At one time I was part of DeVilbiss' Beta test team and was one of the people that beta tested the 7E7 aircap on the very first Techna's that were brought into America from England. I know their top technical people quite well and I like their products. So I may prefer SATA's newer guns the 5000 and the 5500-X more than the Pro-Lite. But during the years that SATA was wondering in the wilderness with the 3000 and the equally useless 4000 the Pro-Lite was clearly superior and half the price. The WS400 and and LS400 were better than the SATA 3000 and 4000 as well. The DVR is the first DeVilbiss spray gun in ages to not use the JGA gun body. If you look at it it's clearly easier to make the DVR than the JGA style guns as it has fewer parts. My guess is that they are using a five axis Haas Automation machine to make the DVRs. They can make these cheaper than the JGA bodies so why are they so much more costly. Also, they are introducing new models at an excessive pace. The just introduce the Tenka Basecoat and Clearcoat Guns and now this DVR comes along. My guess is that DeVilbiss is getting greedy. Simple as that.
