I am so so pleased that you enjoyed your long Detroit layover! That city holds a very special place in my heart. Although I was born in Los Angeles, I spent eight years of my childhood in Detroit, and they were honestly some of the best years of my life! Yes, Detroit still has many challenges, but it's making great strides to improve itself, a little at a time. Detroiters are also some of the warmest, kindest, most generous people that I've ever encountered! I do hope that you return so that you can discover more of the positive experiences that the city has to offer. On a side note, I did finally visit Kreation at the Manhattan Beach location. I ordered a tuna wrap and the chia seed pudding in the signature glass container, and they were both excellent! This was a very small satellite location however, so the selection was a bit more limited. I plan on visiting one of the larger locations during my Christmas break. Thank you again for all of your amazing suggestions, and have a great week!
I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and worked in the city for years. The preserved buildings and decor is so cool. thanks for this vlog, great memories! 🎄
Love the vlog Vera!! I've lived in the Detroit suburbs my entire life, and I'm so glad you had a positive experience!! It really is a wonderful city. :)
You trip looked amazing! I love that the man bought you and your friend dinner, it really reminds you that there are good people in this crazy world. 🥰🥰

Sweet Vera, I am sure that the gentleman at the restaurant saw how beautiful inside and outside you are, you deserved this special treat!!! Seeing you around Detroit made my heart full of joy… I lived near Detroit for 3 years (2013 to 2016) and I miss it so much! I love Detroit and will go back as soon as I can, to see again all the places I visited and loved the most❤️I am glad you enjoyed it, it is a very particular city, I will never forget the athmosphere!!!
So happy that you enjoyed my city ❤ . The vibe in the winter is so different in the summer. You have to come back and most of the places are back open.
Hi Vera What a great layover the view from your hotel room seeing the snow with the Christmas lights and skaters and having your dinner paid for simply amazing very enjoyable!

Vera (in the snow) you were really in Canada. The bridge is right there. My old car made in Windsor. The old Motown was old nice skyscrapers. Then came Japanese cars and problems.
OMG 😳 I cannot believe I missed this vlog?? WOW what a fantastic layover you had & sooo great to see there are some really wonderful & kind people on this world without wanting anything in return or an alterio motive. Great you had your first snow experience of the season as did Kat Nesbitt in her ORD layover. I agree Detroit looks AMAZING & so pleased you got to experience it with Amber 🤗🌹🌈💋🍹❤️xx
So glad you had a great time and were able to experience great food too!!...nice that you ran in to a nice person who had no ulterior motive!!...glad to see that you are in good spirits too!!
You'll always have nice memories of Detroit thanks to that random act of kindness of that generous man. What a great layover! I love the music you use Vera!
I live in Saginaw love my Detroit trips we go a lot, mexican town is amazing and greek town, campus martius which you seen is gorgeous, the belt which is a super cool alley with ever changing decor, eastern market is an amazing shopping experience, and beacon park at Christmas. Detroit is extra magical at Christmas.
I’m so glad you liked it here in Detroit! I did my birthday dinner at San morello this year, so good. If you come back in the winter; Cadillac square is cozy and nice, Detroit shipping co, and second best are fun for day drinking too!
I grew up in the metro area and have spent so much time downtown. The food scene, art scene, and music is incomparable. I lament of the fact that it's popularity has caused some of its subcultures to become less freestyled and more controlled. I hope you have opportunities to find us before we fade away into the gentrification fields. We'll be here, of course, but perhaps less visible. Hail Zombo!
I would HIGHLY recommend when you go back visiting The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), it is SPECTACULAR. Also, Henry Ford Village is another great place to visit. People really do not realize what there is to do in Detroit. Oh, and check out any of the numerous Coney Island's for breakfast. lunch, or dinner. Thanks for giving it such a good review (I was born and raised in Detroit.) -- Ann Marie Curling
I love your channel! Just found it ☺️ I went to Atlanta job interview last week and was researching some info about flight attendant life. I'm all about nutrition and wellness and travel. As I worked as a pharmacist in my home country and airline baggage service department and a hotel here in the US. I'm a new American, 12 years ☺️. I'll be applying again, for different airlines, the job and the life style so very much align with what I want to do. Thank you so much for sharing all the cool places and ideas for health and wellness. Made couple of screenshots and explored your Amazon! Exited to watch more of your videos Vera!
Hello Vera!!! On minute 0:28 in the beginning of the image of arriving you to your room is so delicious!!! The mood of the scene, you taking off the coat and so on, and you not taking off your eyes of such a wonderful view through the windows, makes me remember Breakfast at Tiffany's for a while with the music you choose. Excellent job!!! About the story of the generous man, he just wanted to be nice and I'm sure he did it. That kind of actions let always a huge impact which is the best in my humble opinion. Have a nice day... bye!!!
1: double upload in less than 24 hours was a nice surprise. 2: that hotel room was awesome. 3: the walk along the boardwalk or water walk (idk what it's called) is really cool. Next time you could give that a try.
I'm glad that you enjoyed Detroit and gave good reviews because Detroit is one of the cities that I would like to visit. When I think of Detroit, cars like Ford comes to mind. Also I think of Motown records and great musicians such as Aretha Franklin , The Temptations and Eminem like you mentioned.
Hey Young Lady, Cool video from Motown, check your e mail either tonight or tomorrow for a Whole Foods e gift card from a couple of your subscribers including myself, I took care of the details, but hopefully our favorite FA enjoys it and has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.🎈🥳😀👍👏✈️
Joe!!! Thank you soooo sooo much I just got it!! Can’t wait to do a special haul with it in my next video. That is way too kind and generous of y’all ♥️
@@BalancedFlyer You are quite welcome! Antonia and Jared who are both American Airlines FAs who I know watch your vlogs contributed, so Thanks to Jared and Antonia as well.
Hi, when would be the best time to gift something to the flight attendants? While entering the plane? Or later? Is there something else besides chocolates or Starbucks (Starbucks unfortunately we can't afford as there will be a lot of flight attendants). But perhaps one has a special idea? Can imagine that flight attendants get lots of chocolates these days ;-) Love from Germany.
Hi! Thats so sweet of you to consider a gift for your flight attendants! Yes we do get a lot of chocolate. Hmm well I like to bring interesting snacks for the flight attendants, things like chocolate covered pretzels and what not. Really anything is appreciated and a pleasant surprise!
@@BalancedFlyer If you're in to nature walks which from the looks of your lifestyle and videos, you are, I would recommend taking a stroll around Belle Isle Park the next time you're here! Probably around a 5min uber ride from the Renaissance Center.
I like Detroit too. I live in Toronto,so I cross over the border in Windsor, Ontario. Crossing the border is scary.I am told lock car doors and windows and don't stare at any one
Miss. B-Flyer ! Nice Music ! Since your out of Boston, Id lov to Share that If the Money was available to Me; Id lov to spent part of the year at your Berklee Conservatory of Music ! Ol West ! PS: Which is Colder?? Detroit of Boston ?

If you find yourself in Detroit, avoid going downtown because there is nothing special about it. Instead, the best places in the Detroit Metro area can be found in Troy which is home to the Somerset Collection which has plenty of shops and restaurants.
I’ve been to so many dangerous places in my travels and I always say as long as you use common sense and stay aware of your surroundings you should be good.
