dunno. they should take a look into DNF Duel if they want to go "cartoon" style. Now it seems dry and some moves effects look too cartoonish and disconnected from the game, while DNF looks really juicy and well realized. Also, they should improve "paper"-like hit sounds.

Not even mentioning names like the upcoming Street Fighter 6, If they think this can compete with visual masterpieces in this art style like Guilty Gear Strive, they are absolutely delusional. riot is built on esports. so you can imagine that they look at the FGC and how its been mishandled and they are salivating at the chance to be the "saviors". We'll see how it plays out. I'm not completely sure if long time FGC fans and players will actually like the esports treatment. but I imagine that it will bring a lot of new players into a space that has historically be very intimidating to new players.

@@bonzwah1 we are both seeing the same future and it's scary, I've seen how esports gets handled, and like I've always said in the FGC community you need a big brain, a big heart, and even bigger balls to step in the ring with most of these guys. I'm really worried about them new players because in fighting games you don't have a team to blame for your fuck ups it's all on you and your skill and your brain which is why fighting games at least to me have always been looked at as the hardest genre of game to master

@@egrassa1480 it's not as accurate in high level of play. I see people drop combos and it's never really because of miss inputs. It's the timing they do it. I remember one guy saying it's satisfying if the inputs are hard but honestly I disagree since I mainly like seeing my character doing cool shit on the screen. Instead of getting satisfaction from doing a hard input combo I respect your statements regardless

Yeah , I wonder if that means there is no cross up protection or a block button , I would be glad because I don't like those. That mix up looked super nasty tho. Like that seemed kinda too hard to block. I also wanted to know if the game would have a dash macro or not. Kinda disappointed they pretty much didn't say anything in the movement section about it.

@@walabixha1746 i think its a 4-5 button game (norm1-3, at least one special button) and they wanna make it easier input wise, so there will be a dedicated assist button (at least one). Also most characters seem to have a run and command dash from what i understood, so a run/other mobility button i guess. That's already at least 6 buttons. I guess there could be a seperate possible macro for each assist, so at least 2 free unbound buttons. Lets take a pad- attack/special buttons on the face, top buttons for assist+run and two free triggers. My guess is, run will be a seperate button from dash, which will be a double direction. Or the other way around, we will see

@@walabixha1746 Team fighters always favor offense, and defense typically rates somewhere between "there are no turns" and "if you block, you are now losing". As long as you can't hit both high and low simultaneously out of a normal blockstring, it's aight with me. Hard agree on the block button. Crossup protection in a 2d fighter is a plainly stupid idea, and I can't believe it was ever implemented to begin with.

simply amazing of Tom Cannon in encouraging players to play more fighting games and encouraging veterans to teach newcomers. I'm very happy with how well polished and beautiful the game is turning out, in addition to looking like a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to being able to test it! (I know it won't happen, but it would be interesting if we got a mobile version of the game, but we probably won't. I'm still looking forward to it)

Tom giving a shout-out to the FGC is something that makes me love what Riot does when committing to community focus. FGC is all about the community, and we're all thinking it. This might be the chance for the FGC to have a game made that will potentially change the entire market for fighting games, just because it's a Riot Game. The game looks excellent! Very good animation, the movements look fluid. The scenery they show looks excellent, that shows that the ones to come will be that cool. Something I noticed is that there are no facial gestures between the blows that are received or the attacks that are performed. I guess this is something that will be implemented later in the development of the game. Since the level of animations that you have done so far I don't think this will be a problem. This will give more realism to the game I congratulate you!!! very good job!

@@laszloneumann500 I'm simply not a fan when a character is juggling someone with the same air move over and over again, more or less. I'm not saying Darius looks like the epitome of creativity, but at least I see some variety in his moves. Also the showcase isn't just Darius. Both Ekko and Jinx seemed like they did a lot more compared to Ahri's air combo. I think her balls will play a much bigger role in Ahri's final version, but so far I just don't enjoy seeing her juggle someone, while floating in the air. I know some people love that shit. I was simply saying that, in her current state, Ahri looks very boring to me.

I'm really happy the game has a burst system. It feels nice in games like Guilty Gear and BlazBlue that you can get out of at least one sequence, it also adds a cool mindgame, and layers to high level play where you can burst bait.

2:48 PushBlocking (or something like it) does seem to be in the game, as the characters seem to have a blue outline when they block & the attacker is pushed back more noticeably.

This looks amazing! I'm so happy to see that they are implementing the combo breaker from Killer Instinct and a Tag system close to Tekken or MvsC. I'm sad hearing that we will know more next year, but this looks promising so it's worth.

As much as you’re entitled to your move of bbtag I hope to god this game is nothing like that. Bbtag was to hand holdy the devs of this game are veterans from games that require you to at least know the basics of you wanted to have a chance at beating someone

@@joshjones1727 I mean BBTAG was hand holdy on basics but the skill ceiling was ridiculously high with proper cross combo and it had some of the most unique setups because of the tag mechanic so a lot of people quit since they couldn’t compete with people who actually knew how to utilize cross combo I’m just more or less worried that people will have the same reaction with this cuz the tag mechanic is definitely gonna be similar

The gameplay looks amazing and looks like players that go deep on the lab will develop really complex combos The anime style of chars looks so cool. Illaoi looks even better than in LoL
