Hi Daniel, first of all don't be dissapointed by the dislikes, if it fun for you, just keep doing them. On the other side i will try to give you some advice, not an expert but also trying to do some CNC reviews. You do have to be carefull not to compare apples with oranges and not to mix up the specs. Both units, 485 and 481 are Brushless units, but as the price is different also their torque is different, those numbers will tell you which is stronger. Is good that you are comparing with the same baterry type, i hope they are freshly charged and same "age". A which one is better has little sense 481 is stronger, spec based, but also the price is like double. But you still showed the difference nicely, like from my side Note:The screwdriver mode has the clutch, the 21 steps, that gets activated at the 485, offcourse since the unit has less torque, the 21 setting will be "weaker", as it has to protect also the mechanics, motor not blowing up and so on. Also you should clamp down the part you are working one when drilling with such a massive cutter head, to give a good example for anyone whatching your channel. For sure you are not responsible is someone gets hurt, but a good example will help reduce the risk of injuries among the hobby makers :) Keep it up!
Let's compare both drills DHP481: max torque 115Nm, capacity in wood 76mm, price approx 170-200 euro DHP485: max torque 50Nm, capacity in wood 38mm, price approx 100-120 euro
Good effort Daniel. I enjoyed it. They are very different drills. The 485 is great for DIY work around the house or small jobs and the 481 is much more powerful hence why you are provided with a handle. It also has a metal chuck whereas the 485 has a plastic one. Keep the videos coming, you will get better with each one
Daniel, you have some very nice tools. Just ask someone to show you how to use them. What are the different modes for, the 2 speeds, etc. You don't do power screwing in clutch mode, the clutch mode and all the numbered settings are for sensitive screwing.
Of course the dhp481 is way stronger than dhp485 . The dhp481 is the most expensive top of the line makita drill and dhp485 is just the middle class don't be fooled by the model number check the specs instead because makita is weird with model naming makita dhp458 has a maximum of 50nm of power in other hand the dhp481 has a maximum of 115nm it has more the double of the power and so there is no compparision between these two end of story ! Thank's !
Use the screwdriver/ clutch setting when driving screws with the 481 to avoid snapping the screws or burying them into the wood and straight out of the other side. , with the smaller drill it’s not so critical unless you’re using fairly small fasteners.!! I only really use the 481 with hole saws and large drills, it’s just too heavy and powerful for smaller jobs… horses for courses, very entertaining vid though..😂😂😂
please learn how to use them right, it hurts to see how less you now about the drills.. the 481 perfomes better putting in your screw because it is in drilling mode (in which the force clutch is disabled , the scale from 1 to 21) and on the 485 your in skrew mode (in which the Force clutch is enabled) so for right comparison put 485 and 481 in drill mode and try to put the skrew in again....
your right that 481 is stronger, but with this little skrews there is no need for more power then the 485 can bring to the table.....the 485 is able to put much longer and thicker skrews in wood than the one you use for demonstration......
