I really enjoyed the way that the Yamato was implemented into Dante's arsenal in DMC 4. My favorite setup was the Darkslayer style with the Gilgamesh gauntlets and Ebony and Ivory. Blinding Iaijutsu strikes with sweet kung fu moves and storms of lead.

so basically when dante obtained dr.faust , even without explanation thanks to his secret ability passed down among the sparda kin (learning and obtaining full mastery of any weapon they put their hands on) he immediately knew that this hat is just a way to look cool and brag, just love how he pulled out the scarf to complete the look

I love the call back with King Cerberus in DMC5 compared to the intro to the weapon from DMC3.

I'm half surprised some people aren't going like "How's he supposed to already know how to use these things if he's never used 'em before???"... And in the event some people DO wonder about that, I have a bit of a headcannon related to such a factor: See, when Dante gets a hold of this weapon, he's connecting with the spirit of the entity it's made from. So, in reality, it's being molded to fit Dante's view of how it should work. As a bonus, that also means that once he makes the shape, the spirit in question sets the rules of how the weapon works, and transmits said info to Dante via some sort of link.

If you are wondering what happened to the weapons from the previous games, Dante actually pawned most of them because he is so dirt poor........ The original Cerberus weapon was destroyed in a fight with Balrog and Gilgamesh became a boss after being well sucked into a Qliphoth root. The rest... well someone is buying them i guess from the pawn shop.
