I use chrome sockets on air impacts as well as cordless. Some rims only fit Chrome. Luckily never had any explode or brake. My co worker has a socket that has cracks in two places on his socket through and through and he still uses it and it’s been 20 plus years he said and it still hasn’t busted
@@koriyuhboi436 those black (crmo) and chrome (crv) color not made for style bro, doesn't care about your story but it made for what it is, get back school 20plus year ago please.
I would have went for Milwaukee if lowes carried it. But since they only carried dewalt I went with dewalt. I'm still happy I haven't had any problems with any of my dewalt products
You made the right choice Dewalt is a American company Milwaukee is a Chinese company Dewalt is gen 1 tool the Milwaukee is a gen 2 not fair comparison
@loucifer4205 well not anymore my new DCF900 impact says made in Mexico or China I can't remember but it's not usa anymore. But it's still holding up with over a year of abuse
@@dillonkoch72 Dewalt might have some tools made in Mexico and China but it's still a American company Milwaukee is a Chinese company made with slave labor
I didn't like this video for one reason and that is why would you use an adapter with a socket? Why didn't you just used an impact socket? Anytime you use an adapter you lose power that's a fact.
Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ru-vid.comUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.
*I like the features of the LED light on both the drill and the **MyBest.Tools** . I also like the contractor bag where I carry drill bits and driver attachments. So far the batteries hold charges to my satisfaction.*
I don't see anything wrong with this application. I've seen people prefer putting in lags with impact wrenches or hammer drills over using impact drivers. Plus, he is doing an apples to apples comparison so they are on the same playing field the whole time.
A lot of times using Big Lag bolts to attach a ledger board to the house for a new deck. Attach angle iron brick ledge over doors and windows those are two a 1/4 in impact driver will never be able to do
I know these tests are fun, but speed is just one variable, and I would argue the least important. Especially if the difference is so minimal. I would look at durability and longevity. I put my Dewalt through hell. I have a full line of Dewalt, from Impact wrench to angle grinder and everything inbetween. Not one Dewalt tool has let me down and I beat them up. If you have Dewalt, Makita or Milwaukee, you will be just fine.
There is so much wrong with this comparison its not even funny! I own both, so i have no loyalty of one over the other. 1. Why an adapter? 2. Ever hear of impact sockets? Impact guns benefit from the added mass of the heavier sockets.
I been an auto tech for over 11 years. Yes I have impact sockets but when I’m in a hurry I grab whatever is close. I have used impacts on chrome sockets literally thousands of times. Never seen one brake. You guys just hear something on the internet and think it’s gospel without any real world knowledge. It’s no big deal.

Milwaukee is definitely the more tool but my dewalt has been reliable to me even I abuse it. My Milwaukee tool battery alway seem to kill themselves. Had a fairly new m18 high output xc6.0 battery on my Milwaukee high torque install and one job the battery fail. My luck with Milwaukee battery is horrible went through 1 (3 months old) m18 xc6.0, 3 (2.5 year old) m18 xc4 and 2 (one was 2 years and other about 3 year old) was m12 battery just in the past 2 years. I abuse my dewalt tools and battery way more and only has one old 12v (2010 battery but I had it for 5 years) battery fail on me in the past 2 years. Hopefully I have better luck with their battery in 2021 because both company have some great tools and their a few Milwaukee tools that I have my eyes on.
Next time please give more attention to the battery sizes and power also do not leave the Milwaukee trigger going longer than the DeWalt like this video in the end
Dewalt all day I use these tools for work provided by my company here in Chicago im a lineman and I converted to dewalt. By this test was a waste of time next by one to stubborn bolts to take off and we’ll see which gun takes it off not just fast buy which one takes it off.
I have a dewalt impact DCF899. The other day we used it to snug up some bills so we could hit them with a torque wrench. At 200 ft lbs the wrench popped with very little movement. We actually had to back them off and start over using only the torque wrench. My whole power tool arsenal is dewalt
Dewalt is a better tool company they're American Milwaukee is a Chinese company and the Chinese are notorious for using inferior products, guys on the jobsite who use Milwaukee their are always breaking the guys with Dewalt and Makita never have a problem with their tools, why do you think Milwaukee always making gen 2 or3 while Makita and Dewalt are still on gen1 because Milwaukee tools suck do it right the first time and you won't have to make a gen2 or 3
@@marekkrepa9982 Yes Makita is definitely better, Milwaukee is worst of the professional tool companies they put a lot of their tools without thoroughly testing them and don't give me the warranty bullshit either, do you think these want to warranty their tools, they're are hoping you didn't fill out the warranty paperwork or even better yet you don't even bring it in which most people don't myself included, every tool is great when you first use them it's how they perform a year or two down the road just like cars
@@loucifer323 i use Milwaukee for 22 yers and each tool works fine for minimum 4 years with heavy work. Bought makita once and after 18 months it's garbage. PS are you from Europe and what do you do for living : building kites or hanging paintings an wall for old ladies?
I don't know if some one already wrote this but... with that fuel impact if your not using high output batteries you aren't benefitting from the 50 percent more power that's how you get the 1400 ftlbs
I still say DeWalt is more reliable and durable compare to Mill. Why the battery actually stays in place with DeWalt unlike the Mill the battery jiggles
Great video. If you weren't invested in either platform, which would you go with? I'm looking at the Dewalt mid torque impact wrench and the Milwaukee mid torque wrench. I see the Milwaukee is more powerful but I the ergonomics look better on the Dewalt. Both are on sale for $199 now too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It should be noted that the DeWalt in the video is using a 4ah battery, and the Milwaukee is using a 5ah battery. That alone can explain the very small edge for the Milwaukee. Larger batteries have greater discharge rates so it makes a difference. My dcf899 with a 8ah 21700 cell batteries or a 9ah FlexVolt 21700 batteries, would edge out that Milwaukee with that smaller 5ah battery.
@@tasoscharak_4345 because the chrome sockets are harder than the anvil and over time will wear your wrench's anvil out-was told that by my snap-on tool man years ago
I use both Milwaukee hits way harder but if you don’t need a lot of torque go with dewalt but Milwaukee m18 impact wrench is one of the best on the market
Both are great tools, the dewalt is about 4-5 years old still running strong ha been used every week doing suspension work and brake jobs. Milwaukee I have no doubt that is going to last a long time.
@@toolhead147 thanks for the info. I ended up borrowing one off of another guy I know. In the end I couldn’t reach most of my bolts with the impact wrench and had to spend lots of time with the breaker bar instead. I guess this knowledge is something I’ll use for a future project :-)
as much as I hate football game, the competition of power tools of different brands/co. are going on the same path really. team red VS team yellow, u see some r cheerleading for either one maybe unconditionally and/or unconsciously, so it’s really a matter of personal opinion n perspective, maybe it just has to be like that, like any major aspect in life some, say sports or politics..etc.
