The good thing about cordless tools is, you can use them anywhere you like, like away from your tool organizers, so you don't splitter them with quick set mud.🙂

I’ve had it two years, mixes cement, mortar using a level 5 7” mix bit. Also have attached a 4” and followed with a 6” auger. Bullet proof.

@@keiferdew622 I went to my nearby lake and tested it out with a 10" strikemaster power auger bit and a drill adapter from walmart. Using a 12.0 flexvolt. I drilled a 34" hole in 22 seconds. It's the ultamate ice fishing drill I gotta say.

I just bought DCD999 but am now looking at this beast for mixing and drilling stuff that would tax the hammer drill I just bought. Question though. Will this drill take FV 9AH batteries? Second question is can this take much bigger drill bits or hole saw bits vs the DCD999. Its probably a no brainer but I like seeing your responses. 9 times out of 10 they make my day. Pure entertainment.

I must ask, what is the length of the mixing paddle your using with mixing the the drywall mud? I picked up the DCD130 but I'd like the length your using so I can mix some cement, drywall, paint whatever I throw at it. I can use this tool for mixing 5 gal buckets of ceiling paint even though you could box the paint with an empty 5 gal bucket. I really wanted this mixer for cement cus I do parging now and then and I want to use it for the posts for a pergola.

Just got this drill - immediately noticed a strange behavior that I haven't seen in any vids on YT - my dcd130 seems to not turn on at first when the trigger is squeezed when about 30 seconds goes by between uses & the light has turned off - I have to squeeze the trigger twice to get it to run if the light is off, then it runs normally with the light on - is this some safety feature, or is something wrong?

When would you use the Dewalt hole hawg in place of this mixer for drilling holes? Is there any joist hole applications that you think this mixer/drill would not be suited?

@@hammerandhome I thought the DCD130 mixer/drill does have an e-clutch. It's shown in the specs. Is the e-clutch on the hole hawg different?

Hi Brad, The DeWalt mixer looks like beast and it must be great to drill some holes. I do like that e-clutch system on the dewalt. I have the milwaukee m18 mud mixer and i do like the handle adjustment on the milwaukee a little better then the dewalt. Still, both great tools to have. Thanks for the video

@@ncirineo5802 Yeah, looks like dewalt has more rpm. Don't get me wrong i use both brands (milwaukee and dewalt). I like the milwaukee for my needs and handle adjustments. I haven't tried the dewalt but it does have that nice e-clutch system which is nice if you use it to drill holes. I hope the dewalt works out for your needs.

Watching this while Icing my swollen hand and wrist after twisting it while drilling a 3/4 auger bit through a ceiling joist. Thinking there's got to be a better way....

Ouch. Yeah don’t use this for drilling holes. Better to use a hole hawg. It has a clutch in it.

Will it mix bags of concrete? I have been using my dewalt 20v hammer drill for mixing mud and thin set for years and never had a problem. If this will mix bags of concrete it would be something to buy for sure.

i haven't tried mixing concrete with it, i'll do a video on that as well, I think it could but you would have to add the concrete to the water very slowly to allow proper mixing, but not sure.

I considered this one for concrete mixing. I have a drum mixer but wanted something for small batches that didn't involve lugging all that around. I found and purchased a Hand-Held Dual Paddle Mixer, 2-13/32 HP, 120V Motor Mfr #: BNR6402K. There were some really expensive ones on the market (like Collomix) for commercial/pro use. But I've been having nothing but fun mixing 40-50 lb batches of concrete easily in five minutes or less in Homer Buckets with the BN. It will handle bigger batches in bigger containers, which I also have. It will do drywall mud like it was margaritas. It does great with concrete as it is rated for concrete mixing, and comes with the paddles. It's corded, not battery-powered. I still may get the Dewalt DCD130 for holes and mud, but even as powerful as it is, I wouldn't use it for concrete. My guess is that for concrete, single paddle mixing takes too long, and will give you inconsistent results. The dual paddle is just sweet, smooth, and fast. Disclaimer: I'm not a pro, just home DIY projects. But the BN dual paddle is awesome, so far. This video also has me wondering if the newer Dewalt DCD470 might not work well for mud and concrete as well.

its a variable speed motor so you can keep it running slow, some thinsets don't want you to use a power mixer because it can put to much air into the mix.
