I do 99% beach hunting here in South Florida, and what I really liked about your video was not that you just told us where you're setting each menu option but what each menu option DOES! Nice vid Steve. Only change I would make regarding Sensitivity, I would adjust Salt Sens first before Standard Sens, as per XP manual. As far as Disc. goes, with the XPD1, you really never wanted to go over a Disc of 10. It would start to affect depth. Is it the same for XPD2? I would prefer Notch as well as the RC only need to mute the Notched number as opposed to Disc having to process then determine to mute. You can adjust the React to help stability as well. Would not go over React of 2 though at the beach.

Spot on CZKidd. First adjust Salt Sensitivity which reduces false signals associated with salt water. The General Sensitivity setting adjusts for EMI. If EMI is the culprit, start with a frequency scan. You are really learning that machine man.

another great video and very informative,im thinking about buying a deus2 for when i go diveing but im humming and ar-ing as im not very good with tech i tend to forget stuff and this looks very techy unlike my nox's (shame they havnt sorted the water ingress problem as they are great machines) can you delete a single target like 13 = ring pull or 16 = bottle top ?.here in the uk our lower denomination coins are iron core so on the nox800 you need to keep -5 and -6 for these coins so i was wondering if you could delete those specific numbers but still keep some that would show as iron.thanks for the help rob

Yes, you can. There's a "Multi Notch" feature that allows you to silence TIDs you want. It's not as easy as with Nox, but still the official instruction pretty much explains how to do it. Good luck with it :)

Looks like you haven't done the update yet on that machine you're on version 6 you'll be able to get to the large numbers a lot easier also if you run the bottle cap at 3 you will start to knock out the real real tiny gold earring backs earrings fine gold chains you should do a test with some of the gold you have you'll see what I'm talkin about also you should run bottle cap at 2 silencer at zero discrimination at 6

9 is the highest sensitivity so as you lower you will loose depth but decrease noise

@@Gigmaster Ok, gotcha but then why in the factory preset is BEACH SENS set with a 7 Salt Sensitivity while DIVING is factory preset to a 9? If the lower number in Salt Sensitivity is giving you less depth shouldn’t BEACH SENS be set at a 9? Guess I’m confusing something. When Salt Sensitivity is mentioned are they referring to sensitivity on objects in the ground in salt water or the Deus2’s ability not to be affected by salt water?

Gig master, fairly new Deus2 user here. I made a copy of your Diving that you showed on your video here. I have a question though. Why do you set your tone break at 8? Aside from the absolute rare chance that I may go over a thin gold chain, what valuable target have you ever found on the beach, that has a VDI, For instance, under 30?

Mostly nothing valuable under 40 but those gold chains can do funny things!!
