@@livvyliv8722 The old lady in the video does it to Adam when she flirts with him when he’s clearly uncomfortable, and takes him to a concert seemingly against his will.
im a woman and the Darla scene literally made my skin crawl. Man or woman, if i see a creep i get the shivers. at first i saw Dhar Mann as someone clickbaiting and making dumb videos, maybe even as someone a bit narcissistic, but now the little shred of hope i had for him as a person just went DOWN there. i hate ppl that support double standards and believe men cant b harassed.
The idea that men can't be harassed is stupid and ignorant. They can be, and it's not funny when they are. It's nice to see so many people agreeing with me on that, tbh- I'm disgusted when people act like women can't be creeps. (this is all also coming from a woman.)
Yeah as a man I really don't appreciate creeps either. Even if they're a woman. Thank you for your comment btw. Means a lot, I wish society could just understand this crap or at least care enough (they don't)
I'm glad you brought up the hypocrisy of the video, idk why Dhar Mann thinks showing a woman sexually harassing a man is funny? You can't be against sexually harassment at the gym and mock men getting harassed and touched without consent in the same video.
I KNOW RIGHT! my respect for dhar mann went 📉📉 and i know some guys who are traumatised from being sexually harrassed by women and here's uncle dhar making jokes about it. what a hypocrite really
@@psychemorales2592 No, it's during the video, Darla touches and tries to kiss the man without his consent and keeps making sexual comments despite him being clearly uncomfortable.
I really, really hate the making-fun-of-old-people-for-being-old trope...especially when the "joke" is that simply being older makes people gross, unattractive, sexless lumps. People under the age of 35 do understand that they're going to get older, right? It's, like, unavoidable...unless something terrible happens.
True. It was very much exaggerated in this Dhar Mann video. They make old people seem lame in Dhar Mann videos but my neighbour was super cool. I didn't grow up knowing any grandmother so she was like my grandmother. She would teach me how to bake really tasty things, she would teach me how to play volleyball, she also taught me how to play cards and become a master at chess. Although I think if old people choose to do it and want to do these jokes WILLINGLY, then why not? Anyways back to gran. She passed away in 2014. I do miss her a lot, she was the coolest grandmother in our neighborhood and our friendship was unmatched.
@@mahdireza5695 I'm glad that you had someone like that in your life...she sounds like a wonderful woman. We really do gain so much from friendships with people of different generations. ❤️
The fact that they punish the man but not the woman angers me more than the rest of the whole Dhar Mann channel. This is how we arrived to the point where people laugh if a man says he is abused
As someone who within the last 4 months came out of a big depression and started going to the gym and running 6 miles a day I can say the last thing I want is to talk to people when I go to the gym. I've made a few friends and that's it. When I first started going I weighed almost 40 pounds more and was at the heaviest I've ever been in my life. My anxiety was at an all-time high and my depression was at the worst it had ever been. I had one man try to hit on me when I first started going I got up and left. I didn't start doing this for anybody but myself. I felt bad mentally physically and emotionally. It's months later and I'm feeling better better than I ever have. So I fully agree with what you said at the beginning. Plus I didn't know anything about the gym I had to watch RU-vid videos make friends with two trainers and just pretty much teach myself so I always felt like I never knew what I was doing. And I feared someone would figure that out.
Another thing that pisses me off about Dhar Mann is the comments on his videos. About 95% of the time when I read comments on DM videos, it’s always full of people worshipping him like he’s their holy savior and talking about how much his videos “inspire” them and how he’s “Changed their lives”, and to keep up the good work. What mainly irritates me is that barely anyone in the comment section of a DM video sees through him and what harmful messages he’s shoving into their mind, very rare will I ever see anyone call him out in the comment section, is anyone with me on this? Let me know and share your thoughts in the comments
I agree with you there as when I scroll through it they're all like "were not telling stories we're changing lives thanks Dhar Mann" and I'm like how are you changing lives?? Take the kid fakes his mother's death video like who would even do that??!! Also the logic in his videos have been thrown out the window like kid becomes a millionaire overnight video. I'm there raging at my phone because how did a 10 year old get a lottery ticket (maybe he convinced someone to get it for him but that feels odd imo) and how did he get exactly the million when there are taxes as well. But back to what you said (sorry for the long rant and the long text) it's like with these "pranks and setups" there like "hey let's almost harm this person so they'll learn a lesson"( and I'm sorry that last bit didn't make sense at all)
@@pixie1546 I’m most definitely with you on the whole “It was all a prank/setup to teach you a lesson”, I’m down to the final straw with that trope!! I mean, most times when Dhar Mann uses that trope, the characters teaching the antagonist a lesson usually have the option to just sit down with them and explain how doing these bad things will affect them in the future, like they don’t need to do any of the shit that they do, because as a result, the antagonist ends of getting possible trauma from this experience, and the characters teaching the antagonist the lesson usually get of scot free without having to face any repercussions for their disgusting actions. And to add a cherry on top, the antagonist still gets punished in the end, like in the video where this kid lies about his dog eating his homework(Who really uses that excuse for not turning in an assignment anymore?), after it was revealed that the kids mother collaborated together with the pet vets(Don’t even ask me how she got them to take time off of their important ass jobs to prank her son just for not turning in his homework) to teach her son a lesson about lying, she starts talking bullshit on how he needs to stop lying, but she did the same shit to her son, which was just complete hypocrisy, she still says that he’s getting punished, like possible trauma and trust issues they end up giving the antagonist just for doing something so small can never be enough punishment, Dhar always has to go the extra mile, it’s like he takes some kind of sick pleasure in liars misery!!
Exactly like other "life lessons" that doesn't have the prank/elaborate setup we also use to have the "you judged me based on my looks but guess what I'm rich or a CEO" like why??? And also the same brands or apps they use like Roblox, Minecraft, Fortnite, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari ect I'm like "there's also other cars/video games" also also the "imma upload a video about the situation I'm in and it gets a load of views" is pathetic as well
her faking a heart attack was the most messed up thing ever and i dont even know what was going on in their heads when they thought he deserved that when he just wanted to be with the girl. i mean they find out he has a crush on a girl and their reaction is to sexually assult him and then fake a heart attack and their saying he is in the wrong for trying to be with a girl he was in love with!
@@heisenberg2763 oh yeah you're right, in the Dhar Mann universe, calling someone out isn't enough, traumatizing them or committing a crime to teach them a lesson is better
"When you make your characters do things that no human would ever do just to force the plot, it takes away from the video" Well said, sir! Very common problem with Dhar Mann videos.
Thanks for sticking up for men at the end of this video, August. I was really tempted to not watch this one to the end, mostly because the Dhar Mann clips were really cringe and I felt some sense of uneasiness or discomfort watching them, but your commentary and criticism on all of it really made it a lot more bearable and was the actual entertaining part of this video. But when you called out Dhar Mann for going with the mainstream and treating men like a joke to be laughed at, I felt a sense of encouragement to not be ashamed of being an adult male in this society. I appreciate you, August, I really do. Now just imagine if a Dhar Mann video can elicit that same sense of encouragement with the lessons it's trying to teach, instead of having the polar opposite effect.
I agree! Even if a woman did something really bad there would be a huge backlash if anyone even implied that she might deserve sexual harassment, so I don't think Dhar Mann should imply that a male character deserves sexual harassment even if he does something really bad.
Dharma Mann in 4 years: kid MAKES FUN of DHAR MANN'S FATHER, gets MISSILE STRIKES sent to his HOUSE EDIT: This is the fastest I've ever reached to 100 likes. Ty :)
I commented this on Dhar’s original vid: Dude you can’t have a channel where you claim to “inspire people” and “change lives” when you’re literally making a joke out of sexual harassment. It’s not funny, Dhar. it’s just adding to the stigma that men can’t be abused. Shame on you Dhar If Dhar mann deletes that comment, it really shows a lot about what kind of a person he is
I guess we’ve gotten to the Point where Dhar Mann thinks it’s just shits and giggles for people to watch a man be sexually harassed, suffer a life changing injury, and be taken to a concert against his will.
I swear Dhar Mann videos keep getting more and more wacky, next thing he'll do is probably going to be re-create avengers endgame but with a life lesson on it for no reason
16:11 I don't see why someone would be upset about you saying this because that's true. Men get ab*sed, and it gets blown off and s*xual ab*se, when done by a woman, is seen as the guy getting lucky. It's sick and gross... I don't see why people think there is a difference. Ab*se is ab*se, end of story.
the problem with dhar mann, is that he follows his lessons with the craziest story plots ever. for example, “boy kills his mom for iphone 14” bro, is dhar mann gonna include a teenager robbing a bank in one of his videos in order to teach 10 million kids a lesson? also another problem is, he provides the most unrealistic plot twists that’s never gonna happen in a million years to teach the bad person such as the bully in his videos
1:35 The guy didn't wipe the equipment down. CLEARLY Dhar Mann gas never been to a gym. Or even a Planet Fitness, because EVEN Planet Fitness says you have to wipe the equipment down! 🤦♀️
Dhar Mann's on his psychopathic "I wanna be bought by Nickelodeon" era. But honestly since he returned to RU-vid in January he's literally lost his mind
I love how you keep saying that Dhar Mann keeps getting worse, and you'd be absolutely right. There's a new video called "Kid becomes overnight millionaire, the ending will shock you", that I would love you to see. It is truly something ridiculous.
I watched that video and i swear it's super stereotypical the part when he found a lottery ticket and he won that is literally every stereotypcal movie btw can we talk about how unrealistic that video was like there is no lesson in it
13:38-13:50 To be fair, in the beginning, the old folks DID complain that just becsuse they're old, doesn't mean they can't take on a little extra work, so Adam can argue he pushed them too hard because they asked for this. Also 14:57 Is why it's important to just be yourself when trying to impress people and NOT TO LIE. You see, all of those could have been avoided had Adam just been honest. He did all this JUST to learn she already had a boydriend.
Something that bugs me about the end of this video was that it ends just like every other “liar revealed” Dhar Mann video; the guy *still* tries to keep the lie going, gets snitched on by people who found out or by divine intervention, which proceeds to mercilessly destroy him in every way possible, while keeping juuuuust enough restraint to keep him alive, to keep him suffering in pain. Never does the guy just grow up and finally come clean of his own fruition. That’s normally fine-ish for most episodes; the guy gets his beans spilt out for him; but with this man having already admitted it to the seniors, this episode had set itself up an opportunity to do a different, interesting ending, as opposed to the same, overkill ending that every other video covering this lesson has
11:34 The scene with Darla It makes me VERY uncomfortable It’s literally sexual assault I don’t know ANY old lady who acts like that they might say a guy on Tv looks handsome stuff like that but never ever do they do what Darla does In this video
3:42 I'm surprised people are just passing out over not breathing like you would expect "not" breathing to kill you you wouldn't expect to live after that because if you're not breathing then how is your heart still beating?
I think having the girl/woman he was interested in have a boyfriend took away from the lesson that is meant to be portrayed as it implies that she was never interested to begin with. I think it would have been better for the message if she initially said "yes" was told about his lie, and changed her answer to "no" as that would make getting rejected a consequence of his actions as opposed to him just having the bad luck of choosing someone who happens to already be taken.
The double standards in this video alone convinced me that Dhar Mann is a menace to society & his influence is a danger to gen alpha. It scares me because my 9 yr old neice watches his "content"; I hope to god she hasn't seen this one.
I said it before, but they stole this plot from a Friends episode where Ross pretends to be a masseuse because he thought he was massaging the client's daughter.
i think the life lesson here is watch out for those old people, they have been around lot longer and seen everything and more then we ever could, including busting chops when someone is lying to impress a already taken girl....oof this took a sharp turn, and Dhar Dhar, don't ever mention Earth Wind and Fire in your videos, they don't deserve to have there name here in a lowbrow life lesson, unless you paid them to use the name
If you thought that this one was bad? He put out a brand new one. Evil Caregiver nearly kills Grandma. Good old Dhar Dhar must have been hanging around DramatizeMe for that one.
i see you as the youtube gamer for adults, have said it before but feel like i am watching a friend playing games or a friend watching me as i play, not someone screaming for children. its great, thanks!
“Thankfully my grandmother is already dead so I don’t have to worry about her” Dear Lawd, this would of sounded so awful if the context wasn’t there 😅😂
Hey August, there is a RU-vidr\Tiktoker Named Dominic Schmidt. He is really strange… and it proves once again that somebody can do anything for TikTok fame. Please make a video on him. We are so grateful for you august! ❤
