Ok, I’m DIY’ing my VW atlas with some minor bodywork, but the hard part is the paint. I’ve read and watched as much as I can. Many seemingly qualified people say don’t sand your base coat. Also, what is “de-nibbing?”
Where are you located that t4900 is available. Im in nyc , spoke with my rep from ppg and apparently its not available in the states yet according to him.
You should have a rep bring in spies 480 high tech or the dupont version of it from Axalta. Bro, 1 and a half coats applied within seconds of each other. No muss, No fuss. Rp5000 1.2 for base works great and for clear as well. Just think of the application time difference. And, yes 80% of the colors cover in 1.5 coats
Hey there! Love the videos, am learning so much, when would we be getting some more “1.3 Slim Kombat HTE MP Special edition Nero” come into stock I’m looking to purchase one for my shop. Thank you!
Hey Gabe. I have not watched your videos in a while. Your channel has been around for years and you only have 38.5k subs ? there are a few channelss that i have noticed. Kandyman, Paint Society & Triggerman. These seem to get most of my attention but i did watch you before them. You do not come up in my feed that often. I see you seem to concentrate alot on these Walcom guns. IDK if this is hurting you or not. But, i think your channel should have way more subs. Just tryin to help. Wish you the best
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS good to hear. Take a look at the channels i mentioned if ya want. I actually bought the ls and ws400 after watching your channel. I did not like either one. I still like the 5000 rp 1.2 the best for 480 water & for spies clear 😁
Hey gbariel from 3 months ago. What was the reduction you used for cascading? Until the 4900 becomes available for me i want to definitely not try this on my own
Quick bake you would give my ppg rep a heart attack and prove to him that theres painters and theres once a painter method. Hell yea i cant wait for my shift to try your entertainment process
My guy thank you so much for your effort. Why you don’t ask your boss to switch the paint line from this to Spies or Chromax trust me is way easier and faster. If one day I spray PPG imma do what you’re doing in this video. Thank u.
Hi Gabe, well that looks Nice!! Nice!! Nice!!😁great job once again and the finish you get from your base and clearcoat is simply amazing. I'm just a hobby/diy painter I do have a paint scheme but it's just a solvent based system. Your PPG scheme does seem very complex with all the additives and modifiers you use I just don't understand why they are all needed🤔other water based systems don't seem to need them but what do I know I'm no expert🤷♂😂John UK
Im wondering if at some point if you could show what happens with static on a surface and what happens when you paint it , you probably have done this but i missed it if you did thx
Iam sure ppg is the most complicated paint scheme to understand such a lot of modifiers and options I would have my job finished using Lechler before you have decided what products to use and mixed them, nice job though Gabe
Gabe Been using this method all week using the tips from your last video it works great for Ppg Envirobase Thanks again for all of your tips!!! Have a great weekend..
I spray it the same way he shows reducing 20% for solid colors 30% for metallics. I’ll say make sure you don’t lay the first coat on too heavy which is an issue when first trying this. Let that first coat start flashing and when you see that blue tint look fading (but still wet) give it that second coat. Just be careful with reds that take 527 tint because it hates being laid too heavy causing a reaction that looks like there was wax on the panel. I say that because on those reds give it a little extra time to flash so you aren’t putting so much product on top on each other causing that reaction.
Well I’m going to give it a shot what you really think about Sikkens is any good? Have you ever sprayed spies hecker or chromax? Thank you so much for answering!
I personally think sikkens is great! Sealers come in multiple colors and the clear coats are great! Also if you are in a production shop i’d recommend getting the UV primer in Rattle can or it comes sprayable out of a gun but for small repairs or even medium size one it’s great. I haven’t used those brands, I used to spray what he’s spraying in this video I believe ppg envirobase. I’d take sikkens over that any day and hearing from other painters in the area that have tried sikkens over other water based paints love it
