff games for him to call, his crew was demoted to #3 with the new #2 crew of Vasgersian/Smoltz getting to call playoff games. I didn’t like that move at all, Vasgersian should have stayed in the studio (Fox kicked him to the booth to make room for Kevin Burkhart as the studio host, that’s how it kind of all started), as Brenneman is a better play by play guy, Vasgersian’s calls are extremely cringeworthy with his high pitched voice and ridiculous “Santa Maria” catchphrase (catchphrases are crutches for local announcers, what other national announcer has a cringey catchphrase like that?). Then to add insult to injury, since 2015 Joe Buck has taken the LDS off, but his substitute on the #1 MLB crew has been Kenny Albert, while Brennaman usually fills in for him on Fox’s #1 NFL crew during the LCS and WS. The way I see it, Brennamen should be the #2 baseball guy, Vasgersian should be the studio host, Burkhart should fill in for Buck on baseball during the LDS, and Kenny Albert should be filling in for him on NFL during the LCS and WS. It seems like Fox is not currently utilizing these guys to best showcase their talents

Brennaman should be calling the World Series. Class guy and is always alert to what is going on (except when he referred to Craig Monroe as Curtis Granderson 😂). But he’s really good.

@@RealJackHQ Infortunately, that sometimes happens with broadcasters. When the Tigers won the World Series in 1968, Curt Gowdy referred to Jim Northrup as "Ron Northrup" at one point and Ray Oyler as "Roy Oyler."

Praying this happens in 2020. How great would that be. Just given that the Tigers have been struggling as of late, and so have so many people in our country as of late, more importantly and most unfortunately. It would be a great symbol of determination. People do say “third time is the charm.” Let’s prove that true at least one more time.

Hey look when Thom Brennaman still had a pretty good job... Funny thing about this is the day after game 3 when FOX fired Steve Lyons for racist remarks. I guess Thom didn't learn from that as history repeats itself... It's a shame because I've always thought Brennaman was a pretty good announcer.

Pingas Studios Maybe around that time that would be true, but since 2006, the team who finished their LCS first has lost the World Series except the 2008 Phillies and the 2018 Red Sox. (2-11 World Series record)
