I really like this series of pure mission walkthrough of this game by donguri. While combo mads are entertaining they are usually highly choreographed and practiced, or condensed highlights of fights which doesn't focus on practicality. This mission walkthrough on the other hand has only pieces of fancy air combos, but it shows down to earth moments of how a skilled player actually deals with troublesome the enemies in this game. Throughout the video are littered with techniques that are simple, straightforward in dealing with tough enemies, like jump cancel Yamato spamming to break Angelo Shields, camera turn-aways, DT gun usage to decloak or knockdown enemies, things that you can adapt in your gameplay.
I kinda like that they try to make Dante and Nero fight the same enemies and bosses throughout the story, however some enemies are just tailored towards Nero’s devil bringer alone, which makes Dante’s part quite annoying as you struggle to kill simple enemies that are easy to deal with while playing as Nero. If Nero has the Devil bringer then Dante should have something new as well, something that’s different but still get the job done efficiently.
@@bossymanny9425 Why not use Omen? If you like playing Vanilla mode where you don't have Pandora unlocked, it's a game of dealing high damage to Blitz via either the shotgun or Drive. Game turns into a dangerous dance where your goal is deshielding her first and beating her up second. Teleport up to her, shotgun, repeat. Repeat it for like 5-6 reps and she's deshielded (all this while you have Open that takes away her shield instantly). Other enemies are around? Strategize. You and Blitz are teammates at that point, and you should be taking out the surrounding enemies WITH her, and then get rid of her. There are a lot of ways to go about Blitz. Haven't even begun with Lucifer trap antics. Or the one you know to be the optimal thing (it's not) and it being the 'Punch-RG' thingy. As for the Mephistos, it really is the same thing. Omen, even without ANYTHING charged in the meter, removes their cloak entirely. Either that or Rainstorm. Hell, go all out with DT shooting and you're in the clear. The main thing about the enemies in 4 is that you have to open them up first, before being able to whale at them completely. Take the Parasite thingy that gets attached to enemies (I think it's called Chimera). Your main objective is using long range tactics, correct? Well you CAN get pretty dirty with some creative play. Have a lot of Lucifer swords out in the battlefield, teleport up to one, hit it with a blicky to knock it down, SM forward with Lucy, ALL the swords are pinned, profit. The philosophy of the combat is opening enemies up. Put 'styling' to the side for some instances and you'll fall in love with these "annoying" enemies. You'll come to find that they are some of the best pace changers ever.
