@@yesyouareright9800 Hans was frustated because he knew magnus was gonna win 100% percent, given the result and magnus being clearly much superior. He was caring. Magnus was just with "i already won kid" vibes. Its not being a meat rider, thats envy, or maybe its not envy, maybe you are a Hans meat rider
It wasn’t just that Magnus won, but how he won. Even games where Hans had opportunities, Magnus flipped it and just took his soul. Then Magnus seemed to get bored and played some rather insulting openings for the last few games, like it wasn’t worth his effort anymore.
The worst part about this for Hans has to be just how respectful Magnus was towards him in the post-match interview. "I felt like he was playing quite well", "he's *miles* better than he was 2 years ago", "he has good understanding". The most "disrespectful" things he said about Hans were that he blundered a lot (which is objectively true) and, indirectly, that he (Magnus) has to play much better in order to beat Alireza (which is, again, just an objective truth). Hans spun a narrative of "the entire chess world is conspiring to take me down" and then, on a completely level playing field, Magnus simply outclassed him and then said "yeah the kid's good, he's improved a lot, I'll have to play better against Firoujza". soul = crushed
I think it was a subtle burn from Magnus there. 2 years ago Magnus lost and said Hans was cheating. Today Magnus crushed him in a very different situation but Magnus said he played better. For my interpretation it reads: "See? When he stopped cheating he improved a lot. And then he loses to me like expected." - Because why else he should say he's better if today he absolutely won and 2 years ago he lost to him?? Magnus isnt the guy that is polite just for being polite, his words were purposely chosen for sure.
@eulermachado3968 Hans won a few games here at the SCC vs magnus so not sure what you mean. Also I feel like people are getting the wrong idea. Hans is playing a marathon match vs the best chess player ever, cut him some slack lol.
@@Zero-ok4xg Asking people to "cut Hans some slack" after the way he talked in his pregame interviews is *chef's kiss*. I'll stop treating him like a clown when he stops acting like a clown.
Now we can all collectively stop giving the time of day to Hans now that he finally got his rematch and was crushed effortlessly while he threw a tantrum.
I wouldn't say that; Hans has been beating the crap out of other sGMs and has climbed into the top 20. Obviously he isn't close to Magnus's level of skill, but he is proving himself as one of the best players in the world, maybe top 10 soon.
@@ChrisThe1 my point is now he got his rematch after 2 years of shit talking and drama, he was crushed by Magnus without a second thought. We saw the conclusion and now there's no reason to follow his story specifically anymore.
@@roachdoggjr4648 Well to me at least there was never any question about whether he's competition for Magnus. His story is worth following the same as the other young players, like Pragg, Gukesh or Erigaisi
@@ChrisThe1 I disagree when Hans shows such little respect for the game or his opponents. If he learns some humility and shuts his mouth, maybe he'll turn into somewhat of a respectable figure.
@@parthsavyasachi9348just the way u phrased it shows how dumb u are.Hans used engines online, and it is debetable if he used it otb.He couldnt cheat in a tournament like this, with that type of cheating control
@@parthsavyasachi9348 Soo true ... really shame that Hans did actually cheat :( ruined his own life and mental state with it ...they always say that shit you do will come and bite you in the ass and this is perfect example of that
When you accuse an opponent of cheating with no evidence, rage quit a tournament, then refuse to play against that opponent, you make that person a rival, regardless of skill.
I Love how Hans constantly talks down on the everyone yet Magnus humbles him with a dominating win and still finds words of kindness saying He improved. That's what I call a humble goat
Its the humble people in all sports that shine... what was disgusting about the start of this match was the commentators saying how relaxed Hans looked... anyone who knows about body movements, facial expressions etc could visually see that Neimann did not look as confident as the bias commentators were portraying...he looked terrified to me from start to finish... he was humbled....
Well he is currently the top 16 rated chess player so he definitely has a chance and he is almost passing ding diren who is the top 15 right now only 3 rating points ahead of Hans niemann
@@jimmyjiang6808 don't misrepresent what he said - he made it clear he was going to beat Magnus in this tournament. He did not. In fact he got slaughtered.
@@redplague7996yeah, true. Magnus ended up just calmly roasting Hans during the interview without having to flip Hans catchphrase. My favorite being Magnus saying that if he played in the final like he did against Hans he would get smoked
He was actually deliberately rude and dismissal about Hans. I think he resented himself for allowing Hans to scare him into avoiding playing him since he backhandedly accused Hans of cheating. He is both a sore loser and a sore winner.
Thats because he is media figure, not just noname commentary ,he cant allow to promote cult of hatred towards anyone, in the end ,no names do it quite well be themselves It allways was like that ,in EVERY SITUATION
@@amanuelyimer3739 yeah magnus had a 5-game privilege all of the tournament and started trolling in bullet otherwise the difference was 10 games at some point
@@Sharshock 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was responding to the quote, which said American, and didn't specify. Lol!!!??!! but since I didn't specify, you think you're clever.
Magnus Carlsen, Ali Reza and Nakamura are arguably the three greatest blitz players of all time (although peak Tal might have had something to say about that). Hans is clearly not at their level yet but he did incredibly well just to get there - I can’t wait for Carlsen v AliReza tomorrow - I think it’s anybody’s game!
You're probably correct, noticed the same. All the crap leading to that match, not feeling comfortable in the spotlight, a bit of autism here and there. Hans is not a bad kid, his brain just works a bit differently when it comes to interacting with most people.
@@tt128556I didn't notice such things, stop putting labeles on people and acting like a youtube armchair psychologist. Hans like Magnus is normal functioning.
@@yesyouareright9800 Yeah because that's when Magnus showed his true strength over him, he inflicted pain in the beginning but at the bullet section he kinda just gave up and tried to give him free points so he doesn't cry a lot before losing to Hikaru. Also get off Hans, he doesn't even have a meat to begin with, just arrogance.
Saying magnus and hans have a rivalry is like saying magnus and anish have a rivalry. They don't. Hans can focus on winning as many titles and championships as Magnus has in order to be even considered in the same league. Winning a game against Magnus doesn't mean you're better. Having more titles is what enables you to make claim that you're better
Hans looked like he was sweating, crying, and shitting his pants since the end of the 5+1. His complaints before continuing the last few unwinnable minutes of the 1+1 were embarrassing.
I really do think when he let that first game slip away from him (Hans should have won but Magnus does what he has done so many times, find the one move to reverse the trend). Now as good as Ali has been playing (he just destroyed Hikaru) the championship will be a battle.
In the post interview I think there was a subtle burn from Magnus there. 2 years ago Magnus lost and said Hans was cheating. Today Magnus crushed him in a very different situation but Magnus said he played better. For my interpretation it reads: "See? When he stopped cheating he improved a lot. And then he loses to me like expected." - Because why else he should say he's better if today Magnus absolutely destroyed and 2 years ago he lost to him?? Magnus isnt the guy that is polite just for being polite, his words were purposely chosen for sure.
@@threethrushes i think he is fake humble to be honest.... the dude is furious when loses lets be honest.... he' too used to winning and being better than people,.
That 5+1 stomping really cost him big time, tied in the 3+1 so he kind of can in some ways go toe to toe but even if he tied in 5+1 and the 3+1 Magnus is such a boss in the 1+1 Hans would have still lost. Sheesh.
that being said anyone rated higher than 1800 or with more than 2 brain cells who followed the situation knows that Hans didnt win because of his superior play 2 years ago, but rather because Carlsen played uncharacteristically bad. So really this conclusion wouldnt be made by anyone with any clue about pro chess or really just chess itself.
Magnus is as good at the sly take-down as he is at chess. With Hikaru it was "He's great. He's got so many silver medals". With Hans it's "He is so much stronger than he was before."
I wonder if Magnus saying how much Hans has improved was an underhanded way of saying he cheated because he’s saying this is Hans a lot better than he was and he crushed him whereas Hans crushed Magnus twice at the Sinquefield cup and the one where he said chess speaks for itself two years ago
I have to disagree with Robert. Magnus is not 'in form'. He's nowhere as commited to chess like he was 10 years ago. Yet he still destroys every chess player on the planet with ease.
Gotta love the sneaky "he's miles better than 2 years ago", which basically translates to: "he is miles better than when he won against me! (and i just destroyed him)" Gooo Magnus!
In Kalevala there is this part where young Joukahainen challenges the GOAT Wäinämöinen to a duel. When Wäinämöinen declines the youngster insults him. Wäinämöinen proceeds then to sing and using his magic to make the swamp swallow Joukahainen.
Magnus simply has a great understanding of where all chess players lie in their skill level including his own and he doesn’t let internet hype or people’s opinions sway him from the truth of who is the best at chess and it simply happens to be him that’s the greatest.. and he pity’s other players who simply don’t understand the hierarchy the way he does. Magnus has said for a long time that alireza is a future chess prodigy and here is alireza challenging Magnus on one of the biggest stages in chess and Hans happens to fail just as Magnus predicted. Hans is a great player just not at Magnus level
Magnus giving such a great compliment about Hans' game after the match is genius. Nobody will hate on him for saying, in fact I think people will like him for saying that all while it boosts his own position as 🐐
The Epic of Magnus and Hans the Hopeless Behold! The realm where pieces clash, Where mighty Magnus, in glory does dash. With pawns like thunder, knights like flame, He laughed as poor Hans tried to play the game. "I am Hans, and I'll take your throne!" He puffed his chest, let out a groan. But Magnus smirked, eyes divine, "Foolish mortal, your skills are benign." Hans pushed a pawn, shaky, unsure, Magnus struck back-his victory pure. "Is this your best?" the god did cry, As Hans’ strategy waved goodbye. The 5+1? Hans was crushed like clay, The 3+1? A fleeting delay. In bullet, oh boy, the tale turns tragic, Hans flailed about, while Magnus worked magic. "You came to win?!" Magnus roared with glee, "Against a god? How blind must you be?" Hans, now humbled, sank into despair, For Magnus’ power was beyond compare. And so it’s told, through all the lands, Magnus reigns, while Hans... just stands. In the world of chess, there’s but one divine, And Hans? Well, he's just killing time.
Yes, this match confirmed that Hans has the upside to beat Magnus if he plays well start to finish, he just does not have the consistency or composure to beat him in a long match yet.
Oh Hi I was finding you,I think you were the guy to call that streamer hikaru guy the Goat of speed chess I think,I hope now you do realise Magnus is the God of chess and speed chess and best to ever play and no one is even close yo him any format, not even in bullet anyone is close to him,so plss from now on think and then speak
@@nikhildawani2913 Nope. Hikaru is still the GOAT of online chess. One bad day does not equate to anything. If Hikaru was on his best day, we would’ve had a Magnus vs. Hikaru Trilogy, but it is what it is. I can tell you’re U2000 elo. Everyone that likes Magnus is just a 800 elo fanboy that lives vicariously through him. Meanwhile, us, Naka fans, actually like him for what he has done for chess, his extremely fast way of calculating and playing intuitively, and his ability to defend lost games. You’re what I call a casual. Now shut up and enjoy d-riding Magnus for eternity, Mr. U2000.
I know right away after the first 3 games that it's in the bag for Magnus. It's not even close. Honestly I was hoping to see a big surprise from Hans but his class just isn't there. Even Magnus was bored in this match playing meme openings in the later half.
It seems to me that Niemann's personality is so underdeveloped, problematic, and dysfunctional that it raises serious questions about his upbringing-perhaps his parents should be investigated.
Weird way of saying magnus, imagine losing to a kid with the black pieces and then getting salty and accuse of him of cheating because you are a sore loser and a narcissist
He has given away tens of thousands to charity and overall given way more attention to Chess while bouldering an undeserved amount of hate. How much money did you give away to charity? Let's investigate your parents.
Wow. Magnus really said "it wasn't a matchup I wanted" and he actually meant it, he wasn't just talking trash. From everything Magnus said before the match, I got the feeling Magnus KNEW his opponent wasn't ready for him and he was right. Not only did Magnus crush him, but he also got bored and stopped caring about the match towards the end and still won.
The scores show Magnus lost the last 5 games straight. Crazy. I know top comment says he stopped caring but I think we all know if you’ve got a rivalry against someone you hit them as hard as you can and wouldn’t ‘give up’ and finish on 5 loses and giving your opponent a perceived mini victory.
Please tell me you are not serious about those were meaningless wins. It was after 1am. He played hard every game with Alireza out of respect but also it way earlier in the day.
Who said or thought that there were a rivalry? Magnus underestimated Hans and lost a game once but that was it, Hans literally isn't even in the same league as Magnus.
There never was a rivalry, but respect for Magnus taking the high road in the post game commentary. He would have been well justified to completely dump on Hans, but instead praised him some.
not even talking about their respective qualities as chess players, but Nieman is just a jerk craving for attention by being an A. I don't like that kind of person. Unfortunately it's exactly the kind of personalities that social media encourages...
Niemann 'Not if, but when I win.' Hans Moke Niemann loses - really loses. Magnus 'He's better than he was two years ago, definitely. But he still blunders a lot.'
I have literally no idea who Hans Niemann is and know next to nothing about chess but its really entertaining to see someone get so cocky and lose. This is the second video like this about him I have seen and its really funny
the fact that Hans really thought after years of being “silent” in chess, come back, and go for the goat is just so funny, Magnus really stopped caring after a few games lmfao
4:14 is absolutely brutal. He didn't have to do that. He was proving a point. He did it a few times in the early games as well, played longer or more complicated forcing lines just to stamp his authority on the game.
Well he has to get used to it because Hans nieman is top 16 in the world right now at his all time peak and he is only 21 years old so he will keep improving and will maybe break into the top 10 and as he gets higher rating he will face magnus more
It's like magnus said. He played quite well but blundered alot. It would have been closer if not for those one move blunder misstakes, which could have easily been avoided. He is overconfident. Edit: For all braindead "one brain cell" people out there, my point is that the only reason he's not doing better is because he underastimates all the opponents and plays nonchalantly once he gets a winning position. He is otherwise an amazing chess player with some big potential. I think he will go far, and yes he is toxic but this is not a matter of character.
Hopefully he will grow out of it, he's still very young at 21. When he's like 26 with his pre frontal Cortex fully grown and the 5 more years of experience he will be a huge problem. He could be world champion then. It's just not yet his time. Looking forward to him playing for 3rd, that should be an absolutely amazing match. Hopefully this loss humbled him
It's hard for it to be a rivalry when it's so one sided. Rivalries are traditionally amongst 2 players or teams that are mostly even keeled. This is not the case here.
