Experts?

I avoid the public eye, but I can certainly relate. All of my degrees say "Geology", although my MSc was mostly geochemistry and my PhD mostly geophysics. When I first meet a stranger I tell them that I am a geophysicist. If I tell an evangelical Christian that I am a geologist they will try to argue against evolution. If I tell a climate denier that I am a geologist, they often get angry assuming (correctly) that I am an environmental activist. I've been called a communist or worse. I don't bother arguing with these people because I know that it is a waste of time. But if I say that I am a geophysicist, they assume (incorrectly) that I am in oil and gas. But when I find out that someone is objective and open minded we can have rational discussions.

Having a double foreigner pontificate doesn't help. This is an Indian woman with an American accent. All the media promoted medics were high as kites having found their mission to save humanity from the sniffles, & dictate & curtail their freedoms, backed-up by MILITARY GRADE psyops units & 'police' drones hunting for £10,000 fines for picnicing 20miles from the nearest hamlet or having a student bash. & now, no-one's mentioning global excess cardiac deaths up to 25% above average, sustained.

Horrible to know this is the world we live in.

Horribly sad 😢 Devi was brilliant during the pandemic. She did all She could with the best of intentions.

Very glad we had Devi working with the government in Scotland
