This sounds great. I wish more developers mixed affordable housing into their portfolios. Im not saying build/develop at a loss. Just make 10% of your projects affordable to lower income people. Have the local Govt give some Tax breaks on that specific project. Its good for all parties involved.

There are already programs like this, giving tax breaks and insensitives to developers to set aside units for income restrictions. They can easily go 30% of their building and be fine, but it's a lot of paperwork and time.

I can only imagine what this place is gonna look like in a year from now. Hahaha

Like any other apartment building. 🤔 Low income folks are just like everyone else. Plus, 60% median income in Seattle is $54k, more than a single person's income working full time minimum wage.

@@Jamie-813 : we’ll revisit this in a year from now.

@@henryc1000 there's no need to. You can look at the history of all the other mixed-income apartment buildings, in Seattle and other cities. Households with seniors, veterans, and those making 60% the median income don't somehow immediately make them worse tenants.

The news title is actually pretty accurate: DEVELOPERS celebrate shafting taxpayers 117 million dollars to build 200+ housing units, at the same price as luxury condos.
