imagine you're walking down the street and this lady just passes you with a flock of 10 magpies

Once you make friends with them they remember and recognise you. They are intelligent and playful.

As scary as Australian magpies can be, they are actually quite friendly, i had a similar interaction as this lady with a wild magpie, me and my older brother were playing with shells on the beach then a maggie came up to us out of nowhere and began joining in on the fun!

Amazing, it's like the leader of a pack watching those Magpies following Danielle! She seems like an awesome person, as a fellow sufferer of anxiety and depression I know where she is coming from. I would happily spend all my time with animals rather than humans, they are much easier to understand and are incredibally loyal and loving. We had a family of magpies visiting us and one of the young ones would come inside..when the weather was very hot we left a sprinkler on low and a water bowl. They stayed around it all day. They would sing wonderfully to me when I whistled to them. We moved away but I will never forget them.

I love how it is being emphasized that these birds, as does all wild animals of any kind, needs to be treated with respect and dignity as well as empathy and knowledge. Thank you for a very well put together video, filled with info, passion and cuteness❤

I worked out that we’ve been friends with a magpie family for over 12yrs. I rescued Maggimaggi from my son’s primary school. She was that special friend. She flew off and brought back her boyfriend. All of these years later I honestly believe that the magpie family is Maggie’s descendants.

I firmly believe that she is now the most powerful woman in all of Australia.

I love hearing and seeing the Magpies whenever we're visiting Australia, love hearing the warbling every morning wherever we are. Luckily we've always been staying for months at a time but ill health means we've not been for 3 years now. Seeing this story and hearing them has been wonderful, also seeing how these intelligent Corvids can be such amazing companions whilst remaining wild birds.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I've watched it a few times and it brings me such Joy. I'm illegally blind man with a small amount of vision. I've had a tiding of magpies or AKA Family for around 10 years at my property. The family I knew to love have all passed and moved on now.. Different generations of chicks have come back as adults to raise .... Without fear of predators.. their families in my yard without predators.. I also live alone and don't socialise a great deal with my disabilities. No one quite understands the bond I have with my magpies.. I only give them a snack once a week so they don't become dependant on handouts.. but it's such a lovely relationship.. Thanks again for the video. All the best in your future and with your family of magpies. Good luck with the rescue venture also.. it's a great cause. For our native wildlife.. As they need all the help we can give.

With all the comments this won’t get noticed, but I can totally relate to this, birds being a reason to get out of bed, mine have filled that role for me as well, although life’s put a few hiccups in the road of late.I’d spend as much $$ on food for my wild birds as I do/did for myself. I loved magpies back when I used to live back in Aussie, my wild birds here in NZ, I’ve never thought of trying toys with them, I don’t know if they would, you need real inquisitive birds to make that work & as much as I love mine, they’re more interested in fighting over food than anything else! Don’t stop what your doing, & I’m SO glad you mentioned wild birds aren’t pets, way too many people these days think anything cute with a pulse is theirs to buy & treat as they like, messes with my head that concept!
