there was a dog born with out front legs named "faith" who became an internet sensation a few years back by walking just like this, sadly he passed away a couple years ago but lived a full life and died at the age of 15 I believe......
Maybe a vet could design a support to protect Dexter’s spine. It’s wonderful how he’s adapted, but dog’s skeletons weren’t made for walking upright. Love that you’re living your best life, Dexter. You’re just being you..very special.
@@tanatribe I’m sure it could be done, don’t know if he’d appreciate it. He likes his special view of the world. Just thought some support like a stretchy back brace might work.
Considering he's already adapted to this way of moving he might reject a wheelchair. Hope they're giving him supplements to strengthen his bones and joints at least.
God bless mom for giving this animal a second chance. Dexter’s return of gratitude is his desire to live while showing the world that he can. Gr8 story!
I do animal rescue here in southern Colorado. If you EVER start to feel sorry for yourself, just do a little volunteer time for a rescue group or shelter. The animals that come to us have been beaten, abused, neglected, often are crippled or deformed, deaf, blind, or suffer from extreme PTSD. Open your heart and your home to love.
Springers have enough energy to power an Elementary School...LOL ...the energy must be burned off or they usuall end up getting hit... My neighbors springer was constantly tied up THEY ARE RUNNNNNNNERS...when he got loose he'd just TAKE OFF....barely walked-totally neglected for the Dog Breed! One day he got loose off the chain and took off with a truck coming .... well you know the rest. He was a gorgeous Dog I felt for him all the time!
@@MsJp467 If it wasnt Communist Run and people were Free...MAYBE the Chinese Citizenry wouldnt have to come up with UnCivilized ways to MAKE A LIVING! & to Think Biden wants us JUST LIKE CHINA....
For real. Imagine seeing it running like that out of the darkness and under the street light towards you, back into the darkness till it comes to the next street light!
I can not understand people putting a thumps down . Dexter got a will and determination to live and overcome his disabilities . One amazing dog . Good Dexter . God Bless .
@DeadlyButSilent2 Bad things happen to people who have Faith .The Devil comes to rob and steal hurt and mane , kill and destroy. But Jesus Christ heals and mends the hurt the maned , sick and broken hearted . We can not blame God for everything that goes wrong or bad things happen but we can ask God's help to fix it . That's why Dexter is amazing dog he survived now he is thriving and loved . I am sure his family is Thankful to God Dexter survived. iGod Bless you !
Animals ignore pain to please their human carer . Bit like little children go back to human who hurts them. Sad but true. Not say I g someone or anyone is hurting the animal ,just that this should be remembered.
Broke my back and damaged the "cauda equina" (horses tail) Got me disability in full. But, I still walk and everything functions, except balance. God does work in mysterious ways! Been ten years. I am retired, now!
@@mlang52 thanks for sharing .. I am glad you still walk .. me too , not very well but I refuse to use a wheel chair because then I would lose what ever capacity I still have ... All the best to you , Keep walking ...
I have two Brittanys. In total I have owned four Brittanys. Dexter is the perfect example of the Brittany spirit. He is just not going to let his accident get him down. He is a very brave boy. His also a very handsome guy. Brittanys are such a special breed. Love to Dexter.
I had a Brittany, too. Such an amazing and loving dog. I miss him so much. They are such resilient dogs, as all dogs are, so I'm a little biased. And mine had the same coloring as Dexter. Way to go Dexter and keep on strolling! ❤️
@@Blueeyes2584A since I commented on this we lost our Birdie. She was liver and white and she was my sweetheart. She was 15 and 1/2. I miss her so much. We still have our Grace, who is orange and white. I agree, Brittanys are such resilient dogs. All four of my Brittanys have been such smart and loving dogs.
OMG... I just watched on youtube... he brought a smile to my heart, when I had been in tears most of the week. God bless you for saving your dear little one...
I FEEL SO BAD FOR DEXTER, BUT HE MAKES ME FEEL SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD TO SEE A ANIMAL WITH SO MUCH SPUNK AND A WILL TO LIVE , I LOVE HIM 😍 AND SO JOYFUL HE HAS A VERY BEAUTIFUL HUMAN FAMILY WHO LOVES AND TAKES GOOD CARE OF HIM!!!!!!
I hope the owners can afford to buy Dexter some kind of a wheelie cart soon. Because walking around like that is going to cause all kinds of problems for him 😢
I was thinking the same thing. He isn't built for that and eventually soon will lose the use of his hind legs from sever joint pain and many other problems.
While cute, I wonder if a set of wheels for Dexter's front legs might be as better option? I worry he will end up with arthritis in his hips walking like this.
I just don't understand how you lose two dogs in two years and than get a third dog in this situation. Idk how the first two dogs died but maybe stay away from that road.. Fuqin morons
Thank you for not rushing to euthanasia. I decided against it when my beloved dog was diagnosed with cancer, and I had 2 more months with him before he passed by the will of God. I have memories and pictures that I would not have had otherwise if I had put him down.
How wonderful! When I was much younger my roommate had a 3 legged giant Shepard who worked the boulevard in Albany NY for treats. He stopped at every bar and shop and got feed. He'd walk down the sidewalk with this huge grin and come up behind people he knew and let out a loud bark! - just to watch them jump. Then he turn around wag his tail and everyone knew it was Butchie saying Hi!! I knew the dog long before i knew my roommate...
This is the most precious beautiful & wonderful thing I've ever seen. I absolutely love love this most amazing dog!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful & beautiful story. Much love to Dexter and his amazing family..... Thank God for all of ya'll. 🥰😍😇💝💞💛🧡❤
How can anybody not like this????? This is so precious and gives people hope as well, because Dexter made the best of his injuries, no matter what! Blessings to this family and their beautiful dog ~
I thought it was sad that COVID regulated her job out of business. At least COVID was sympathetic enough to let Walmart, Amazon and casinos people have jobs.
That dog is so adaptive to communism. You gotta love the way he takes his shots. He really should be wearing a mask though. Sad how the owner lost her job from COVID but COVID was sympathetic enough to let Walmart, Amazon and casinos stay open. Brought to you by Pfizer
It looks laborious for Dexter. I wish they could get some artificial front legs molded out for him. They do work. Especially for his GOLDEN YEARS. THEY SHOULD START SAVING FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL PUP.
OMG - this dog should be a support dog that you can take into children's hospitals and veteran hospitals to give those who have lost limbs something to give them hope.
Dexterity saves the day! What a gorgeous and tenacious pup, so glad he’s got such a loving family. It’s wonderful that he is helping his family through this rough year (plus) a truly symbiotic relationship, win win! Woof woof! BTW, Ouray is a gorgeous little town, I visited as a kid, on a school trip back in...1981. (Yikes long time ago) and I’m grateful to see that it really hasn’t changed much at all. It was the absolute highlight of the trip for me, I remember going for a trail ride and seeing the mountains from my favorite vantage point (horseback). I hope to visit again someday
Kind of funny... I wrote “ Dexter” ( dog’s name) and it autocorrected to Dexterity... IT WAS A RARE CASE OF AUTOCORRECT ACTUALLY BEING WITTY! Lol I can’t take credit for it, but boy it’s true, Dexter has a lot of dexterity!
My Chocolate Lab got hit too. They cut his rear leg bone off at the hip so it is free floating. He runs as fast as our other dogs at the ranch. Dogs are really adaptive. This is a really cool story.
One of the BEST stories I have EVER seen on the Internet!!! This is PROOF Dogs are Man's/Woman's BEST FRIEND while also showing us how to never give up, no matter what!!! FANTASTIC!!!
@@xxTriple_Txx I was just joking I saw the other dogs and they said they were being abused. Maybe they weren’t but chances are they were. I didn’t even remember commenting this until now
What a Great Story ! Sad the dog became crippled ! But Dexter seems to make it work ! Where there’s a Will there’s a way ! God bless the humans who give them inspiration and Love !
That is such a cool story! I lost all control of my emotions upon learning about the accident. The sadness turned to joy by the end! Thank you Dexter for being so amazing! 🙏🏻💕🌻
This is a miracle from the Lord God for a dog to lose the use of his front legs and be able to stand UP and walk on his hind legs. I truly believe it's MIRACLE FROM EL THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, HALLELUJAH! You go DEXTER, stay STRONG. I'm sending love & big hugs to you Dexter & to your family. God Bless.
Dexter is amazing, but that’s really really bad for his hips. He could get issues with his hips and may lose mobility in his hind legs if he keeps walking like that. Please get him wheels.
I thought about this too. If he gets arthritis in either of his back legs it’s all over. A set of wheels would enable him to be mobile in a way his body is intended. It is really funny, but so dangerous for him in the long run.
We all need to be a " *little more Dexter* " in our own lives. Happy, Brave, Funny, Strong, Flexible, LOVING, Cheerful !! Dexter and Family ~ Thank you for sharing your AMAZING story here on yt.
