I love this scene so much! The anxiety is real. The trinity Killer and the Bay harbor butcher right under the noses of Miami Metro Homicide. This was the best season of Dexter and one of the best seasons of any show ever.
Trinity was one of the best antagonist Dexter has ever faced (best TV shows villain), in my opinion. I was reading up on Trinity last night on Dexter's Wikipedia page (cause I'm a nerd), and this song automatically came to mind. That's how much his character had an impact on me. Couldn't get it outta my head for the whole night x.x
One of the best scenes in season 4 was when trinity walked into miami metro, this song played before inspecting all the photos of his kills and then confronting dexter. such a good series. Going to skip season 6 and pretend like the show ended after 7, aha.
I think the scariest thing about Trinity is that he looks like a kind, old man. But all in all, I think Doomsday was the scariest killer. He might've been over the top and dramatic, but going through all the theatrical scenes for his deaths and dressing them up in specific ways just adds more to his insane mindset. Imagine that crazy shit in real life.
iRazenrak I liked DDK too, and really think he was underrated by viewers. But Trinity is definitely my favourite antagonist in the whole series, followed by Brian.
iRazenrak cause his profile doesn't fit that of a killer, but he hides in plain sight and certainly doesn't hide his psychopathic side from his family. plus victim count. but DDK has the horse scene, and reenacting the bible which is kinda more disturbing.
He wasn't an effective villain, but he was scary because of how unpredictable he was. He made up Geller and had a completely split personality. At least with Trinity and Ice Truck Killer, there were physiological reasons behind what they did and they served as clues for stopping them. With Doomsday though, he didn't have any childhood trauma, he was just completely fucking detached from reality, and he set up elaborate theatrics to kill. All of these psychotic killers would be great Batman villains, but Doomsday would be the most fitting for comic books.
Dex:Did you ever really try to control it? Trinity: Oh God yes...I prayed to be changed. Dex: That's not trying, that's waiting to be stopped. Trinity: Worked, didn't it? Case and point.
It's creepy to go back to the scene where Dexter kills Trinity after you know Trinity killed Rita before Dexter caught him. When Dexter says "I have a family too Arthur" Arthur raises his eyebrows as if to say "Do you?" and realises that Dexter doesn't know he killed Rita. Now that I think about it when Dexter slammed Arthur's car boot down on his head before catching him and putting him in the plastic wrap Arthur probably thought that Dexter knew he'd killed Rita and had come to kill him to avenge her.
This season was really Tremendous seaon , the best scene for me is the final dialogue between Dexter and Trinity 💯🔥 One of the best scenes I've ever seen 👌 And Dexter is the Best Tv Show of course 👏💫
Judging by the end of Season 8 Dexter forgot what Arthur said to him. He said "No. You'll still be you" when Dexter asked if he should fake his death and start over. Arthur should have added "Don't become a lumberjack" to his advice.
@@Xehanort10 oh hey I like to apologise for my little of a shit of a brother who cursed at you I will infact tell him that you did not spoil the ending thanks for informing that he did this

So intense and scary intro, it always reminds me of the start of season 4 when trinity kills the first woman in the bath, most amazing and dark start of them all, also the filming when she walks into the hall to the bathroom, very dark.
On top of that, he used his family and his community service as cover. No one would suspect a guy like him. Even then, Dexter found him using Lundy's tapes. He could've saved that man from being bludgeoned in the building and killed Trinity right there, but Debra called him over the where Lundy died and then Rita surprised him in the apartment (he was too late to save the man as a result). His interference could've saved a life, if not for the delay, but instead it cost 2 (Kyle Butler and Rita)
Dexter: Excuse me sir you're on the wrong floor. Arthur: Oh no this is exactly the right floor. Dexter: We should talk somewhere else. Arthur: Somewhere private? So you can extort money from the Trinity Killer. Dexter: So what do you want? Arthur: I want you to disappear from my life. Like a ghost. A really annoying ghost. Dexter: And you'll disappear from my life? Arthur: I couldn't care less about your life. Or death. Unless you get in my way. Dexter nods his head. Arthur: If I were you I'd give up vigilantism. You're not very good at it. Goodbye Dexter Morgan.
Anybody else got kinda mad when they used this in other scenes for the show that didn't even fit?? Yeah when Debra told him that trinity supposedly killed again on season six and when he met trinitys son it was cool but other times it just didn't felt right
***** straight up man especially in season 8 it just felt forced. yeah that michell family plot line was left opened, either killed him or have him and the brain surgeon wreck havoc on dexter on season eight. also Hannah either a villain that gets killed by dexter for debra, or havedebra catch her again. also I liked the idea of vogel being the big killer. that way the first women serial in the show and she turns to Anthony Hopkins type of serial killer in silence of the lambs type. or just written the Daniel character better, the darker version of dexter.
***** I too thought that Dr.Vogel was the Brain Surgeon. I mean she knew all about how the brain works. Yeah they should have never brought back Trinity's theme in season 7 for Ray Speltzer. He had no relation or nothing to do with Trinity whatsoever. What they could have done is at least use it when Dexter was looking up the name of her patients that she had and found Jonah Mitchell's name on the list. Maybe Jonah Mitchell could have returned to Miami and Oliver Saxon would target him and Dexter would try to save him.
I totally agree, when they used it when Deb was in trouble with Speltzer or however you spell that, anyway, trinity had nothing to do with Dexter proving that what he does is justified. Also I don't think they should have used it again in season 6. But that doesn't change the fact that the show was one my favorites
Yeah but the tradition of suicide (Becca and Arthur's mother), murder (Arthur's father and Sally) and blame (Arthur and Jonah both being blamed and murdering those who blamed them) just continued. Its really intriguing. Just like Dexter's legacy of having his mother killed in front of him at a tender age being repeated for Harrison.
(That's when Trinity realizes Dexter doesn't know about Rita yet) Arthur: You're like a child. Dexter: A child with big knife Arthur: You dream of a heaven you'll never see Dexter: But I don't believe in heaven- Arthur: -Oh but you do!
Arthur: This isn't your doing. This is God's plan. I accept that now. You have to do the same. Dexter: I accept nothing. Nothing is inevitable. Arthur: It's already over. It's already over. Could you? Dexter turns on train set. Arthur: Thank you.
I think he was always remorseful, he always wanted to control the demon in himself but couldn't, as he says in his final moment. But his suicide attempt wasn't really remorse, it was more like ending his 30 year legacy after it was completed, because all his kill cycles were finished and he'd done a final cycle where he started, i.e. Miami. The police wouldn't found out he he was, because of Vera's ashes and Arthur's own DNA, which would show on the autopsy.
5 episodes into the new season. Trinity has been referenced multiple times. Pair that with the rumors that Lithgow was returning as Trinity in some way... something fishy is going on.
You are 100% correct. I did not write the series at all. I just created the character. and it was the character that JEff Lindsay bragged about stealing.
John Lithgows performance as Arthur Mitchell is in the ranks of Anthony Hopkins Hannibal and Anthony Perkins Norman Bates… one of the great serial killer performances
@onetruepurple I sware after that scene I never got excited to see anything ever in my whole entire life, the music went so well. it had me laughing and shaking my hands.
Yeah, I agree totally. The funny thing is that Trinity is such an easy adversary for Dexter once he identifies him. I mean, Dexter tailed him, caught him and injected him with M-99 easily - no hassle (after the "Hello Dexter Morgan" scene). Trinity's one of the best killers in the series, hands down, but he's not on Dexter's level.
They should have had Trinity escaping after killing Rita. Then Dexter would have had a proper nemesis and would always be looking over his shoulder wondering whether Arthur would return instead of the same old formula of the main villains being killed off in the last episode of the season whether by Dexter or not.
Xehanort10 Season 7 would have ended with a cliffhanger about a murder signaling the return of the Trinity killer. What if Jonah would have returned to join Dexter and both get revenge on Arthur for the damage he's inflicted or join Arthur in a father-son killing spree of Trinity killings?
Armando Loaeza I think Jonah would probably help Dexter because after Arthur put his family through I doubt Jonah would become Trinity II and join him in a killing spree.
Yes, that's true. Its funny if you think about it. Trinity would've killed 2 less people if he remained anonymous (i.e. Lundy didn't identify him and Dexter didn't know), because after he finished his cycles and repeated the final kill cycle of his in Miami he was done and was going to kill himself (i.e. no death of Kyle or Rita).
The sole true reason for making the serial killer stems from child abuse. Since as a child you can not really defend yourself from an adult the only thing I could do is create a super hero that would protect me. You're welcome! If I was allowed to fix up the TV show I would make Dexters dad a military police/drill sgt closer to real life as my father was.
Other factors too. Quinn kept preventing Dexter from leaving the station before Dexter headbutted him and went chasing Trinity. If Quinn hadn't wasted his time, he'd be far closer to Trinity and would've killed him. Then there's Rita's phonecall, if Dexter didn't take that or if Rita didn't call, he would've have crashed into that random guy's car and could've killed Trinity without the cops or that guy on his ass. So many tiny factors all lead to Rita's demise, its really interesting.
Yep Christine is partly to blame for Rita dying because she didn't tell Deb that Arthur was Trinity. If she hadn't killed herself I bet Arthur would have killed her just to cover his tracks.
Some would argue that Trinity's father wasn't innocent, because of the abuse and shit. One may even say that he made Trinity who he was with all that abuse. Its funny because the tradition of suicide, murder and blame passed on in the family, only different people played each role.
I know, but in this case, they'd find Arthur out because his DNA would match that of Trinity on the autopsy and Vera's ashes would match the ashes left behind on each Trinity crime scene.
Yeap that's right, but still, I mean it shows a great level of professionalism (and sick barbarism and ego of course) to bury them alive constantly on a community building area and keep getting away with it. Lundy noticed the murders by observing that the 3 kills occurred over and over again. If only he observed a little deeper - he would've seen that before every cycle a 10 year old boy goes missing. Its something very hard to notice though, I don't blame him.
That's true... There was also the part when Dexter was about to kill Clemson Galt (the Aryan Nazi prisoner) and Harry told him to turn himself in so that he could reduce the number of years he'd be in prison, but Dexter chose to trust Miguel and Miguel eventually showed up, rescued Dexter and he was able to dispose of Galt... But generally its his father's spirit that ends up right...
At the time I was but 2 days later I was indirectly hit by lightening. That dramatic incident when I got stuck off of Executive blvd near white flint metro walking work work has affected my memory greatly hence the reason I forgot about the whole ordeal for 15 years. I just remembered what I did 3 weeks ago or so.
True that... But if Dexter didn't answer Rita's phone, just at that critical moment, it would be fine. He should've known not to have done so at THAT MOMENT... When you're chasing one of the best serial killers in the world, you don't have time to pick up the phone to talk about family issues. He should've just killed Trinity anyway, cause no one would've found his body...
I'm still mid-season 6, but season 5 disappointed me antagonist-wise. Trinity vibes like a hidden, omnipresent, nigh-supernatural threat. Jordan Chase vibes like an insurance salesman, more obnoxious than dangerous. I guess being played by John Lithgow helps.
Haven't gotten to him and maybe Jordan didn't vibe with me because I know his kind all too well (the non-murderous, non-raping variety). I have worked in sales and Jordan vibes like a salesman. His product is toxic and will cost you your soul, but ultimately, he's no Trinity. Trinity is... some eldritch darkness lurking around the world.
