Even at the end, the story depicts two brothers having a childish fight. "Give that to me." "No way, you got your own." "Well I want yours, too" I love the story in this game

Fun facts: the reason Vergil’s voice sounds so nasally is because the voice actor Daniel Southworth had a cold when he recorded his lines

People already told them to you in the comments about Vergil's childhood trauma and all. But an interesting thing to go by, is how Vergil as much as he talks about his father and rejects his humanity for so long. In his final moments, instead of trying to go for the sword of his father which is the same distance as their mother's amulet, he still went for his mother's memento. Vergil just tries to stay distant from everything so he is never hurt again as he was the day he lost his mother. He hides that behind a cold personality but truth is, Vergil loved his mother just as much as Dante did, and he values his memories about her just as much as Dante. But unlike his brother, Vergil would absolutely never admit it.

The moment where Dante and Vergil are working together then saying jackpot puts a smile on my face

The thing they kinda hint at is, Vergil is just as party loving and wild as Dante. It’s just he learned to hide it and act more refined. But there’s always a little hint now and then that he and Dante would literally act likes twins if Vergil didn’t want to act all cool

fun fact: Vergil is so op, that when Dante slices through him, before the sword even passed through, he has already healed the front half of his body entirely which is why he doesn't split in half from his waist when Dantes sword passes through, instead he staggers a bit well cause it still hurt lol It was great to see your reaction to this great game, can't wait to see y'all react to more when the time comes :D

When Dante reaches out to Virgil as he’s falling into the dark Abyss always gets me emotional.

The chronology of devil may cry is: 3,1,2,4 and 5. In 1 they explain more about Sparda and Vergil's last scene in 3.

Kind of a shame they left out Lady's mother's name, Kalina Ann. Lady is Mary Ann. Dante and Vergil saying Jackpot is iconic. In the end, Dante is wearing his DMC 1 outfit, showing that DMC 1 is next chronologically. Bethany is right, Vergil will always be Dante's brother. They are twins, just that Vergil is a little older, whether by a few minutes. Even Dante calls himself the younger brother.

Fun Fact: The reason why the background for that sword is purple because that's the color most associated with Sparda, because it's the combination of Red and Blue, the colors his two sons wear. So their color pallets are a reference to this, plus in Japan, the "villain" color is typically Blue while Red is the color of a hero.

Fun fact, DMC3 is one of the few times the game has done coop. When using his newly acquired Doppelganger skill, you can plug in a 2nd controller and the copy can be controlled by the 2nd player. Doppelganger does require meter if I recall so you do need to beat the game once to equip infinite meter mode to keep Doppelganger active.

Oh man my favorite part of this scene right here was when him and Virgil both said jackpot at the same time as they shot at the boss in the boss fight

This is probably one of the best video game endings ever made. Incredibly satisfying, full of iconic and emotional moments, and it also does something that most prequels don't do that well: it perfectly connects the prequel to the first game. Dante's new outfit, his office, his ability to be fun but also take things seriously now, the way he sits on the chair, his mom's portrait on the desk -- that's EXACTLY how DMC1 starts, even if it's not on the same day. The director and writers' attention to detail was spot-on. The way Vergil ends is also heavily connected to the first game. Best prequel game ever in my book, the only competition is Metal Gear Solid 3 (another 3rd game that is also an iconic prequel).

The sword that Arkham pulled out of the stone is called Force Edge, although in its unawakened form. Force Edge is actually Sparda’s Sword. When it’s awakened it becomes the sword Sparda. So I’m other games they have differentiate Sparda the person and Sparda the sword.

Vergil wants power to protect his love ones since his mom was killed as a kid. He’s just misguided. He’s a very complex character

Remember this final scene with Vergil. Extremely important plot point.

The first game isn’t as cinematic as this one was but the story, gameplay and characters were great and memorable

Sent a video of myself playing devil may cry 3 to my nephew when he was like 10 and a few years later I received one from him playing devil may cry 5 doing a bloody palace run as Virgil and not only was he kicking the shit out of everything flawlessly he's doing cinematic turns with the camera to get all the action, never been so proud also if some woman is dumb enough to have kids with me and it's a boy the name will be Nero who you'll meet in devil may cry 4 if it's twin boys then I have an obligation to name them Virgil and Dante.

About your final thoughts: Dante and Vergil are actually twins, but Vergil came out of the womb first, so he's technically "older." The thing with "jackpot" is probably something the brothers said while playing as kids. The closest thing to another prequel is the DMC5 manga which is called "Visions of V." Though it's best to play DMC5 first before reading that manga series. Arkham killing his wife was probably VERY premedidated. I don't think he was a good man turned evil. He knew that their child would have the blood of the sacrificed priestess that Sparda killed over 2000 years ago, so he probably studied his wife's family tree before meeting her and started the whole relationship with the intention of killing her to become a demon, which he hid very well because he got her to marry him and also have a kid together.

Aside from the fact you guys reacted to one of my favorite games of all time, I just couldn't help but adore your relationship like that's a perfect husband and wife relationship gushing over video games and movies hahah! A little fun fact- dante and vergil were both 19 years old here and they still overpowered every single demon in the game. While lady was 16 and her outfit is actually her school uniform I think you guys would loooove the lore of resident evil as well. It's game that is based heavily on storyline and it's so rich and deep and you'd definitely get attached to the characters and feel for them.

The final battle is a hard-won victory. Full-force, no holding back.

You might also want to check out Devil May Cry anime series. They're about 13 episodes long, and the story is somewhere between 3rd and 1st game, I believe. Dante's relatively young Demon Hunter in it, and it's oozing charisma, and cool demon ass kicking. The anime consists of separate stories, that are connected together in the end.

Pleasse note that theres a good reason why Vergil seeks power, i mean hes a nice guy from the very beginning of the story, is that Vergil doesnt want to experience what they experience when they were kids, they are powerless to save their parents, thats why, He just wanted to be safe and have enough power to protect himself or his family and save his mother. I just read this from a comment last 2020.

I'm happy you enjoyed DMC 3 and I can't wait for the DMC 1 reaction it's after DMC 3 in chronological order and btw in the lady boss fight she didn't have a shield it was actually her bullets clashing with Dante's bullets thus why it didn't damage her and in mission 20 when u said Vergil was cut in half HE ACTUALLY did get cut in half but because they both have a really strong and fast regeneration factor it regenerated back thus why he wasn't cut. After you gain Doppleganger at 11:06 , the shadow can be controlled using the second controller. It's a hidden 2 player co-op mode except the one controlling the shadow can't control the camera but is virtually invincible since the one that can be harmed is the real Dante.

The final fight with Vergil was so UNBEARABLY hard. I legit took about 2 or 3 days just trying to beat him. I was also about 10 at the time so that might have contributed to it. But I absolutely love this series, it's got great stories. Can't wait to see if you guys get to DMC5. that is the best one story wise honestly. and gameplay wise too, absolutely phenomenal.

Yeah that cliff hanger sequel hook scene at the end with Vergil is a lead up to Devil May Cry 1 the game that started the series & you get why & you were right those 3 lights are Eyes of the villain in the next game or first game to put it, look forward to your reactions on it.

I hope to catch your reactions to the remaining games and I'm glad you had a good time with 3. It's definitely the point the series found its footing. DMC1 is a transitional game that's lighter on plot by comparison, though it does expand on Vergil, Sparda and the "Prince of Darkness" in important ways, so it will always remain a major foundation of the setting. There is DMC 2, but its historical significance is how much of a problem that game was that the Itsuno, DMC's director, basically swore to not become "The Guy Who Directed DMC2", especially when he was basically assigned to the game at last minute and basically had to assemble a working product in a matter of months when the original Dev Team basically spent years spinning its wheels. In terms of story, you won't miss anything skipping it. 1, 4 and 5 are where it's at.

there is a prequel to devil may cry 3. it's the devil may cry 3 manga. there's also an anime that takes place between devil may cry 1 and 2. and a manga that takes place after 4 and before 5. hope yall enjoy more of this great franchise

Since *Devil May Cry 3* was made as a prequel, its Epilogue pretty much sets things up for the events that will later (chronologically speaking) take place in the original *Devil May Cry*. We can see this by the look of Dante's new outfit (I wrote "new", but that's actually his classic/original look), that new sword he just got there at the end, it's called *_Force Edge_* (and it's the sword he mainly uses throughout the original *Devil May Cry* game), the look of the renovated shop he set up for himself, and even the very last scene showing Vergil alone in the Underworld, now facing *_"The Prince Of Darkness"_* (the ominous entity that looked like 3 big red energy orbs/eyes). I won't say what that was, you guys will have to see or play the original *Devil May Cry* to find out.

the 2 handguns dante use are called Ebony(black handgun) & ivory(silver or white handgun) which are engraved on them

lady showed us....no matter how 1 dies....losing a life is awful....good souls never enjoy seeing life fade....regardless of reasons

Lady boss fight was one of the hardest boss fights in the game for me. For all the wrong reasons. Because of the camera work and the arena layout you basically fight half-blind, because you can't see Lady. If not for auto-lock this fight would be quite frankly impossible.

It took me about 30 minutes to find out how to beat the shadow. I was attacking him also wondering why he wasn’t taking damage. 😂 I was hoping you guys could get to see the chess board fight and how all the other weapons and styles worked. There is also an Artemis weapon that can be obtained in the 6th mission from the statue goddess. Hopefully at another time you guys could react on how the different styles and weapons are used to easily defeat the bosses. Again thanks for reacting, this was wonderful!!!

They are 2 Devil May Cry Mangas that explains events one year before the game. They were gonna make a third one that was gonna be Lady's backstory, but it got cancelled.

Riding a demon around is actually one of the moves in the game.

I will refere to the D&D definition of devils which fits here as well. There are 3 different kinds of evil fell creatures: demons = chaotic evil, deamons = neutral evil and devils = lawfull evil.

You mentioned couch co-op, fun fact when Dante unlocks doppelganger (the shadow) the player 2 controller can control it. As well as Virgil in the final fight.

The whole story really comes full circle in DMC 5.....I don't want to say too much but I will say that DMC 4 is really important and contains many important details. You will also need to watch the DMC anime after you finish DMC 2 or at least watch a run down of the dmc anime.

Definitely watch Devil May Cry 1 next, dmc 2, dmc 4, dmc 5

Lady and Dante is my favorite dynamic followed closely by Dante and Vergil.

And thus concludes Devil May Cry 3, a very satisfying ending indeed! Dante and Vergil definitely have a complicated relationship. Yes, demons and devils are used fairly interchangeably as terms, I guess the key is in capitalization. Lady, Kate, whatever you want to call her, I guess, just don't call her Mary!😁 Sad DMC is no longer the monthly showcase, but definitely looking forward to all the times going forward when you will return to this wonderfully awesome franchise. I must point out, it is actually Conan the Destroyer, the second movie, that has the iconic mirror smashing to weaken the enemy scene you were thinking of. Shocked Bethany has never seen those movies, that must be corrected immediately! The original 2 with Arnold are classics. The 2011 reboot with Jason Mamoa isn't bad either, I quite enjoyed it at any rate. Cheers!!!

Here's a DIDYOUKNOW? that blow everyone's mind about DMC3: When Vergil teams up with Dante to fight against Arkham if you plug a second controller into the console (or rather turn a second control since all controllers are wireless nowadays) a friend or family member can take control of Vergil and help you kick Arkham's ass! It's a really awesome EasterEgg the developers put into the game. This can also be activated again with one of Dante's special powers - The Doppelganger which allows Player 2 to take over control of Dante's clone. It's so awesome!

Sparda was the Avatar of Pride, so you can see where his sons kind of took up the mantle. Conan 2 was the mirror demon. Also those indeed are eyeballs, which you actually get to see the owner of later.

I missed the older Devil May Cry games as a teen but started picking them up again because of DMC5. Believe it or not, Metal Gear Rising is even crazier than this!

I would recommend you guys watch the video about Virgil's story. Consumed by Trauma, or something like that (can't recall the full name, sorry). It is a good one.

So a fun gameplay element, oddly enough you can use Doppleganger to have a second person play! Instead of the dopple fighting as an ai, a second player can press start can control the shadow. However, since this takes DT gauge, it's use is limited. You can also apply this trick to control Vergil in mission 19

The theme of the Demon World is sinister ambience, the words the male demonic voice chants is "Life of a vengeance a passive test Until the grave I will rest Engage the pressure until it crumbles The existence of the lifeless back souls Onward to the sacred battlefield Where justification and limits are revealed" (forgot a few other lyrics) in reverse so it isn't any hardcore or upbeat music, the demon world also starts in a heavenly looking place then gets darker and lose that peace, just wait for Mirror World in 1 though.

funnily enough, the switch port of 3 specifically added a full co-op mode (as opposed to before where you could only play co-op using doppelganger or during the arkham fight), where one player plays as Dante and the other as vergil, but only in the game's alternate "bloody palace" mode, essentially a 99 floor gauntlet of all the enemies in the game

You actually can play co-op in Devil May Cry 3, sorta. When Dante uses Doppleganger ( the shadow power ), a second player can control the Doppleganger with a second controller.

There's a couple things in DMC1 that obviously get a bit retconned you'll notice when you look at it right after DMC3. One of those things that looks a bit weird in proportions actually gets more of a subtle visual explanation in DMC5 so it makes more sense when looking back in context.

Devil May Cry is one of the most fun franchises in video games, both in terms of gameplay and story. It's not trying to be anything that it isn't (we don't talk about DmC) and it revels gracefully in its personality. Also, idk if people mentioned it yet, but there's also an Anime with like 5 or 10 episodes (it's been a while) that's a fun watch as well. Not sure if its canon or not.

Now You guys have to watch the first game Devil may cry ! It takes place right after this game. I'm excited to watch it

ngl this game is masterpiece its really hearthbreaking when dante fought vergil and beat him and after that got asked by lady "are u crying?" and from that point i remember that vergil is his brother and his last family, and what make this twin different is vergil want to get rid of his human side to get stronger but dante although he reckless he have something that demons didn't have that is the kindness of a human ,damn what a good memory of gaming i tell u

Personally for the final fight I kept it classy to the point it would be believable in a cutscene or in canon…only used ivory and ebony and the sword, barely shot at him, most of it was close quarter combat and the special move I went with in my load out was the dash ability…I was younger then so I could keep up, but the gist of it is, I fought close quarters at high speeds, I would dash around him and react to his attacks, when he came for an attack I would attack too, when that happens the swords clash and we cancel each other out, 3 consecutive clashes and an opening is available and I hit him with a flurry of attacks, when he would transform into a demon I would too so both our cooldowns would be the same on the transformation, and the dash attacks that Vergil would do, I think you can’t counter, so I would use my own dash and then attack and he would dash away and attack but I would dash again, so that’s where the high speed combat I mentioned happened and about 50% of the fight was like that, dash, attack dodge dash jump dash fire gun attack down dash to dodge dash to attack, and just repeating in several variations until an opening was created where he would attack normally so I would too and we cancel each other and then I’d get a few hits in after that……it was the most fast paced and intense boss battle/fight I ever had in my life of gaming, nothing to this day has giving me the same feeling, not even dragon ball z games with the speed of the fighters, Devil May Cry 3 grounded that sense that it’s two half demons fighting and they are powerful and fast and translated that well into the mechanics and the way the attacks and animations from Vergil and Dante interacted with each other…it was neat cause when I first did that(attack him while he attacked me) I expected to get hit, it was something I did in a panic cause I didn’t react fast enough at one point, but then to my surprise the attacks clashed.

Project X Zone 2 has Dante and Vergil as a duo.

At the end of the game, those three dots were the eyes of Mundus, the current demon king and the one Sparda defeated 2000 years prior. Also the mirror boss is called the Doppelganger, and granted an addition Dante instead of Devil Trigger. Both The Doppelganger and Vergil in the second half of the final boss can be controlled with a second controller.
