STATS AND GEARING ADVICE IN DESCRIPTION

I decided to take my budget setup from • Diablo 4 - Firebolt So... a bit further, and was curious what it would take to be able to wear raiment to speed things up.
Turns out you don't need much:
- no ubers required
- not a single GA
- 40.5% cdr
- 48.9% attack speed bonus (in character stats)
- 54.3% pyro attack speed
- with moonrise aspect, potion and rapid = 168.2% total attack speed
- rank 5 flame shield with 62.3% duration increase from tempers
- rank 11 firebolt
- 3 max level 21 glyphs, and 4 at level 15 still
- paragon board in the guide
MASTERWORKING:
- I equipped a single 12/12 mw neck to reach the last thresholds, which is equivalent to about 3 pieces at 8/12, everything else was 4/12.
- It would be possible to play the same setup with everything at 4/12, but it would require near perfect rolls everywhere + correct MW crits, BUT if you are able to upgrade gear to 8/12 MW it will be pretty easy regardless.
- You ideally want to hit at least the rank 4 MW crit on the most important stats: Flameshield duration, CDR, attack speed (until cap).
- If you can upgrade everything to 8/12+ however, it probably doesn't matter where you crit. It will for optimizing damage later, but not to get started.
HELP! MY FLAME SHIELD DOESNT STAY UP:
- Make sure you have HECTIC aspect on AMULET
- You also need RAPID + MOONRISE aspects equipped
- Make sure you use Elixir of Advantage II (15% attack speed)
- Make sure you are ALWAYS casting Fire Bolt, you should bind it to a key you can just always hold down
- ONLY use EVADE teleport to move around, DO NOT USE REGULAR TELEPORT
IMPORTANT GAMEPLAY TIP:
- Be careful not to cast too many other spells within a single flame shield, roughly (depends entirely on gear, you can test it yourself):
- 1 fire wall + 1 evade OR up to 3 evades OR 1-2 evades with 1 fireball
- I recommend you start SLOW, and only start casting more as you get more comfortable.
IF YOU STILL CANT KEEP SHIELD UP:
- You can try using Godslayer crown with a good CDR roll for pull instead of Raiment, with a legendary chest with +flame shield rank and +flame shield duration temper.
- It won't be as good as Raiment, but you gain a decent amount of flame shield duration using legendary Chest over legendary Head.
- If that is still not enough, unequip both and use both legendary chest with +flame shield rank and +flame shield duration temper AND legendary head with flame shield duration + CDR until later.
FURTHER CHEAP UPGRADES:
- Upgrade low temper rolls / low affix rolls.
- You can look for a cheap 1 GA attack speed ring with int, which you can find for less than 100m, and you only need to hit 1 temper on it - pyro attack speed, so it is a low chance it bricks. The 2nd resource temper is whatever. Ideal is probably lucky hit resource gain.
- If you get a Harlequin Crest, equip it (as long as you have full flame shield uptime you can do Tormented Bosses to try and get it, or to get other uber uniques that you can salvage to craft it).
- 1GA Intelligence is cheap on most slots & is very likely you find a bunch of yourself, which will add a bit of extra damage. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT WORTH USING IF THE TEMPER ROLLS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE.
- A better Flameweaver and Tal'Rasha are pretty good investments, since they can't brick, contributes to your flame shield uptime (with attack speed and cdr, respectively).
- You can buy a cheap GA CDR Tal'rasha with bad aspect % if you struggle with flame shield uptime. - For Flameweaver the most important stats are: Aspect % and Attack speed %, and third +Fire bolt skill. It can be worth dropping some (4-8%) Aspect % for a GA Attack speed to reach the 168% attack speed breakpoint, if you can find one, since the base Attack speed on the gloves is higher than on any other item (max 16.5%), meaning you will get more value from a GA and Masterworking crits on it than attack speed in other slots.
- GA Glass Cannon Raiment is also pretty cheap, but it only increases your damage, it does not help with flame shield uptime.
- TEMPER ROLLS ARE OFTEN MORE IMPORTANT THAN GREATER AFFIXES!
MORE EXPENSIVE BUT (eventually big) UPGRADES:
- GA CDR Amulet with Attack speed and ideally Glass Cannon (but it can be anything, Int% is good, there are a few other passives that are good, I forget the name of them, Dmg% is OK, anything really, if you can't find or hit GC).
- 1GA CDR Focus
- 1GA Int/Dmg/Vuln Dmg Weapon (Dot dmg is also fine)
- 1GA +Firebolt legs
- Eventually you might be able to reach 55+CDR and 168% attack speed cap and good +flame shield duration tempers / masterwork crits, you will be able to move Hectic from Amulet to Legs/Feet and you can play another offensive aspect.
- Same with Rapid if you get enough GA Atkspeed + Pyro attack speed% tempers and masterwork upgrades.
