Why is prayer and fasting so important and how can you develop a lifestyle of it? Speaking from Mark 9 when Jesus brought deliverance to a young boy, Bill Johnson teaches on Jesus’ response to the disciples when they asked why they could not cast out the demon: “This kind only comes out with prayer and fasting”. Fasting is not a hunger strike, holding God hostage to an answer, it’s hungering for the unseen more than what is already seen. As we become more aware of and anchored in the unseen, we will grow in power and authority, uniquely positioned to bring solutions and breakthroughs to the situations we face.

Dear Pastor Bill! As I was listening to your sermon, Jesus gave me what he meant by fasting. Yes, one cannot see unless one fasts from the world. So from the worldly distractions. It's not about the food, it's about the fact that when I'm constantly occupied with mundane things I don't have time or too little time for worship. Because in worship, God draws closer to us. Moved in worship, the spirit within us wants to speak to him (prayer)!! Have a blessed day in the shalom of Jesus🙌🙏🙌🙏

This teaching fills gaps in my understanding of fasting & prayer. Some areas I’m confident in and other areas I’m not as confident. Big takeaway for me = fast and pray to uproot unbelief in my garden. Faith and unbelief can grow in the same garden, recognize thoughts of unbelief as they may appear logical they are still unbelief, and be willing to skip a meal to anchor myself into what I can’t see … see with faith…that is a huge rhema word for me!!! --- 🎉AMEN! 🎉 😂 My hair caught fire from one of them dry shampoos & getting toooo close to stove. 😢I dropped & rolled in a blanket hollering "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!" ONLY the hair burned, not my ears, anywhere on my head... With the way hair exploded, there should have been skin damage... This happened just the end of this February. IT IS BECAUSE I have been living in that mindset or spiritual arena for 5-6 YEARS that Papa saved my head. 🎉❤🎉 As a recovered alcoholic with 22 years, today as I rub my fuzzy head, am joyfully confident Papa's got more work for me... If it took Jesus 40 days of fasting and praying, and He is the perfect Son of God, how will any of us be able to fast or pray long enough or well enough to come close to what took God's son 40 days to accomplish?

I am Not an 'Expert', in the Hebrew Language; rather a bad- Novice, really... But Much About the Character of "G__d", can be learned from the Hebrew Language . . . FOR EXAMPLE ⤵️ . . . . The Tenth-Letter, of the Hebrew-Aleph-Beht, is - " YODT" ! It is Thee- SMALLEST- Letter in thee aleph- beht , and it looks like an "Apostrophe' " ( in it's appearance, and placement) but with Two-'Tails' !
