DGSE Action Division: The Elite Covert Operations Unit
The Directorate-General for External Security, or DGSE, is France's primary foreign intelligence agency, akin to Britain's MI6 and the USA's CIA. Established on April 2, 1982, it operates under the French Ministry of Armed Forces, responsible for a broad range of intelligence activities. These include paramilitary and counterintelligence operations abroad, economic espionage, and safeguarding French national security. The DGSE's organizational details and operations are highly classified and not publicly disclosed.

How interesting that the French 🇫🇷 DGSE is part and parcel of Les Forces Armees Francaise ( French Armed Forces), and , are not only conducting Military Intelligence , just like the United States 🇺🇲 Defense Intelligence Agency ( DIA), however, conduct National Intelligence, such as the 🇺🇸 Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA), United Kingdom MI6🇬🇧, and, Israel 🇮🇱 Mossad and Shin Bet.

It was an interesting video and well there are not a lot on DGSE The French foreign intelligence service. But some of it is a bit innacurate. DGSE is an Intelligence Service they do mostly intelligence gathering it can be with human ressources or cyber. They do influence work and conter terrorism. They do have an action unit. They can do hostage rescue. But they are really discret. The men in training you showed at the beginning of the video are one of The Special Forces unit of The French Army . They do work sometimes with DGSE but the French Army do have her own intelligence unit . So you showed a " Ranger unit like or Navy Seal unit like " and not a CIA secret unit. You know what i mean ??? the end of your video is more accurate. If i may i recommand a french serie on DGSE, it's very good it's called " bureau des légendes"

I hope you also understand that DGSE Action Service personnel is not being captured on video, so I need other similar footage to illustrate and get my point across. :)

Yes, i do understand but you put a lot of emphasis in your video on the action part and it's probably no more than 5 to 10 % of the activities of the DGSE. It's an intelligence service. The DGSE agents are mostly analyst, tech guys and well spies. They do have an action unit but they mostly give intelligence to the SOF unit for the action part except if it's really too sensitive . The rescue attempt of the DGSE agent was done by SOF units of the French Military, not the action unit of the DGSE You're video is mostly military vid well we have military intelligence service it's called DRM for " Direction du Renseignement Militaire" @@the-spy-network

@@geraldinefaure4635 COMPLETLY WRONG...The Operation in Somalia was done by Action Service...That's very easy to check (especially if you are French Madame...) Plus the action Service capabilities are quite consequent: Clandestine agents, Attack divers, Commandos, a dedicated air branch support and maritime support.

Pronounciation of French names is abysmal to the point where i could not understand specific towns in France. The same goes for Djibouti! There are websites that help with pronouncing foreign words properly. Cheers!

Is it just me or does it seem like the French always do business with sketchy ass countries and always seem way too trusting of those sketchy countries. Like building nuclear reactors in countries that want to wipe other countries off the map with nukes but did the deal anyways because they “promised it would only be for energy”. Yeah right

Most of those sketchy countries have some French history in them, for instance being colonies etc. So I won't be surprised if that's why France is still heavily involves. Also Africa is the richest country in terms of resources, so that would also make sense.
