Little fun gimmick: During the long SSS Yamato taunt, if the Doppelganger is currently out, you'll have full control over it until Vergil finishes the taunt.
that gives a lot of utility for Set up if you do it right. Say sending the enemy to you just as you are about to finish the taunt so you launch the enemy into you for further comboing
That goes for all the taunts. That's why they're harder to cancel the animation of the taunt compared to the other characters. Because like V, he can still fight while taunting.
This is the only video I've seen that actually has *everything*, aside from the lower-concentration versions of World of V. Thank you for also putting the taunts in.
Yeah, I figured that adding the less-motivated variant of World of V would mean I'd also have to include the less-motivated variant of every attack he has, and that would be simply too much and not necessary.
@@Draethiox Yeah. All of the stuff affected by that mechanic is easy enough to figure out or just explain in words. I didn't actually know much about the "I shall surpass Sparda." taunt until I watched though, I thought it was a Mirage Edge taunt rather than SDT. It was also neat seeing the damage values for everything.
In 4 they made the base combo be Force Edge only for some reason, the start is even the same. Combo B is still cooler than anything he did in 3 (it actually uses Yamato too) so i dont mind that very much.
The timing has changed from 4, I found there's a visual cue to follow now, when you try to activate the cross cutting, wait for the mirage edge to switch to Vergil's other hand. When he swaps hands, hit attack again and you'll start the crosscut
probably not the RU-vidr named sigma games did Dante Nero and V but, it's maybe because draethion's captions are unique to him making showcasing movesets like this
The RU-vid account (skynet2005) had a track called 'THE JUDGEMENT CUT', but at some point they removed the video or made it unlisted. Luckily, I had saved the video as an MP3 a while back.
@@annedrop Yep once he's charging the end of SDT Yamato combo a you can pull out and he'll still finish. Every sdt combo finisher can be performed in human form if you pull out of it while he's charging it or in the process of doing it. Even SDT Beowulf combo b with the wings but the only difference is his wings don't hit or come out and it's just his arms going back to hit the enemy.
The charm of using Deep Stinger in SDT is that you feel the wings actually doing something. In this case, the wings look like they are generating the vortex along with Yamato's spinning motion
Tbh Deep Stinger reads to me as a more practical-for-player-use version of that flying divebomb move he uses in the boss fight, so that would make sense.
@@mitoriakumu2973 Yeah. It's as if Yamato is absorbing energy from the environment when it's unsheathed, directly into the blade. And when Vergil sheathes the Yamato, all that absorbed energy directly transfers to Vergil himself.
Also when Vergil taunts you can control Doppleganger until the taunt ends. So if you do his BP taunt then you can just run around as him until Vergil finishes. The only taunt that doesn't work is the Doppleganger dancing taunt.
Kinda was hoping that Vergil would get a new set of weapons tho, or atleast got upgrades from V's Familiars. Also would've been great if they added an air moveset for Beowulf and Mirage Edge not only a triangle and forward+triangle
he should kill demons to get their devil arm ,if only vergil was in all of the devil may cry series he wouldve have tons of them,but he stayes loyal to hes weapons which i what i like about him so much like the forceage hes fathers weapon and beowulf

I really like the SDT Yamato Combo A, but without the metallic ring from DMC 4, it feels a little weak to me. Like, I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s not, it’s just that when you finish the combo in DMC 4 and you hear that metallic ring, it was just so special.
Thank you for making this video. Ive been a fan of the series since like 2005 or so and Vergil is hands down my favorite video game character of all time. I love him in S.E. 3 and 4 and its nice to see not only did they add all his teleport moves that before u could only do in DT but his strafe and the void move just looks so bad ass. I was literally bedside myself the entire time. I didn't know theyd added him as dlc and im even impressed they made Beowulf and his 2 handed sword even better. I cant wait to use him. Great video man.
Beowulf has three charges at Concentration Level 2, just for those who can pull it off. Not generally a good idea, but it's flashy and does quite a bit of damage.

Sin devil trigger with Beowulf is so funny, like imagine fighting this dude with his sword and he transforms into a demonic being, only to put away the sword and just straight up throw hands bustin out some ninjashit karate moves

for anyone curious about the combo that vergil uses for beowulf IRL for kick 13/rising sun. its: jump turn back kick>jump back leg round kick> jump spinning heel kick>jump back leg round kick>back leg front kick>double jump spinning crescent kicks.
Lemme help you out, bro. The first move is actually a Roundhouse into a same side Hook Kick. And the final kick is Fei Long Hyper. All the others are spot on.
@@Astro-ls1zq capcom likes to take a few moves from street fighter and add them into dmc. For example the beast uppercut (more specifically the charged versions like rising dragon) take inspo from the shoryuken. vergils fully charged one takes inspo from the shoryueppa. So the Fei Long "hyper" is a move that they took and added and renamed rising sun. Pretty cool capcom did it and the moves look hella flashy.

I have an idea for Vergil's DMC6 moveset. Yamato Combo A becomes the DT Yamato Combo A, but in SDT, the extra finisher becomes a Void Slash like attack. Yamato Combo B also has the DT extra blow as a default, and that's really it LOL Yamato Combo C can stay the same. High Time can stay the same, but Aerial Rave becomes the DMC3 aerial rave, with Aerial Rave B just being a delay attack for the start of rave A. Yamato can have the "It's past your bedtime" move, with special dialogue against enemies and bosses Stinger can just be Stinger 2 from the start, and also Million Stab Drive can have an extra attack in SDT, and Overdrive should travel faster or slower depending on the Concentration gauge Force Edge Combo A should just be a regular follow up into Million Stab Beowulf Combo A should just have the DT attack as default, and Combo B can be the same. Summoned Swords should be at Boss Vergil 's speed until you upgrade it. World of V should have a heal over time, duration depending on the Concentration Gauge. Also Dante should borrow Yamato in mission 11 and then gives it back, then we change to Vergil, meaning he's in the main story, also DMC3 multi Judgment Cuts upgrade should return

When Vergil said “I’ll cut you in two” along with that final strike and the sound at 1:34, I believed him and is probably my favorite move in the entire game. Also, you know you’re playing as the final boss when his idle stance is considered a moveset
I have continually tried to do combo B of yamato but that timing is so delayed that I keep messing it up. And I never realized that rising sun was there because I never truly held down the 13 kick ability. two combos that i have been missing that could have made some fights and combos better
I wish the style announcer would comment on Virgil and V's moves. It's just a shame after Nero's own-little-shonen world where attacks work better if you name them, and Dante's overall joy at play, that the Vs have so little non-generic dialogue.

I can see some quality over quantity in Mirage edge over say Dante's swords Such as Vergil can stinger in the air, Dante cant Vergil's first 2 slashes with Drive comes out way faster than Dante's Drive>Overdrive, hell even Quick Drive too The neutral strings and even the ground stinger hits more than once at higher concentration, moreso than dante's swords Round trip is shorter in projectile range but the suction pull and multi hit shredding makes it handy at crowd control in a way and great for juggles(i use it on boss Dante to High Time, hold and release to Round trip air, Trick Down and Ex Provocation) Oh right, Vergil can Roundtrip in the air, Dante cant except with DSD Roundtrips maybe
Part of me really wanted Virgil to get some new devil arms. Maybe give him some gauntlets and Boots based off of Urizen, or give him one of those giant katanas but maybe controls electricity, I forget what the swords called. I just want some new devil arms for him
@@deadweightnero The world of v is already broken if you have lv2 concentration(since nightmare will also come) , since is free imunity and heals you and you can also parry with it .
Even though Vergils scabbard merging into his body when he uses DT has always been a thing? All it does this time is just merge into the energy coming from his wrists which is why he sheaths Yamato specifically in that every time an animation ends with him sheathing Yamato.
Start mashing right after the first attack that Vergil does. You can watch my controller's inputs during the move to see how fast you need to mash and the timing for it (not on Turbo).
Well, not only that, but both the Devil Sword Sparda and Force Edge no longer even physically exist. So it makes sense that he'd conjure a replica blade from his own demonic energy. How he still has Beowulf though, I have no idea.
Well if we go all the way back to DMC3; Vergil DID technically kill Beowulf with quick succession and took his power but Beowulf had fought Dante earlier in DMC3 and was in no condition to fight (or probably was but wasn't prepared for Vergil in like a million miles or years lmao) but you are right about Devil Sword Sparta and Force Edge not existing physically anymore. But it is a great concept and idea for Vergil to use his own demon energy to make a weapon in the place of Force Edge and use the Mirage Edge just like it.
Yeah but Vergil lost possession of Beowulf after Arkham broke the seal. It was picked by Dante afterwards. Perhaps Dante held onto the Devil Arm all these years and then gave them back to Vergil sometime after DMC5 or something. I dunno.
That's so weird because since Vergil lost Beowulf after DMC3, he still has it by DMC4 and DMC5. But for some reason Dante doesn't have the original Cerberus Nunchaku, A&R Daggers, etc. It's like the developers of DMC5 are making the exact repeat of Vergil's equipment from DMC3 & DMC4 but without Force Edge in his possession. Hopefully we'll get some answers from the developers of the game.
Vergil has them in DMC4 for gameplay reasons, but he really only has Yamato at the time. As for Dante, I heard from somewhere that he sold a few of his Devil Arms for money. Not sure if that's official or not.
