This tape is well-designed and durable. The belt hook is a major improvement and the extension and retraction mechanism and action is awesome. I like using this tape, its smooth and fast.
the end of the tape measure is loose so that it is accurate whether you push it against a wall or hang it on a corner while measuring . it moves the width of the metal to do this
Can anyone please tell me where I can still buy this MADE IN USA version? Seems like Dewalt has already shifted production of this tape to Thailand that's why you'll always get that version. What's so annoying though is sellers still advertising their tape measures as made in usa even though they are made in thailand.
I recently broke my 25' FatMax and just purchased a new 25' Milwaukee magnetic tape measure. I really like the magnetic hook (I didn't expect too and it is very strong), the coating on the entire tape reel, markings on both side of the tape reel and last, but not least ... the case measures 3-1/2" front to back ... not 3-1/16", 3-1/8" or 3-3/8". Seems like a small detail, but that can really help avoid some layout miscalculations.
Kreepy Pasta I am too a Fatmax tradesman, I tried Milwaukee, but did not like it, flimsy, end hook bends easy, blade cracked , blade creases easy. Belt hook i did like.
Where I live we use imperial (inches, nothing else) for, as far as I know, only 3 (and a half) applications, screen sizes, rim sizes and chainsaw bars...and about 50% of older guys will use it for lumber. Some measuring tapes come with combined metric and imperial, and I would never buy one. They are already crowded enough, why use 50% of the limited space for something you'll never need?
@@OwLoLz idk, why won’t the uk drive on the right side of the road like everyone else? Point is every country has its own system. I know it takes a brain to understand imperial but it’s not impossible.
Lufkin all the time. The side is 90" and can be used as a fast square. Doesn't look like a sand shoe either. No rubber over mould and cost is good. Don't drop it and it will last for years. Just looked on there web site and they don't make them anymore. They have gone to the sand shoe!!! Crap! I hate change.
