DeviantArt Eclipse is just not very good 

deviantart: *is an art site suppose to inspire creativity* also deviantart: *lets get rid of the customization*

As a dyslexic I can't read some of the writing in there... crappy shade design too. Currently it looks like a bad version of attestation... which is professional.. what Da is not suppose to be like.

Everything about this discussion is so incredibly valid- I tried Eclipse maybe twice, fled and never went back to it

honestly its really bright on the eyes and limits a lot of creativity for what people with core want i mean i only like the dark mode of youtube

Eclipse is totally trash, I couldn't click on the things I wanted to click on because the format has everything mashed together and it wouldn't let me create new folders to organize my work, basically its the coronavirus of artist websites

I hope they don’t remove the option to go back to the old version. I just wanna stick with the old version.

This caused me a lot of problems too, like I put in my old username and several months later, new background change, terrible layout change, unable to display mature content, and forced me to put in new username and try to find my old favorites or I may as well put in new favorites, BOI.

Not to mention THEY NEED TO FIX THE FLIPPING APP!

I really want to code customize my page I am new to da and one of the things I was excited for was the code customization. I even watched tutoriels for that and deviantart yeeted that out of the da window. And now I am angry at them

They should have made it a slightly bluer green or something and leave it at that. I really stuggle to edit my info and find stuff with Eclipse. Good thing is I have the option to change back to normal.

Honestly the new layout and colour scheme burns my retinas. The black background sucks and makes my profile look messy and disorganized, If I try an scroll through images they’re either clipped halfway or the quality drops. All of the customization on profiles are gone aswell, now you just have this eye-burning background and glitches that appear every second. The thing is the layout isn’t even original, looks too similar to ArtStation and the homepage is an exact copy of Spotify. DeviantArt Eclipse is just a sad excuse of trying to make DeviantArt appeal to professional artists and try to be more “modern”. You’ll have to shove Eclipse down my throat to get me to use it again.

I wish I had core just to go back to the original, I HATE Eclipse.

Ya know what's a pain in the butt to code & maintain in modern codebases? Complete customization.

It’s not as good as the old system, but I have been on DA for over 10 years. I’m not leaving, but they need to fix it badly.

The new design literally caters to the less casual users and to the more professional ones. And the casual ones (like myself) are extremely frustrated.

It's sad to see Eclipse still a half baked mess. It's like Cyberpunk took a lesson from DeviantArt because both need a few more years. Really irks me because at first glance I liked Eclipse, the color and aesthetic I find more pleasing than the weirdest bland green I've ever seen. Though to be fair if the old site had a dark theme I would've been happy.

Oh gosh where do I start... there is no preview so when you have a face like (O_O;) the ; ) turns into a smiley face 😉 and you face ends up looking like this (O_O😉 and guess what else, you can't undo/redo the comment, you just straight up have to keep it there or delete it, there is no edit comment in eclipse. Also as you've mentioned the custom setting are jacked up and the Featured Deviation text and custom links is traded out for a Spotlight with all your links and text at the bottom is just gone. the detailed status updates like the fave of the mouth is all gone and replaced with just numbers and they're not even accurate. There is so much more but that's just the tip of the painful needle that they a reaming into us, oh but before I go... keep your old account for they are forcing new people to us the incomplete version and they may force it on us one day, I suggest you send as much feedback as you can. DeviantArt core is 50 dollar a year, newgrounds is 12 dollars a year ( or how much you will pay ) So there is no point in DeviantArt's fucking price point. Newgrounds is cheaper, more freedom, forums, and admitly. DeviantArt as a website i found was awful for me as an artist.

There's literally no reason why Eclipse should've been enforced like that, just out of the blue. I know people who use older phones, and even one person who uses the Wii U browser to upload their stuff, goess what Eclipse does to that? Exactly. Moved to Weasyl ever since it was enforced, I would deactivate my account if I wasn't waiting for others for support regarding the move. Besides, Weasyl is better than DA. There's 2FA, which DA stupidly doesn't have, and you can change your username whenever you damn-well please without paying for core. Also, there's a dedicated OCs tab so your page is streamlined and less cluttered. Make of it what you will. Psst, also, you can upload music there too.

Try it on mobile, it is really hard to keep your sanity. *ipad user*

I found DeviantArt core is a ripoff admitly. To me as an artist, my money was more well spent on newgrounds.
