In December 2013, a powerful tidal surge wreaked havoc along the East Coast of the UK, reminiscent of the catastrophic floods of 1953. Witness the aftermath through striking photographs and video footage showcasing the immense damage inflicted by the relentless force of the sea upon Cromer, Norfolk, UK. Cromer Pier stands as a testament to nature's fury, battered by towering waves and fierce winds.

It's great to be back on the platform and I'm glad to say I'll resume regular posts soon. Watching this video rekindled memories of the surge seven years ago.

It is very hard and upsetting to see this. We come to Cromer every year, but I must say that apart from some temporary accommodation for the ticket office on the pier, everything seems to have been back to normal this summer. This is obviously due to the talents and hard work of the local people, and I salute you all. We all love, love, love Cromer!!

I can't believe it's nearly seven years ago this happened, I'm glad to say it hasn't been repeated to this extent. I also love Cromer with a passion so lets hope we have seen the worst.

Having walked the seafront on the days after the surge it was hard to watch this again. But Cromer will be open again this summer as that is the British And Norfolk Sprit. If we are knocked down we shall rise again and rebuild.

As co-creator of this production( with Andreas Yiasimi ), I would like to thank him for his excellent and moving edit. This is our second video together, the first being the Cromer Remembrance Parade, and Andy managed to bring a tear to my eye with both on first viewing. I would like to dedicate my contribution; and I am sure Andy will concur, to the people of Cromer, where this event has just taken place, and especially to the SEARCH and RESCUE PERSONNEL of CROMER, in NORFOLK. Thanks to them, a disaster for our friends and families did not become a tragedy. Joi Joi as ACTIONMOVIECROMER.

Fate - or - God bring hidden 'GEMS' of opportunity which we can choose to turn to our advantage. The dramatic Tidal Surge and our chance meetings that day and previously have now led, for me at least, wonderful new journeys of discovery. The incredible success of this video and your infectious personality have changed my life beyond my imaginings and I will forever see you as my mentor. Thank you, my friend.

Very well said David, thank God there was no loss of life, that of course can never be replaced. It was a pleasure working with you on the video. It seems so long ago now, however, it will always be remembered in years to come. I look forward to working with you again soon.

I was running through old footage while revamping the channel and viewed the video again, the elements can be so unpredictably powerful at times.
