The first Diabetes Data Science Catalyst Community of Practice event was held on 27th September 2024.
We were joined by Associate Professor, John Dennis from the University of Exeter who delivered a presentation entitled 'Using UK EHR to develop a precision approach for type 2 diabetes treatment'.
We were also joined by Carlos Sanchez Soriano from the University of Edinburgh who delivered a presentation entitled 'Impact of COVID19 Clinical Care Pathway Changes on Gestational Diabetes Incidence and Pregnancy Outcomes in England'.
The Diabetes Data Science Catalyst is a partnership with British Heart Foundation (BHF) Data Science Centre, Diabetes UK, HDR UK and the BHF. It aim is to accelerate understanding of the links between cardiovascular disease and diabetes by harnessing the power of linked data. The catalyst supports research of relevance to both diabetes and cardiovascular diseases through the use of health data science and advanced analytics such as Artificial Intelligence.
