For example: they will push a narrative that Project 2025 wants to abolish federal coverage of education. And basically abolish the education system Fact check: No, Trump wants to bring education down to the state level program from a federal level program.

So as the election draws closer and the Conservatives fall apart thanks to many a various scandals, the UK is about to elect a new Labour Government, the only thing that we don't know is if the conservatives will be in opposition after the election, thanks to Nigel Farage throwing his hat in for the Reform Party who are an even more right wing bunch of tossers than the conservatives the traditional Torie vote may be split damaging them even more, compared to US elections ours are much shorter but just as nail biting.
I'm watching this 8 years later and I do wish conservatives like Oborne could reclaim the term from the degenerates that have taken so much from all of us politically, materially, even spiritually...I'm an anarchist, a libertarian communist....soooooo much to his left, so I imagine we'd not see eye to eye on everything (the point being that that's FINE), but I'd take his worldview over that of low grade neoliberal thieves from Johnson to Starmer and their ilk.
I jumped off the Ivory Tower at the turn of the century for several reasons. One was the neo-liberalization of higher education. Academic pedigree became more important than competency. Number of publications became more important than quality of publications. And bringing in money was the most important of all. Being in the geosciences it would have been easy to take money from big oil and gas. I could have written my own ticket to a position at most any university. But being a good scientist it was easy to recognize anthropogenic climate change and its effects. It was also crystal clear the influence the fossil fuel industry had on universities.
