Too many draft picks in the lottery have shaky jump shots. Hopefully the Spurs scouts can project which guys can realistically improve. I’m a big fan of Holland if he can improve his jumper.

Risacher and Topič make the most sense, they already have pro ball experience.

Castle at 4 and Devin at 8,?

No I don’t think that would be a good idea to draft two guards. I think they would either draft Castle at 4, or Carter at 8. Then a wing with the other pick

2 sleepers for the 2nd round are Guard Vonterius Woolbright 6'6 215 Western Carolina and F Jaedon Ledee 6'9 240 San Diego State.

Bro I get the feeling Dilly is gonna be a demon on the offessive end, don't seem likely the spurs are gonna draft him though so im cool with either Castle or Carter, if they draft Castle they gotta draft a good shooter alongside him.
@SpursSpotlight

Facts. I really like Dilly, but I don’t think the Spurs want him because of his defense. I would take Castle next up. For the wings I would like Buzelis, Holland, or Cody Williams

I feel like spurs should go for a 3 and a 1 with there top two picks not two PG's

Yeah for sure. Definitely not 2 guards

I think Castle has more upside than Carter but Carter might be more NBA ready right now. I don't think the Spurs need a ready to play PG in this draft, Tre will be better out of the gate than any PG they draft so they might as well go for upside.
@SpursSpotlight

Yeah that’s what I was saying in the video. Carter is probably the best NBA ready prospect, but in a couple of years, other prospects will begin to catch up and overtake him

I definitely agree with you. I think Castle should be picked up by the Spurs

Carter at 4 and Da Silva at 8. both can shoot and defend. Not Allstars but dependable core players. 2025 is where the Spurs get their second AllStar to pair with Victor

Either Holland at 4. Castle at 8 or maybe castle at 4 and Tidjane Salaun at 8?
@SpursSpotlight

I wouldn’t be mad at that.. you could even consider Cody Williams at 8
@chrisrega4372
@chrisrega4372 3 месяца назад
@@SpursSpotlight Cody is a good pick too. honestly I wouldn’t even be mad if one of the guys drafted became our Manu/6th man. As long as we don’t trade for a pg. all the pgs will kill our cap and flexibility.

Devin Carter and Castle played against each other in college. Carter actually guarded Castle. Carter is 2-3” shorter than Castle, but has a 6’8” wingspan. Carter can hold is own against a taller player on a switch, but isn’t a wing. Carter can play 1-2. Castle can play 1-3, but is clearly less of a PG right now. If you are looking for a PG who can step in next season, that is Carter. Carter shot well in his last season at Providence and can defend. Castle last played PG in high school and the big question mark about him is his offense. If Castle truly wants to be a PG in the NBA, he is more of a project which big upside potential IF he can develop his shot. Carter may not have the same upsides, but he has all the tools right now with a big wingspan and a 42” vertical jump. I’d bet that Carter held his own in playing against Castle. You also have to keep in mind that SA is trying to make gains next season towards eventually becoming a contender. Most fans want to see them making the play-in. SA can’t do that with projects. Carter should be an upgrade from Trae on day one and that is what SA needs along with a wing who can shoot and provide floor spacing for Wemby.

If we were to draft Carter, I feel the Spurs should swing for a wing with upside like Cody Williams, Holland, or Buzelis
@ccdccd8615
@ccdccd8615 3 месяца назад
@@SpursSpotlightAnd here is the frustrating part of this draft. All the wings in this draft with the possible exception of Risacher can either defend or shoot. Lots of people are high on Holland, but his shot is suspect. Cody and Buzelis both need to add 20-30 pounds to keep from being pushed around in the NBA. And both have deficiencies on defense or offense. I like Salaun and he is showing signs of potentially being a beast on both sides of the ball along with😢 having a NBA body right now, but he is raw and not likely to contribute much next season. Even though SA may be picking at 8 for a wing, there isn’t anyone who is a sure bet at that spot.
@ccdccd8615
@ccdccd8615 3 месяца назад
This is why, if Risacher, by some miracle, is on the board when SA picks at 4, he is a no-brainer pick.
@ccdccd8615
@ccdccd8615 3 месяца назад
Even if Risacher is not available at 4 and SA takes someone like Carter at 4, SA would potentially be better off with someone like Kinect than Cody or Buzelis. Dalton is one of the best shooters in this draft, has an NBA body and looks ready to go right now.

I would love Castle at 4. If you look at the way pop wanted to run the offense in the beginning of the season last year with Jeremy running the point. Castle would be a perfect fit in scheme. And with Luca and SGA and Morant. We need a defensive of guy at point.

@@SpursSpotlight I’m pushing for Castle to be on this team. He’s a low key leader and will help right the ship when we get a little complacent at times on offense. He can move the ball and is used to the type of offense we have due to his time at UConn. I’m super high on this kid!! GSG!!!

There's a real chance the Spurs could actually get Risacher AND Dillingham. The Spurs SHOULD trade #4, Collins and #48 to move up to maybe #2 or #1 if possible. Pick Risacher. They should then trade #8, Keldon Johnson, Trae Jones and Devonte Graham for Lonzo Ball Alex Caruso and #11. Use #11 to pick Dillingham. Then sign Isiah Hartinstien, Bol Bol, Drummond and Nic Batum . Backcourt becomes elite with 6'6 Ball and 6'5 Carruso, 6'5 Vessel, 6'3 Dillingham Elite size, elite defense, elite passing, excellent shooting and spacing. Super sized, super versatile frontcourt 7'4 Wemby, 7' Hartinstien, 7'3 Bol, 6'11 Drummond, 6'8 Batum, 6'8 Sochon, 6'9 Risacher , 6'8 Osman This team is a legit playoff contender with depth. It would have elite level defense. Shooting at every position. It fits the cap. Enough core remains to have good chemistry. The players fit the style of play Pop likes. The gamble is Ball's feet/ankles. If he can be 90-100% by Feb the gamble pays off. This is somewhat less of a gamble than picking a 19-20yo rookie without NBA experience. Ball says he's about 70% now which means he's likely closer to 50-60%. He could be 70%-75% by training camp and 90%-95% by Jan. Ball was an elite player before the injury. Ball and Caruso made up one of the best backcourts in the league before the injury. They had the Bulls humming towards real playoff contention. Together, they played elite defense. With Wemby that defense gets exponentially better. They shot the ball well too. Add Dillingham and Vessel and it's a deep, versatile, extremely complimentary to Wemby backcourt. Bol Bol is very underrated. Grouped with Wemby,Hartinstien and Drummond, he becomes the best version of himself. 7'3 with most of the attributes of Wemby but less drive and confidence. With Wemby he pushes harder to be his best(I believe). Regardless, it gives a great, versatile C/PF group(Wemby and Bol could potentially even play SF for short spurts). Vet Batum, Osman can tutor Risacher and Sochon while putting up solid minutes. This Spurs team could become better than the Giannis Bucks team that won the Chip within a couple years.
