He's doing fry screams, so it's much easier to transition between the 2, plus he's not putting huge amounts of pressure into it, still highly impressive none the less
The guy never, EVER sounds bad. Even on the roughest bootlegs I've seen, his voice always punches through whatever giant pile of garbage there maybe be in between us.
@@Foxillon your so lucky to have been so close to Che and Devin and yes she is beautiful and a great singer and we'll what can you say about Devin such a talented musician
Was at this show and absolutely floored that they used NOTHING but themselves to play to... especially all the Empath tracks. UNREAL. Gotta see this show.
Even in a black see through tutu he's still the man. This is what metal is about. Pushing the fucking limits of music. Devin townsend you deserve far more than has been given to you though you already are the richest man in the world. Great family and the best fans a musician can ask for. Never stop pushing the limits.
Absolute joy watching this performance, watching Dev be Dev, seeing Diego laughing almost the entire time, seriously one of the most important musicians/composers in my life Devin is.
Thanks for uploading!! This is great! Devin plays in Tilburg this evening. I had a ticket but i'm ill at home ... waiting for my husband to come home and tell me how the show was. ;)
i love the part at 6.16 when he goes from awesome growling to adorable opera, got tickets for Budapest 9 days from today...it will be the third time for me seeing this genius live
he said he selected players for their improvisational strengths, so you may very well not get the same show...it's not as thematic/story based as other tours i think, so there can be maximum variation between gigs if desired
I just can't stop laughing. If no one else who other than Devin Townsend? He just never stops delivering.......something new. He just refuses a genre of any type, and more power to him for it.
Funny, I was listening to King Crimson, or rather ProjeKct One, when I came upon this.. Not sure I will survive the cultural shock, lol. But as I love both Dev and KC (in its myriad incarnations) maybe I will simply acknowledge that both are awesome, just from different musical dimensions.
With this whole record I get this Zappa vibe.. more craziness and zappa-ish melodies. Like it. But I'm glad there were some golden oldies in his set. Think I still like those melodies better.
