He doesn't play bass on Clockout, Bob 2 does. He also plays drums on Bottled Up

I think he was off because he couldn't hear the sequences.

Late response, but it’s because it’s a live show, all the instrumentals are the same as the studio recording, just not all the volumes are mixed well

A lot of bands who used sequencers back in that time had a lot of trouble just getting the stuff to work on stage half the time. New Order had equipment practically burst into flames whenever they'd play something like Perfect Kiss up until the later half of the 80s when MIDI became much more stable as opposed to cv gate syncing. I'm amazed Devo even tried to play something like Disco Dancer or Shout here cause it was all mostly written on the Fairlight CMI. And tbh shout sounds wayyy better here. Maybe cause Bob 1s guitar is audible lol
