I haven't played with my e-Board on chess.com for a while. I was waiting to play friend in an unrated match, and decided to test everything out (forgot the move announcements). I got a player rated 117 points higher than me that had a propensity for giving away his pawns. I played at 89.1% move accuracy and didn't have too much of a problem making this into a short game.

@@ugpwtommy6882 that’s always where I go too. Not certain it’s best though, would need the ‘hand’ to avoid getting close to incorrect pieces. Could be an electric magnet…. But would a hook type mechanism now be simpler? How to we deal with knights? Does orientation matter? What if the player puts a piece not perfectly centered in a square? How would it deal with captured pieces? You can see how the idea snowballs into something that doesn’t get built haha

...but you're playing the online-match on a tournament size board with actual chess pieces. Moving the opponents pieces is really not that big of deal. I watch the screen for the opponents move (some predictable moves the audio is enough, but i forgot to turn it on for this match) make it, and then my perspective returns to making my move on the board. Playing on a board takes some getting use to after playing on screen. The perspective is definitely different and it took me at least a year to see it as well as I do the screen. These days, I think I play better on the board, because it slows me down.
