@@fpberserk4690 so end of the world and all his friends dying isnt being faithful? Yeah sure this was the anime that inspired evangelion which then inspired crybaby bringing it in full circle.
@@benolr64 it was faithful to the most part, netflix just modernized it, 009 adapted the jinmen fight correctly but Crybaby took the 1980 OVA fight which in turn strayed from the manga
As much as I enjoyed Devilman Crybaby, they really dropped the ball on the Jinmen fight, which was one of my favorite fights from the original manga due to how brutal and psychologically fucked up it was. The Crybaby version was such a huge letdown. The Cyborg 009 vs Devilman version did this battle way more justice.
The fight against jinmen is not the best part of crybaby but it was Indeed a great adaptation. Cause it adapts the problems thematics of our era, so it's normal that somethings change. The current context is différent
You know what personally makes Jinmen so terrifying to me (aside from his design, of course)? The fact that even among his fellow demons, he's a true monster. To elaborate: Beginning with Sirene and Kaim (especially Kaim) we are shown, especially in the manga spin-offs that demons, in spite of their nature, are still sentient beings like us, and as such, they are fully capable of feeling and express emotions, even love, empathy and compassion. They may despise humanity (and rightly so, since they stole the Earth from them), but most of the time they are shown to deeply care about each other and they can create strong bonds of camaraderie among each other. But Jinmen truly was the worst of them all. If you think about it, he's just like a serial killer: not only killing simply by the pleasure of it but also keeping his victims's faces on his shell so that he can happily hear their suffering. But that's not even the worst of it: he's even willing to eat other demons, his own kind. If there ever was a demon that deserved to be ripped apart by Devilman it was Jinmen.
Eating each other is actually natural to them, since their world used to be like primate food change where the strong lives and the weak gets consumed, but i agree the rest of your thoughts
@@atommaverick During prehistoric times, yes eating each other to survive was natural among demons. But by the time Satan assumed leadership of the demons or by the time of their awakening from their slumber in modern times, they are shown to no longer do that. Perhaps because they now had a common enemy in mankind? Or because humans taste much better to them? Either way, they are never shown doing that in modern times.
A tmnt and Devilman story applying themes and messages from both stories that takes place during the events of the original storylines would be interesting.
@@user-wz2et4vd4k History is good but the animation is uncomfortable and strange, I liked it but I prefer a devilman adaptation with the style of this Do devilman vs cyborg 009
