Greetings. I have bought a Tekna Pro Lite. I would like to know what other additional picks I can buy for this weapon and have more versatility in my finishes. On this channel I have seen that the T110 pick can be used for a more crystalline clear. However, I I would like to get more out of it. I bought my pro lite with the TE20 and HV30 picks. I would also like you to explain to me what it means to keep the pro lite with the original configurations. If you can be specific to keep the weapon with its original regulations. I appreciate your contributions to continue improving my automotive finishes.

Hi,remember from a older video of yours saying that you use an 14.6cfm compressor,wondering if that can manage the T20?ps have same size compressor and looking to get a T20 Thanks
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 2 месяца назад
Hi Mate, it can just handle the TE20 cap. I think the TE20 is said to be about 12 cfm, It also depends on how much you're doing and the size of you holding tank, certainly 2 or 3 panels is possible but the compressor will be going all the time, a good diaphragm regulator also helps as it keeps the pressure consistent when the holding tank gets lower

@peteshobbies5383 Yes,better sticking with the small guns than. Doing mostly smart repairs 1-2 panels.Using an lph80 and an ANI r160 but would like to get a clear gun that can handle a bit more. Many thanks for the reply

@byba07se1 I understand, 1 or 2 panels will be fine with a 14 cfm compressor

Hi Gregory, Thanks, mate , I got all my caps off Ebay in the UK over a period of a few years. They are expensive from a Devilbiss dealer, so it the best way to do it, although you can't always get them when you want. Have a happy and healthy New Year buddy, cheers 🍻

Pete I forgot to tell you.I talked to the gunman and he gets a flatter finish and less orange peel results with prolite 1.2 with t110 air cap. When spraying clearcoat
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 9 месяцев назад
Hi Mate, Yep, that's the normal setup with the T110 for a flat finish. The 1.2 flows less material but with the same air flow, so a smaller tip works better. The Iwata W400 WB2 is the same, 1.2 instead of 1.3, and the W300WB is better in 1.2 than 1.4, although with that, you can just back the fluid off a little and it's just like a 1.2. The 1.2 also works well with the TE10 cap for clear. Of course, they, the TE10 & T110, are quite slow with the 1.2 bit, but that's often the price you pay, cheers mate 👍

Very much appreciated, I use the TE10&20 caps, small vs big compresser. Have the HV 30 also, but can’t use because of air consumption. Spraying in boat yards I have to choke these things down, by about half I would say. Would love to blow them out, and use as they were intended. Still getting a quality finish, although a bit more peel than I would like. Still learning. Thank you again, cheers Sir

Hi Bryan, I used to have an HV30 5 or 6 years ago and eventually sold it because it just used so much air. These day's I have lots of air so was able to get another a year or so ago and have been enjoying using it, it's designed to save material which it certainly does but obviously at the expense of air. The TE10 & TE20 combination is a great combination, shame you have to hold them back. Cheers, mate 👍

@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 9 месяцев назад
Hi Andy, What you get with these is a very good all-rounder with the ability to change it into many different types of spraygun just by changing the cap. The Sagola incidentally is the same. The Sagola is better made, although no more reliable, where the Devilbiss wins is in the availability of parts and caps, there's a huge number sold so part are available on Ebay most of the time, not the case with the Sagola

Hi Pete, a very detailed look at all the caps for the GTI ProLite I don't think some people realise just how many caps are available for this gun and there is one there that I didn't know about and that's the T3 (TE30) probably because it's normally on a different gun🤔 I can imagine that this video took you a while to do as there must have been a lot of setting up involved so thanks for taking the time to do it mate it was very interesting and it should be very handy for those that are thinking about buying one of these guns👌👍

Hi John, I've wanted to do an update on one of the first videos I did but had sold my HV30 and gun a few years ago. I managed to get another HV30 at the start of the year, then the HV25 a few months ago, so I was all set to do it again, hopefully better this time. The TE30 is a pressure feed cap but works with the gravity gun. It's a small pattern, quite wet but finely atomised, so quite flat, I will do a video with it one day. Happy New Year, mate, cheers 🍻

It's a great update video Pete, your filming, editing and voiceover skills are a 100 times better and this version is very professionally done👌 You mentioned in the video that the TE30 is for a pressure feed gun so I wonder how many more Devilbiss caps will fit and work on the GTI ProLite🤔It would be interesting to see a video on the TE30 mate to see how well it works on this gun👍 I'm hoping to post the first of the new tanks up tomorrow providing it all goes well and doesn't rain that is🤞cheers Pete and a Happy New Year to you and your family🥳👍

It'll be interesting to see what you have been up to mate, I'll keep a look out tomorrow, although it is supposed to be raining, fingers crossed 🤞 Cheers mate, happy new year 🎉 👍

I am running an older style GTI with 110. Curious what sort of psi, fan and fluid flow settings yoy would run for baseciat and clear coat with it? Would you still run a 1.2 tip on the older gun? I look to have a 1.4 tip although I have a 1.3 i swapped out some time back for some reason. Only the one needle though which is a GTi 413. Not sure if that is a suitable match now for both or either tip? I get my clear pretry flat just looking to find that last bit of consistency. Thanks in advance. And great informative video.
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 4 месяца назад
Hi Lee, for clear coat I would run at 29psi with a full fan together with full fluid, however if you are running a bigger tip with the 110 then I would back the fluid off a little, normally because you seem to get a flatter finish with the 110 and a 1.2 tip. The base coat obviously depends on a lot of variations, but generally, I'm around 2 1/2 turns out on material , full fan, and around 24 to 26 psi. Normally, on these guns, the needle is the same for all the tip sizes, so what you have should be fine 🙂
@leepatterson4009
@leepatterson4009 4 месяца назад
Thanks for the reply. I reckon last time I finished dialling my settings in for basecoat I was on 2.5 turns. So that's good to know. My gauge could be off a bit though as I was around 18psi for base and around 22psi in clear. I think much more air and I might be in danger of runs left right and centre. I will try and nip it up a bit next time see as I seem to remember running around 25psi in the past for clear.

@leepatterson4009

Hi Pete.. no it's not got a digital gauge. I have a regulator and gauge screwed to the bottom. The gauge bit is only a cheap eBay item.
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 4 месяца назад
The only reason I was asking was that the readings you have for pressure seem quite low. The digital version measures the pressure at a different point, so the readings are lower than at the base of the gun. Sounds like you're doing well considering the pressure you are using. No harm is trying a little more if you feel like it. Cheers Lee 👍

Caps from even the jga will fit the pro lite , I have a 'conv pro 03' that's very similar to the t3 you have there (and similar results) . Also I have both pressure fed and gravity pro lite , the te10 feels the same on the pressure fed as the the te20 does on the gravity if you were ever interested in knowing . Having said that , I would (and do) prefer the trans tech 510+ on the advance hd , and speaking of the advance hd , I think it's a better gun than the pro lite 👍 If you ever find an adv hd at a reasonable price , I'd highly suggest you give it a thought . To explain the gun , it's basically what you would get if you mixed a sagola 4600 with a pro lite 👍👍

Hi Andrew, I think Devilbiss have evolved these guns in a way where they keep a lot of backward compatibility, something many manufacturers could do but choose not to simply to make money, I think. I have got a Devilbiss Avance HD with a 510 cap, I'll do a review on it soon as I've had it for 6 months now, I've been very impressed with it particularly for clear coat in 1.4, I certainly prefer the sealing system, like the Sri Pro Lite to the Gti Pro Lite white sealing ring, cheers mate 👍
@andrewntoth1
@andrewntoth1 9 месяцев назад
@peteshobbies5383 yeah the gasket and manifold (for lack of knowing what it is actually called) on the front of the jga , pro and pro lite are interchangable , the difference being in the air and fluid needle inside the base its self is what makes them spray differently from what I can tell 👍👍 . As for the advance , yeah they're much easier to keep clean! , I look forward to seeing your opinion on the gun . And on that thought , thank you for all your time in creating vids for people like me to watch over the year(s) and all the best for next year , thanks mate 👍👍

Thank you very much for the informative video! I will likely be picking up a hv30 to save on some basecoat! I have the t110 and a 1.3 and i love it for clear, would turning the fluid in not make it the same as running a 1.2? Im a slow painter and spray it at about 1.5- 2 turns out on fluid of about 6 to be wide open.. would there be an advantage to dropping to a 1.0? How is that different than just turning a 1.8 way down.. Im looking for the flattest finish possible Thank you for your time -Caleb

@peteshobbies5383 6 месяцев назад
Hi buddy, I have a 1.1 tip here, but I haven't tried it yet. I was going to try it with the T110 just to see if it was better for a flat finish than the 1.2, I will get round to it 😉 Turning the fluid down can often work fine, but it doesn't always equal the smaller tip. I'm not sure why, but my guess is there's a little disturbance around the fluid it passes the needle, which isn't there if the needle is fully retracted. After all, as you say, if it made no difference and taken to it's logical extreme, they would only need to make one gun with a 1.8 tip, and you just turn it down , cheers mate👍
@Flemishify
@Flemishify 6 месяцев назад
@@peteshobbies5383 Thank you for your prompt response! Ah the disturbance of the flow makes sense! I will have to get my hands on a smaller tip and give it a go! I have yet to find a 1.1 Iv got most of the air caps for this gun now and enjoy playing around with them, I have 2 t110s both of which are original devilbiss.. but I was wondering if you know if there is a difference between the one that says on the bottom "high efficiency t110"and the one that says "trans tech t110" on it? Different part numbers on spraygunsdirect being pro-100-t110-k and pro-102-t110-k.. do you know if they are the same? Thanks a lot for your time -Caleb
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 6 месяцев назад
@Flemishify Hi buddy, that's often the way. A smaller tip slows it down but can atomise finer, normally because the same amount of air is controlling less material. The caps are the same, just for an older model. The main difference, apart from the markings, is that the Pro 100 has a chromed outer ring, and Pro 102 has a matte outer ring
