Get Diatomaceous Earth on Amazon: goo.gl/xPDPb6 Becky shows you how to deworm your cats naturally without using any chemicals. This will help prevent roundworms, tapeworms, and heart worms in your cats.
I started doing this almost 2 years ago and have had no tapeworms since. I have 5 cats. One month 3 of my 5 got tapeworms. $125 to treat them all. Then a few months later, 3 different ones got tapeworms. $125. You wouldn't believe it but months later, yup, again. So I googled and found this video. Then I told all my friends and they're doing it as well. Now I post this video online all the time. Thank you
@@jubjubs1000 So you just going around trying to find people to be rude to? The person in the video doesn't say if you need more depending on the number of cats you have or not. This is why I was asking the person with 5 cats how much they were putting but, thanks to another RU-vidr I actually got a reply and answer to my question. I hope your day goes better for you so you can stop trying to bring others down.
Wow...i remember watching your vid when you built your house...it was amazing...years later...im randomly looking for how to naturally deworm my cat...and here you are...you do everything!
I started mixing it it my cats wet food and within 5 days he no longer has tapeworms! The vet wanted damn near $800 to treat him until someone recommended DE to me. This stuff really works and it's also good for human ingestion as well.
+Melissa Verdon ... the only thing I've ever gotten from a vet was a pill that had to be shoved down their throats! I've got tame INSIDE cats that aren't gonna' stand for that, much LESS ferals that don't come within 5-8 feet of a human, so I'm hoping for this to be the cure!
Yea it definitely works. I've been using it for quite some time now and there has been no signs of my cats having tapeworms, kidney problems or fleas. You can't go wrong with a product that offers so many health benefits, preventions and an extremely cheap price.
Thanks - great video. My doctor put me on the same food grade diatomaceous earth because he suspected I could have parasites in my small intestines. He made a good point I wanted to share: Because this physically breaks down the parasites/worms, you will not gain a resistance to it like a medication. It is safe to use for cats, dogs, and to put in your garden. It has been wonderful for me. I mix it with a small glass of water almost daily. It also combats candida overgrowth. Thanks again- homestead on!
Diatomaceous earth as soon as it gets wet doesnt work so once hits mouth and stomach will get wet so how would it work. Plus the micro shell cuts in it will injure the intestines
I'm surprised her cats aren't raw fed since she's so all natural. Been feeding my cats and dogs this way for more than 15 years and haven't had any worms since. It really helps to keep the immune system in good condition and makes them overall fitter and healthier. Would even be much cheaper, because she raises pigs and other animals for meat anyway :)
Just found this channel and have to put it out there: This lady is literally so pure and has the same vibe as Julia Child. (I never left a comment before on RU-vid so sorry if this makes no sense.) Her vibe is just chill and says it all nonchalantly yet still informative and to the point. Weird, but it's a good thing. Hopefully this will help with my cats and finally get rid of the worms. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this!! My mom and I have a colony we take care of and this was so much easier and cheaper than having to catch some ferals and risking getting them upset. We just ordered a bag and we’re starting their food on Tuesday! Thank you so much for your help!!!
I love your videos and diatomaceous earth is fantastic. I wanted to let you know about a cat’s diet however. Cats should primarily be fed a wet diet. In fact the best option is no dry. This is for many reasons. Cats do not have a thirst drive so rather than drinking they will normally eat... If the food they are eating is dry then they will not be hydrated enough... putting strain on their kidneys etc... can lead to urinary tract infections etc. Cats also require ZERO carbohydrates and in fact have no enzymes in their saliva to start breaking down the carbs. They have a very difficult time breaking down carbs/sugars at all. A primarily dry diet is therefore the primary cause of the high incidence of diabetes now seen in cats... as well as obesity and kidney failure. Kibble (for cats and dogs) is a convenient and cheaper option In feeding your animals however it is not any optimal diet. Carbs have to be added to kibble in order for the kibble to be formed. Therefore kibble is extremely high in carbs. Dogs have a small requirement for carbs....much much less than what is in kibble and cats have a zero requirement for carbs. In addition most dry food is processed through high pressure and high heat which causes the nutrients to be lost...therefore the manufacturer adds back synthetic vitamins (not great). There is also research that shows that a ‘byproduct’ of that process can be cancer causing... hence leading to the higher incidence of cancer in pets. If you do use kibble you should store it in an airtight sealed container (preferably not plastic). This is because once the bag is opened the kibble starts to go rancid. For that reason any bag of kibble should be used within a months time of opening or you run the risk of your animal becoming sick from the rancid fat in the kibble. When I look for an animal food... I make sure to avoid certain ingredients which I am sure that specific food has many of. Some of the basic ingredients I avoid are corn (no nutritional benefit and high probability of it being genetically modified), soy (same reason as corn), any animal by-products (if the description says meat or poultry and does not mention the specific animal..then you have no clue what animal it is. With by-products you have no idea what you are getting.. dead or dying animals...animals that have been euthanized...or what leftovers of the animal), powdered cellulose (basically wood pulp), any hydrolyzed proteins (often included in a diet that is supposed to be for sensitive pets. It is basically a protein that is ‘broken down’ and highly processed so the body doesn’t recognize it as that protein... although it seems to be the latest fad to add to be able to market the food...it isn’t a good option, carrageenan (studies have linked to cancer)... etc Sorry, I know my comment is very long but my fear is that people see the dry and think it is a good diet to feed their cat... as well as seeing the brand you are feeding and mistakingly think it is a good choice if you do feed dry (sorry...it isn’t... that goes for their dog food as well). I adopted three cats that were all fed a primarily dry diet. One of them worse than the others. She was fed 100% dry... and a horrible one at that. She died of kidney failure and I hadn’t even had her 6 months. One of the others diet of kidney failure as well...I had him for around 6 years and he was fed 95% wet diet when he came to me... it was heart wrenching... and if I can prevent it from happening to anyone else. Unfortunately vets often recommend dry (traditional vets have little to no nutrition studies....same as a doctor...which is why we go to a nutritionist when we need nutrition information for ourselves and not a doctor who couldn’t be knowledgeable). One thing people are falsely told is that kibble helps clean the teeth because of the crunch. Unfortunately the exact opposite is true. Particles of the kibble are left on the teeth... high carb content... sugars.... lead to plaque. The reason I know the above is that I work for an animal feed and supply company and continually am reading and Learning about nutrition. The company I work for.. yes it is a business but the focus is on the best for the animals and not just in making $$.
wow very nice. for some people that can't afford wet food, there's a urinary care dry food and the best for all , buy a water fountain cats love it and drink a lot they're natural instinct is drink fresh water that's moving, when water is in motion it gets oxygen inside and makes it fresh and delicious for them.
@@jasonc5418 just buy the best quality dry you can get.. I wouldn't use urinary (the ones I'm familiar with are not the best quality). Add water to the kibble. Feed as much wet as you can. You really should aim for at the least 50/50. They need the moisture and it is unlikely they will drink enough water to make up for the dry. (I know it can be more expensive but some people feed dry because it is more convenient and they do not realise how bad it actually is. Also keep in mind vet bills are high and you want your kitty to be around for as long as possible. I adopted a beautiful cat who had been fed a 100% dry diet. I only had her a few months before she had kidney failure. We tried to save her but it was too late. Almost $2,000 later and Twiggy was gone. My young daughter had fallen in love with her...
Thanks so much for posting this!!! I have a cat that had a stubborn problem with tapeworms that medication would NOT eradicate. This worked like a charm and she is now worm free!! She is no longer bloated and her fur stopped shedding excessively. I happened to have food grade diatomaceous earth already, so it was VERY convenient. My cat thanks you and I thank you! God Bless...
@@yvngmel2148 Several months, but she had a bad case. Apparently, cats can get worms from hunting/eating birds, etc. that have them. She is an outdoor cat, that renters living next door to me, left behind when they moved. As a result she hunts quite a bit and may need this remedy periodically.
@@AnnaMathea I feed a few cats outside and saw one of them has worms. I do wet food or tuna for my indoor cat. Good to know next time I buy a big bag of cat food I can make sure all of them stay worm free.
I just discovered you today and I instantly subscribed. You sound like a fascinating person! My family of 11 lives for 8 years in the road in a travel trailer singing all over the USA but when covid hit, we settled on some farmland for who knows how long and are pretty much doing what you're doing, sans goats. I suddenly feel inspired to build a house! God bless you!
@@chasityfelix5054 i looked online it recommended after the kitten is weaned (which can be different lengths of time depending). If weaned then 4 -5 weeks old is ok. Be certain it is the FOOD GRADE D.E. because there is a second type used for a completely different purpose that cannot be ingested by animals or humans. Hope that helps
First off amazing video! And what a sweet soul! ❤️ BUT!!! It pisses me off when people judge or look down upon others for getting “cheap” pet food like purina etc.... or when something happens to their pet and they ask for help because they cant afford a vet and then someone says “you shouldn’t have a pet if you can’t afford them”. If only the people who could afford a vet bill ranging from 100-thousands at any given moment because something happens or getting $50+ pet food deserved to have pets then there would be HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS more homeless animals. We do what we can....I myself can’t afford expensive pet food (or even good quality human food at times) and i cant drop hundreds for a vet at any given moment but i know i give my babies the love and care they deserve. Also, a lot of medicines and treatments that come from a vet are horrible! So why not use a natural method if possible. Do your research and make a wise decision. Is the average pet food the best? Probably not. But it’s better than not feeding them anything at all or not giving a pet a home just because you can’t give them the best food. It’s like saying someone who takes their kid to McDonalds shouldn’t have a kid. Ridiculous 😑
My vet says there is no harm in Diatamaceous Earth and she gives it to her potbellied pigs! She wormed all my cats and agreed that this would KEEP them away.
Thanks Becky...just wanted to give you words of encouragement. I read some haters deplorable put downs. You're a great person and pay no mind to them. It's too bad haters just don't fall off the side of the earth. Keep up the good information.
+Nina Nathan I have an idea: why don't you just focus on the diatomoceous earth part and let the woman feed her cats what she wants? Did you see her telling you to feed your cat Purina?
MISS BECKY......1. It's YOUR channel, NOT theirs. 2. Some brats never grow up; they, unfortunately, CREATE more brats. Bad attitude is a self-chosen disability. Nothing to be proud of, but some are. 3. Boot their butts from your channel. You don't owe them nothing, seven years later. I'm new here, and liking your channel very much.
I imagine the kibble is just a supplemental thing? Mostly because if your cat is a farm cat then chances are they are eating things like bugs, mice, and sometimes birds and therefore is getting most of it's nutrients from 'raw' food.
You can get a large bag of DE food grade at Walmart as well as many feed and hardware stores. (Not that I promote walmart 😣) but its very cheap for the price, it can also be used in your yard for flea and ticks/any bugs as well as in the garden for pest control.
I started cooking for my kitties after I saw how bad kibble is for our beloved kitties. No more kibble for my babies. They said it will give them a longer life by 10 years! 🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜🌞🌞🌞
Thanks for this video! I just discovered a tapeworm segment on my cat for the first time, and I'm glad to know I can use the DE I already have on hand to treat this.
Wow Becky. I really loved your intro and the execution with this video. Such a pro! Thank you for this video and God bless you for saving my pockets and my cats
For everyone giving Becky crap about feeding kibble, maybe you should look at your own animals diet. 8/10 People that serve a raw diet to their pets do not do it properly and often miss crucial vitamins and minerals (in proper amounts) which is likely to cause bigger problems down the road. Sometimes kibble is the easiest, most cost effective way to provide a balanced diet without calculating and planning out a menu everyday. Cats and dogs are some of the heartiest creatures on this planet and and you will never know these issues are there until it's too late. Most people don't have the time or knowledge to feed a perfectly natural raw diet with everything that animal needs and therefore kibble is the best choice for them. Do not shame this animal-loving woman for making her own choice, as she has every right to do. A cat/dog being fed a raw diet is at an even greater risk than those getting fed kibble, ask any vet. Back off this women, she has the right to feed how she wants!
Thank you for posting this reply- of course we all want what's best for our animals. I looked into the whole raw food diet thing very seriously- I realized that with as many animals as I have I could not afford it. A good quality kibble is fine for my animals and I don't feel guilty about it. The whole point of Becky's video is to show the benifits of using DE. The trolls are everywhere.
bottom line is this.if folks have web access then they can also easily find out how to feed raw properly. just like folks like Becky whom i love and have a huge crush on) as well as others can find out what type of kibble is crap or not. so, nobody gets a pass to include BECKY nor do they get condemned because you like becky so much . Choice is obvious and what matters is making better choices. and yes that kibble is crap she's feeding.
Bailey you are so right. I think this women is awesome. If all people lived like that, cared for their pets like that, what a wonderful world we and the animals would live in.
This is a GREAT level-headed comment. You are so right in all that you have stated. I fed my beloved animals a raw diet for years and many of them died of weird things at young ages. I thought i was doing the best thing for them, but they died young and horribly anyway. I really like this girl Becky, and appreciate advice from someone who can build a house that fantastic, by herself, and is so full of joyful life. We are all trying to do what we can and can afford for our furry loves.
Should i deworm my cat first then supplement her with this diatomaceous earth powder in her food?? Or without deworming her (since i have never deworm her) can i start this supplement in her food?? Will this deworm my cat alone?
I am so glad this was the first video to show up for treating a cat with worms. I’ve got 4 kittens and 2 adults and 1 pile of wormy puke and now I can just treat them all, thank you so much
Becky it works to get rid of fleas too ❤️🙂 just have to use a small amount and just carefully work it into the cats fur so it gets to the skin , make sure to get the tail area where they hide and very carefully around they ears just behind their ears so as not to get it into their eyes ❤️🙂
That’s so cool! I found a kitten and she has runs, I cleaned her with my flea&tick shampoo but I’m looking for ways to handle the other issue, where Can you get this if you don’t mind?
Thanks for the video, it's very informative, I'm sorry people are so negative toward your video I think that they're just jealous that you've obviously been able to make it on your homestead and you're doing right by yourself and your animals don't pay any attention to them thank you for all your wisdom on how to deal with worms it's much appreciated,
Man I hope this works. My tom cat is pulling his hair out and I happened to see a white worm on his rectum. Never wormed a cat in my life. Spent 60.00 at Petco for worming medicine and I CANNOT get the medicine in him. He won't eat any wet cat food, raw meat, milk, tuna, cooked beef, nothing with the medicine in it or on it. I have a bag of diatomaceous earth for flea control. Will try this immediately. (it would be easier to put a condom on a bob cat than to get a pill down Cricket's throat. Vets want an arm and a leg. Please let this work!)
this is so helpful thank you I have known about diamacious for a very long time but sometimes the dosages can be confusing. I know you can use a half a teaspoon per pet for 7 Days on 7 days off to complete the 21-day cycle. This is a great tip because it is a gentle non-toxic thing to give pets so this is much easier for getting it in their system! Thank you.
I wish she showed the package or product, so I can see what to buy at the store. I'm so lost. I don't want to buy the wrong thing and end up killing my cat.
Thank you for sharing! For some reason, out of the blue when I was making the bed I had this idea & wondered if it would work, since I have some DE on hand & while researching it I ended up here. I'm going to try it. We all know how difficult it can be to take 3 cats to the vet for whatever difficulties each one can present, not to mention the expense, missing work, etc.
Becky, you're awesome! I love this idea. It's so simple and natural. Would ducks and geese benefit from some of this added to their food? Thanks so much for sharing.
DE can be even consumed by humans, it is non toxic, it kills parasites of all sorts, it typically kills even roaches as it cuts through their exoskeletons. Do not breath it though, it is like glass so it is not safe to do so.
Thanks so much for the recipe! I bought some today at the local Ace Hardware and have made the mix to feed to the feral cats. I discovered the worms today in the garden “litter box” . Will let you know how this works. Love your site and those sweet animals!
usually food grade comes at health food stores. The hardware store ones usually not good to use, at least where i live. Be careful! must say food grade on it.
Hi my sister, love your channel and videos. Your video on “Diatomaceous Earth” is very informative. I see you are giving it to your animals but do you take it as well to de-worm yourself since you live in a farm and have so many animals? If you have taken it then what are the benefits have you seen in yourself? Specially if you have noticed any side effect of this product. I thank you for your hard work and great information. Have a very blessed day!
Yes! Fourteen hours into the "diet"" AND three feedings....so far, life returns to the kitties! I will be posting as the week opens. I may detail the experiment and my recipe, permission to do so. Measurement/portions are needed, such as the age/weight, remember. EXAMPLE: One pound of food hold a mix of one half teaspoon. IS THAT CORRECT? I went with that.
Thank you SO much for this video! I have 3 cats and worms seem to be an ongoing thing as 2 of them are both indoors and outdoor cats. Putting pills down their throats is extremely difficult in addition to injuring my hands. This is awesome and they didn't notice any taste difference in their dry food.
I'm having the same problems with my cats..did the diatomaceous earth work for the worm problem... and how long did it take for the worms to go away... thanks
It worked right away. I never saw a worm, or remnants of them, again! My cats do not taste any of the powder on their food and ate immediately after I gave it to them. This has save me so much in the cost of pills and stress in giving it to them. I am a believer! Now if I could only find some magic potion this great to stop fleas!
Thank you so much im going to give it a try ... i dont know how to get rid of those pesky fleas i wish there was a way... i feel like im a bad fur parent everytime i have to go to vet to get dewormer... plus i only find a flea or 2 here or there but i guess maybe its the area i live in with these kind of fleas.... i dont ever remember my other 2 cats having worms and they were outside cats and brought many a present home as well ....so you would think they would of got it sometime in their lives ...
I rub the diatomaceous earth all over their fur for fleas and it seems to work so it's good both inside outside both it seems....I thought it should work for cats and worms inside as that's what came to mind after buying some to use internally on my own body.....
I'm glad to hear this actually works! My kitties are suffering from worms currently and the prices of medicine are outrageous! Not to mention how bad they are for my cats. I'll be purchasing a bag!
Diatomaceous earth is plankton from the bottom of the ocean. It's also used in certain swimming pool filters to filter out algae and debris. It's also used to kill/control bed bugs among other uses.
Thank you so very much for this cause I took my cats to the emergency room for this & I spent about $800.00. Also, your story is inspiring. Thank you for that too😊
Hi Becky. Im thinking abt trying this. I feed a colony that are feral barn cats. I just wanted to tell you that I figured out better food than Purina. its Diamond Naturals Active cat. O get it from Chewy. The bags cost more ($25) but they eat less so its abt the same in the end. And they really look and feel much better on it. If I run out and they eat Purina then I can see them losing weight and not feeling as good. Thx for all your videos. I have had my homestead for 29 yrs so I like to wstch you to see how someine else does things :)
You can find the dosages online by doing a search. I used about a quarter teaspoon in my cats canned food for 4 days and could see improvement in the first 24 hours. I have a feral cat colony so this is the easiest and cheapest way to take care of ALL worms.
@@darlenegoode6758 diatomaceous earth, food grade. The Harris company sells a good brand. Online retailers, amazon, but i am sure other independent places sell. Better to support them if you can afford it.
@@_lostjams_5192 i see she didnt reply. I personally would give a bit less, maybe half that? Try at first anyway. Be nice to know for sure. I hope kitten is doing ok!
I did it Becky!!! Thank you SOoooo much! My cats are safe and worm free. Thank you so much!!! It would have cost me so much $$$ to bring them all to the vet for a RX for POISON and high risk to their health !!! 💗🙏🌺
Irreparable Did you ever do this? did it work for you? About two weeks ago My 2 year old cat pooped outside of the litter box in front of me and there were a bunch of little white worms, i looked it up and assumed it was tapeworms. I bought this and have been feeding both my cats a tablespoon a day in their wet food mixed with a little bit of dry food, i’m not sure what to look for for improvement because when i clean the litter box it’s usually not fresh poop so i can’t see worms or anything
Hi Becky, I just want to make sure that I understand correctly. You actually use 1 whole cup diatomaceous earth for a 16lb bag of food. Is this correct? Thanks
I just ordered some Diatomaceous Earth (Food Grade) and once I get it I'll be trying it out on my cats. The one kitty has worms, the others show no signs of it but I'll be mixing it into ALL their food just in case. Thank you for the video, very informative.
It got rid of a flea infestation I had in my house. Make sure to cover your face when you dust your house with it, the shell is like glass and that is what cuts the exoskeleton of fleas and roaches. They dry up, they use DE in grains when it is being trasported to avoid bugs from infesting food. It is safe around kids. Just remember to dust the house and leave for a bit so the dust settles, cover your pate face as well if you put it on their fur.
I have 2 indoor cats and would like to try mixing some in their 3.5 oz wet food cans. How much would you suggest I use? I also buy 5 lb bags of dry food and they eat a little of that each day also. Any suggestions on how much to add to that one also?
Thanxs for this video. And guess what? I feed Purina too. My mom always swore by Purina cat chow. I feed a lot of feral cats in colonies and those cats appreciate food! They do not gripe about a name brand! It is better than no food and eating sparsely out of a garbage bin!
I use high quality cat food with this kitty I've had for 10 years...but before I knew any better in the 80's and 90's I fed my two cats purina cat chow...that's it. One passed away at 18, the other almost 20. Sooooo, who the heck really knows what is the best way. The best way, is whatever way that works for you (I mean your cat) 🐱
