Dette Spent Wing Coffin Fly 

Our tying series continues with the Dette Spent Wing Coffin Fly tyed by Joe Fox. This pattern, originated by Walt as a spent wing version of the contemporary Dette Coffin Fly, utilizes rooster hackle tips as opposed to teal. It more closely mimics the spent naturals, and its clipped hackle body keeps it buoyant while reducing bulk.
