I first watched this short film 4 years back mostly because of Yashawini Dayama. Now it popped up again on my RU-vid for you page maybe because of the relatable news that the nation is surrounded by right now. Back then I didn't quite understood the deeper meaning of all the things they said. I somewhat got the idea that they were all rape victims and were living in the same house because of some political unrest or perhaps a revolt. But now when I re watched it, I got to know that all of them died from rape and are living in the same place with the same clothes in which they got raped and killed, it's their afterlife and whoever gets raped and killed comes to this place. They all are from different social and cultural backgrounds and they are of different age range with different stories and different professions. The rapist of most of them were their family members, be it their father, brother or husband. The only television in the room also had one news channel which only showed news about rapes and killings. The short film is evergreen because of its theme.

This gets to me because I was only 4yrs old when I was raped in a temple in Gujarat and no one ever believed me or helped me even though I was covered in blood and I am in my 40s I can still remember every little detail until this day. Ps: *Spoiler alert 🚨 Little details from it-- They all are dead and are assembled at one place after death, what we call afterlife. When news reporter says that whole country is filled with rage, neha turns her face and closes her eyes.. As she knows that it is all useless, people forget everything with time, candle marches, etc are just for a time period, after that even justice is not served in brutal cases. The tv goes off and pee sound produced signifying that another victim has died and needs to be occupied in this house. Kajol said that according to reports ' hr din koi nyi ladki aayegi, kitno ko bahar rkhrnge.. 'That signifies how frequently rapes occur. That medical student signifies nirbhaya, and she is preparing for an exam which she will never give as she is dead(and her dreams too) When kajol says that don't fight after dhupbatti and maushi says there is no God here, why you are worshipping then. Arzu says nobody asked them to to stay here together, ' bhed bakriyo ki trh thuns diya.. They were raped, and killed, no consent nothing. I literally had tears when they told their stories.. That how they were raped.. Even marital rape as maushi was married when she was 12 years old. When neha said she died in trauma of rape, and maushi said you at least got time to cry, then she says that.. If I didn't bleed that doesn't means I was not in pain.. That signifies how traumatic it can be. Kajol in end says that we were adjusting in between those demons, it's easier to stay in this afterlife than that.. When the small girl entered, each one of them was shocked as they were not able to believe that situation is so worse now, that even a little girl was not spared from those demons, they also felt guilty that how they were fighting to send the girl away, without knowing that she is so small. Someone is deaf, someone is wearing shorts, someone is in burqa and saree, some are educated, some are illiterate, all from different religions, Rape is irrespective of these things 🤚.. One more thing, that little girl was probably related to the old woman she hugged, maybe granddaughter. That is why the old girl took some time to adjust, but was immidiately comforted by seeing a familiar face among strangers. After that happened, everyone realised this, you can tell by their expressions. She was raped and killed by the same rapist who had taken the life of the old woman. Which means, he was never caught and will likely not get caught again.

These are the dead souls waiting for justice in the court. Just like their files kept there, they are staying there in the hope of some good news, that's the reason they are watching tv so eagerly. With each passing day the number keeps increasing and there isn't enough space for all of the files pending in court hence they suggest the arrangement with respect to crime, age or number. My question is that How is it that everyone knows atleast one woman who was molested but none knows a molester? When will those poor souls get the most awaited justice?

Only when you watch this film again and again very very minute details you can notice. First of all it took me long to realise that they're all dead and here in a home for like souls after death. There was another detail to prove that she's nirbaya. One is her medical student role. Another is she told the perpetrators age to be below 25. Y'all remember the juvenile. And then the maushi grandma mentioned her husband age. So this also includes marital rape. @@marufkabir3412 It is better if they get 'scarred' like this as a precaution, instead of them actually having anything of this kind happening to them. The scar from a film can be healed, but the scar from actual rape takes a LOOONG time, and sometimes it doesn't even properly; heal. (Both physical AND emotional)

the reason why Neha nd Shruti are sitting on a chair and sofa respectively symbolizing a pedestal is the fact that their cases were high profile in nature because they were from urban high class background while the women sitting on the floor made more a "generic" rape case.
