Diablo 3 Season 24 Every Ethereal Item Analyzed (Spoiler Alert) 

What are you most excited to try out next season?!

Something not mentioned - when you salvage, you get varied amounts of DBs, VCs, FSs, and greater rift keystones (up to 4 that I've seen). Got to P~500ish with a GoD DH and Doomslinger; got a perfect Dawn roll (65% vengenance CDR) on it with good stats. Couldn't pass it up. In game, they look *great*, the ground effect is like the primal but is that turquoise/teal green from deaths breaths, and the sound when they drop is the old Horadric cube. I though those were a nice touch.

Always great content. Can't wait to see your gameplay with them. For me... can't wait to see some WD play with those weapons in place of voo's juicer or soul harvest.

wow nice pieces !! i start ptr yesterday using my monk, I found everything, but still no ethereal. Today I try again.

I like how the itemization even resembles D2, with just...a LOT of things on the item (and things like +Stats..that's a very nice touch).

Brutal ethereal Greatsword of Repair x2 for Occulus rings(i mean the bugged soj) that were occulus weapon stats on rings.

I believe one of the DH items could have insane trap damage. Nobody uses traps in Diablo 3. The Shadow set was left out of the season.

I loved this season - I made every class, tried new builds and it was a lot of fun collecting all of the weapons and eventually getting ones with the right powers so I could solo-blast higher than I ever had. I'm going to look at solo pushing builds before I decide how many classes to make this season.

Im excited to try WoL monk with the Jade talon. Seems like it would be pretty OP

I appreciate the video. I would have loved to see how the weapons actually looked so I can decide if I want to search for all 21 transmogs during the season.

I'm a bit bummed in the large difference with usability between classes for the ethereals, but I'm glad they made it easier to collect them all. I would like to unlock the transmogrify reward for them but i didn't want to play every class to do it. I don't even own the necro DLC.

I would have to cube blade of the tribes to use the barb ethereal, Be interesting to see if it increases or decreases damage compared to the usual weapon cube options for leapquake barb.

Hyped to try Ethereal Witch Doctor weapons. They look okay not great not bad. Nice video Raxx.

I vividly remember from Diablo II that Ethereal items cannot be repaired, contrary to you mentioning they cannot lose durability inherently. That was the whole point of them; they are more powerful versions of normal items, which you cannot use forever unless you're willing to invest into making them indestructible or gain x amount of durability every x seconds. So the mod "Ignores durability loss" would be highly sought after.

Some of these weapons are amazing, the others feel like they were designed by people who don't play or understand the game builds. It's like chalk and cheese, it's odd.

Kinda sad that the Crusader got the shaft here, also weird they didn't get a 2h weapon option..

Actually liked having the legend spike as a WD weapon because of the higher base attack speed. Shame decay spells were relegated to the spear. In contrast, the Wizard Spike with its high base attack speed and stacking damage multiplier makes explosive blast super nice again. Managed a rank two Tal Rasha clear with an explosive blast build. I believe swapping to Frozen Orb would yield tremendous results. All said and done, the amount of build diversity this generates is fantastic.

The Redeemer for Crusaders would pair well with Invoker Thorns

Asteron's was indeed called Astreon's in D2. Also Grimmershred was Gimmershred :)

This makes me think, it would be really nice to be able to 'transplant' legendary effects between weapons (2hands to 1 hands mainly) to spice things a bit.

I just found Backbogs Sharp. Definitely the best weapon ive found so far.

I liked Buriza when GOD came out a lot, the Rift Guardian was constantly frozen essentially, so I was able to do my thing without worrying about them that much.

@Raxxanterax, It should be 'gimmershred' (d2) not grimmershred (typo in d3 version). Small error but maybe it would be nice if you could report it. Also, your memory is correct, it is "astreon" not "asteron" :)

Hey raxx, what class do you think will benefit the most from ethereals barring any changes post PTR, and alternatively what class do you think gains the most build versatility from this? Thanks!

definitely going to grind for all just to say and show I did, plus D2 hype, but the transmogs are kinda eh. as far as their powers, im gonna need a lot of time to decide my class this season. I have played a lot of necro, but oooh the soul harvest

Can we talk about Whirl Rend barbs and the grandfather. Triple rend damage at 10k %. The grandfather adds 100% damage then another 200% to all barb skills. Don't forget that whirl rend barbs don't currently have weapons that buff damage output.. until now. This will be new meta Credit is mine

Blackbogs sharp could possibly make corpselance come back as a viable rgk again. Would love to see this

They need to add Zod recipe to cube that can only be used once per season. That way we can still use our favorite ethereal from a season and slowly accumulate them but still have incentive to play seasons (find good eth's to save)

I really wanted to see the blessed hammer become crusader build go-to. I miss my hammerdin

Asterons (new cdr slot) on a LoN Crusader with passive of Blade of Prophecy... it will be able to use frevor passive another 15% cdr ( you dont need furnace slot anymore) will result in mental fast solo 120 -130 Gr clears and fucking heaps of paragon farm- You can cube Akkhans Addendum, wear Asterons and Frydehrs Wrath and the only thing that stopped that build form insanely melting was the cdr roll on the shield which was very hard to get perfectly rolled combined with max condemn damage. I will go Crusader Necro, this way you can also roll strengths primals and ancients like leorics crown nemesis bracers etc for necro to help with some armor through the strength rolls.

It would've been nice if they had some kind of unique power that acts similar to the original weapons.

Just got back in the game today, been playing for about seven hours and at lvl 30 I find one of those hold X to reval what the ? Is. And it was Sould Harvest, my damage went from 460 to an astronomical 10,500 damage. Haven't played in a while and after playing the Diablo 2 demo on Xbox, that bug bit me. So I got a copy. Wasn't even going to start with seasons, and only do the normal, thank goodness I checked on RU-vid what I might have missed.

You're looking at the gear for single purpose, not for sets or builds specifically.. for instance, freezing alone on monk isn't that great... But those juicy buffs are making it worth while for a cc support monk when with wizard or Necro which are rly strong during our current season. These items are just enough to make the meta shift due to certain things being too squishy or just not enough dps factor, it's enough to make old builds come back. For instance... That other bow would be excellent for multishot. Js.. and with the speedfarming ability ? That's insane. It's gonna be great for control and quick clears.

I think I'm more worried. I feel like they make one weapon/"thing" overpowered and that becomes the meta. I was hoping to maybe mix up the way the game is played instead of adding/changing items, Like season 24 seems like it's just going to be having a more powerful weapon. It doesn't do anything to formula that will change the things I was already doing in season 23. I believe season 24 will be just be Rat runs/Grinding out Paragons for months. Followed by just key hunting for a good rift to clear. If I had to pick something to get excited about is the Inna's set, Honestly it looks pretty interesting so I will be coming back for a at least the first month playing extremely casual just to experience the changes first hand.

Wouldn't Khalim's will be good for classes that need a lot of attack speed like invoker thorns?

Will these be available only in the upcoming season or will they also drop in non season modes?

Really hoping for a seasonal repeat or crossover that brings these back sometime

They should import some of the other affixes from D2, not just the weapons’ looks. Just add crushing blow, deadly strike, and I will be pretty happy.

Thoughts on The Redeemer and Khalim's WIll for Invoker? Right now for solo push we just use Pig Sticker

I was suprised to get an Ethereal weapon in a common chest instantly bumped the difficulty up

'The Redeemer' needs an overhaul to synergize with Thorn builds, change: '20% Holy Damage' to '50% Physical damage', '100% damage' to '200' thorns', 'Level requirement' to '50% damage reduction when blocking an attack lasting 8 seconds', and the 'Increase gold and health pick-up radius by 2 yards' substitute by 'All thorn and physical skills last 3 more seconds, and deal 300% more damage'

Ive been making barbarian and am paragon lvl 211 right now. I'm averaging 100 million with my hammer of the ancients, and over a billion damage with double damage and my berserker rage

Aah, so Ethereals are buffed legendaries! Now they make sense and not underwhelming at all :) Basically you use them INSTEAD of like a Dawn, get Dawn's effect AND get a bunch of awesome stat bonuses. Got it! Thanks, Raxx! :) P.s. I would love some DH Ethereals buffs tho. A bit weak I think.

I only solo, so don't care about rats.... so I hope they keep soul harvest as is. But honestly I think this will just be more frustrating than anything. I mean imagine not being able to optimally play the build you want because you keep getting these weapons with the wrong thing. You want ambo's pride, but get the siesmic slam or others instead all the time. I don't know.. I get that rng is a HUGE part of the game, but too much isn't fun. Maybe thats because I'm just a casual player? I usually get to about 1200-1300 paragon and burn out, but even still, I want to play as optimally as I can. We'll see.

The grandfather's 200% bonus seems like a bigger deal than soul harvest. If necros had a worthwhile offhand that could be a different story, but they don't. It also seems like a big deal that monk can get a two handed weapon legendary on a one hander.

Found two the first day. Never found another.

Maybe it's just cuz I'm a solo player but black hand seems like far and away the best Necro weapon. 100% Crispin's uptime without relying on things like bone armor dislocation or procs from passives or zeis while constantly cc'ing everything hard pretty seems good to me.

If I remember correctly, aetherical items in Diablo 2 couldn't be repaired, so when their durability dropped to zero, they were lost... that's why they have the "indestructable" bonus, which was a must have roll on (vanilla) d2 aetherics.

So you can't pick up ethereals from other classes, then it stays on the ground ? Don't get that part yet :p Another question, ethereals can be found even if you aren't lv 70, so ethereals grow with the character or you have to find them again on 70 ?

Question, what torment difficulty do you play on? I'm paragon level 211 and I fly through torment 5 with ease with or without teammates

Kind of a bummer that they drop on any class. Was thinking the feat of strength would be harder to get.

Yo Raxx question is the buriza good for the impale set i see it has the karlei's point attribute and also are the passive's random rolls?

Can you only get these on seasonal characters?

Can you pick up a teammate's Ethereal drop and count towards the Feat of Strength? Or do you have to find every item yourself?

Ethereal are best items in game and not limited by lvl or solo great rift?

I like the concept, but hard to shake the feeling that in every season there is a sales excecutive, that never played the game studying necro dlc sale graphs, that leaves the same memo for the devs. "Don't forget to buff Necro, no matter what!"

So isnt monk kind of the strongest charachter to play next season if theres no changes? what did you mean with that necro weapon. i thought he would be much weaker? would like to know!

If I get the mats, and go to kanais cube and hit reforge legendary, will it reforge to my current level? And if so it's obviously wiser to do it at 70 right

So the Soul Harvest will buff solo mages as well. I was hoping one of the wizard weapons would have be Death's Fathom, still have found that in D2 😂

Is that wizard 2H staff's 20% damage and 300% wiz skill damage additive or multiplicative?

It's been awhile since I last touched Diablo 2, but I thought ethereal weapons had higher damage than non-ethereal weapons, had durability, but couldn't be repaired. The only way around it was to use javelins which could self-replenish, so as long as you didn't use all the charges, they'd recharge up to max over time or use a Zod rune...which were rare as all get out. Also, 13% movement speed on the Windforce isn't great and all, but it's not wasted. You just take the paragon points out of movement and put them into dexterity or vitality. You talk about the CC effects on Windforce and Buriza being bad, all the while having fear on that EF. I know the % chance isn't as high, but it's there. Plus, or minus...they really toned down the KB and freeze effects on that WF and Buriza, respectively (from the Diablo 2 versions). 4.5% chance to freeze vs 12.9% chance to fear on your EF...really need to stop complaining about CC effects as long as you've got that EF equipped. 100% chance to aoe fear in place for 7 seconds is ok, but 4.5% chance to freeze isn't. gotcha...I guess the reliability of the aoe fear, and knowing it's going to get dropped is what's good here, but you've spent the last 16 or so minutes of the video claiming CC is bad...while using an EF, but whatever.

Might be barb this season! Grandfather + hota affix on iT seems like a fooking Huge buff maybe eben possible as elite speed killer in 4man speeds ? Like 105-115s? But if innas set is going to buff the shit out of it again, then ill go monk , last time played monk Was like as a sup monk in season 17 or so Wizard seems also very interesting Might do a barb as dd for high speeds when its possible, monk for solo push and Wizard for high 4 man push if He will be still there !

I just got a DOOM with STRAFE but it gains strafe and the PASSIVE rolled ABOVE ? i saw 0 for 200 of this so 1 for 200 You think I found a glitch ? strange stuff
