Just followed this video for aid and it honestly helped me so much, especially the “Dan tips”. 10/10 recommended!

I just tried this and it worked right off the bat which is great. My only question though is I see other videos just wrapping the battery not the whole board. Is there any possible short circuit issue or other issue by having vinyl electrical tape all over these circuit boards like this video portrays

thanks for your tutorial, everything gone wrong on my side (I've broke the solder) but still managed to make it work with electric tape

Want to do a cr2032 because larger capacity- not sure if it would work in aa cr2025 cartridge. Im almost certain it would not work in pikachu edition which uses a 1616, much smaller. The damn pen i melted works on gold, but not on yellow. Edited: i changed battery for 2032 it works! PROBLEM my audio sometimes completely cuts out when it plays. Did I destroy the board anyone? I made a small scratch on the board under where the battery sits. Any help appreciated

Just out of curiosity how would you fix the situation on an Xbox 360 not reading game discs?
@sandalwood4271
@sandalwood4271 4 года назад
That is a topic that Dan would have gone over if this part of the channel had still been a thing. Anyway, this depends on the condition of both the disks and the drive. Your Xbox 360 might just have a dusty sensor and it needs a cleaning. Maybe your disks have been used so much that they have been effectively wiped (I don't necessarily know how, but lasers can do this to disks, especially if you leave your game paused/frozen for long periods of time.) Maybe the sensor is broken. I would recommend cleaning the disk drive, replacing the disk drive, replacing the video card (if possible), or replacing the system.

hi! im waiting for a bit to arrive to change the battery in a just bought cartridge and was wondering if the game warns me about the battery running low? how do i know when to change the battery again?

Dude you do realise that DGR doesn't do this anymore right? Besides the Gameboy will not let you know when the battery dies so either look it up or deal with it when it dies

Does this work N64 cartridges?
@sandalwood4271
@sandalwood4271 4 года назад
(Before anyone shouts at me in the comments, I know this comment is one year old. I'm responding so that future people don't have to see this question and no answer.) Probably not because these two systems probably use completely different hardware. I'm not even sure N64 cartridges even HAVE batteries, as modern game cartridges do not.
@Dsmbr03
@Dsmbr03 4 года назад
@@sandalwood4271 Yeah they do. They aren't modern cartridges though. They have batteries that last like around 18 years. But I was told not to use tape or anything.

Now what happens if my battery dies again? Will removing the tape damage it?
@DGR_Dave
@DGR_Dave 8 лет назад
+Troy Paysnob Hi Troy, great question! If you battery dies again it's as simple as removing the electrical tape and replacing it with a new battery and following these same exact steps. Removing the tape will not damage the game board as long as you are using electrical tape. Hope this helps and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask! -Dan

@@DGR_Dave Will the link in the description still work for purchasing Brooklyn battery works? I looked into it and I’m sketched out. I called the number no answer I left a voicemail, sent an email and read the reviews. Kinda weird.

Please don't do this. You could damage your game cart forever. You could rip a trace or cause a short circuit if the battery is not secured in place.
