I personally preferred the sound of the B&O. The vocals on the B&O sounded a lot better to me as well. I'm not a sound engineer or an audiophile, it's just what I personally felt sounded better to me. Thanks so much for this comparison
Another good comparison sir. Now I understand ! And a clear winner here. The B&O is ideally and clearly suited for instruments, whereas the Phantom to my perception is more orientated to electronic sounds. And you clearly enjoy The Eagles Hotel California in any version. Good choice!
Funny story - going by the RU-vid video, I too think that the Beolit 20 sounds better than the Phantom II.... and i'm hearing the sound through my Phantom II , haha. However, that being said, I own both of these speakers. I have Phantom II black x 2 as a stereo pair. And i have a single Beolit 20 but my neighbour from across the street brought his Beolit 20 over so we could test them as a stereo pair as well. 9 of 10 songs, we both preferred the Phantom's clear highs and crisp lows. Only 1 song which we both gave it to the beolit 20, was a bootlegged remix of a hip hop song where the warmer sound signature of the beolit 20 gave the song more personality. I also own the Beosound 2 in silver, I can tell you that 1 x Beosound 2 blows away the Phantom II single, and just slightly below the paired Phantom II due to the wider sound stage from the 2 speaker spaced 6ft apart This is primarily due to Beosound 2 being a 270 degree cone of sound, and the Phantom II is a 100degree cone of sound individually.
I am between single phantom, single beolit 20, single biosound 2 and single sonos move. I want speaker for my macbook in my small room. And I want speaker for all my life, min 10 years to last. I want the best sound for smallest price. I love deep base for low volume in my room & sometime some house music in my garden in summer. I looking for powerful speaker. Thinking as well about stereo sonos move + sonos subufer.
👍Maybe Devialet is more juicy creamy and forward with higher db, I found B&O more natural for long time listening. Thanks for sharing you comparison. 👍
To be honest here the comparison is void as the B&O can be EQ’d and the sound stage widened to stereophonic effect in the Beosonic App. There are too many ways to set this up, it’s so subjective. Impossible to call, I have the Beolit 20 and as it’s very portable it can be setup differently for every location you put it in. Everyone’s ears are different too.
Prefer the Beolit sound, fuller and less hollow. I can never get used and like the sonic characteristics from Devialet Phantom, even a pair of properly set up Phantom Gold
Devialet more natural follow what source you using. B&o is feel like got boost the sound just wanna made it clear. If both using high quality recording source from studio. B&o will easy get over kill....this is what I listening
most speakers has to much bass... we have to lower the bass in speakers/headphones and music. it is unnatural and very unhealthy for body and mind ! it stays plastic, and digtial all those speakers cant give a sterophonic sound... and are no hifi speakers. sorry . NO hifi use classical music please.. you can't test music without acoustic classical isntruments/ big orchestra. this stays electronical music. the only thing hear is bass. has nothing to do with hifi sound. bass is not important. total sound stage is. all those speakers give a ineriour sound...
